I love the idea of Baracadeborge Blocker, having all your face up spells and field spell protected and to be able to grab a continuous card from the grave is pretty nice.
I also agree on the thunderdragon when I saw someone post it the cards just make the deck brick more. And you have to go for the chronicle so you don't have the extension of squirmer later in the combo. The thunder package is imo a side deck option. The best thing I like about throne is that it makes labrynth yubel better in my build (3 throne, spirit of yubel, yubel, nightmare pain, grave squirmer and 1 lotus). It gives lab access to varudas the rank 10 omni. It's more of a fun deck but hard losing to stun made me force this build.
You know what, you are so right. I hate seeing Opening in my hand instead of Beckoning. But then again, with only one Opening, you can't get the second Opening as discard fodder, so it's tough.
True but youronly getting the 2nd opening if you already open up opening, so it's a catch 22, plus sometimes the only thing you need it as discard fodder for is eternal fav, which you rely less on, and superpoly which is valid so it's overall usefulness is quite low imo
I mean I rather 2 cause gates is a soft once per turn. So having 2 during the long game gives you 2 revives and spell retrieval. In a perfect world sure play one, but that’s not how this game works
@@jeferainman2990 then you have pain and gates in hand but no dark monster to pop. Or a single monster, a gate in hand, a gate on the field. Or no monsters in hand + one for one. Everything in the scenarios above is as situational as yours. It's clearly player preference at this point. On the other hand the ratio can be up to debate, for example running 5/6 of these didn't feel that good because duplicates don't work well, but in 4 total copies I found my sweet spot.
@jeferainman2990 the soft OPT is nice, But it's a hard activate, so you would have to open gate, not beast, add 2nd gate, hold it (or ditch and recycle with 2st gate) then your opp plays nothing or very defensive so they don't kill themselves, then gets back to your 2nd turn for you to use that 2nd gate, where as with tenpai the grind games aren't so frequent anymore tbh, with Yubel you should be luring them into a false sense of safety, get to the BP then spring a Yubel on them with pain and if they don't kill themselves then and there you kill them next turn by just going BP.
Play 2 Copy of opening, minimum. U can summon beckoning, link summon almiraj, and with Spirit in hand u can discard yubel at cost of opening and free summon
As an enjoyer of 2/2 ratio for quite a while, I can understand player preference and the 3-1 ratio is arguably more valid in theory because you get an extra dark, as well as working with Pain a bit better due to having a monster. The only reason I'm still on 2/2 (I'm going back and forth with 3/1 but at least ended up with the 4 card total ratio) is because opening Gates plays a bit better into Droll by giving you the revive, while starting with Beckoning makes Gates completely worthless.
@babrad yeah I tried 2/2 but kept seeing gate and nit a route to another start or yubel (very rare, but was happening a lot and though f thus why do I need a 2nd gate that could be beast) haha but player preference really for that engine imo.
@@zephyrwargamesyugioh exactly, player preference. I was the one arguing in the comments about Sharvara instead of Shyama even without a Trap. Happy you gave it a shot. About Squirmer, I totally get your point and for the same reason I dropped it to 2, but isn't just 1 a bit too much? @babrad yeah still something I want to test, I'm not completely sold on the TD stuff yet just seems more win more than anything so that will open up space for more balanced cards
Do you think a second yama could come up in a terrible second turn? Also, what do you think about the Abominable chamber of the unchained? It's a brick but it can help in the second turn, after you used rage to reborn it to steal up to 2 more with anguish as well
I can see the use of a 2nd yama but mainly if you play more of the unchained main deck cards. I've also cut the unchained main deck cards down to just shivara as I'm still tweaking it, the list may change but Ives narrowed down all engines where I feel they aren't worth the chance of a brick. You shouldn't need to enter a major grind game imo, it's either you trap them in BP and they kill themselves or they play super defensive and you OTK them
I can tell you, the melodious matchup isn't great. I played a match and lost terribly, I wasn't playing throne, but I got hit with multiple interruptions while my opponed managed to play around nibiru once and dibble interruption the second game... Love the content, this helped me rethink a bit my build and I'll definitely keep this in mind when I'll get the thrones ❤
you can IF you also have OG Yubel on the field. OG Yubel is only required for activation of that part of the effect. so if you have OG and Spirit you could use the spirit for material instead
That can be a major pain, that's also where a 2nd Yubel can be helpful to get it to rotation, the best thing that we now have however is setting up the additonal interruptions, not leaving Yubel out there as much for them to do that, and relying more on Super poly than eternal Fav which allows you to use any Yubel monster not spercifically Yubel
In side deck for that situation i run 2 copies of materialization, with 3 effects which are: Special summon it Destroy it to destroy 1 monster with equal or lesser leve Return it to hand
@@jolynegarcia9761 this is super spicy but yubel misses the timing with the 2nd option and throne requires a monster while it's treated as a spell. I play double Yama in my build and use the optional part of his gy effect to pop Yubel in the S/T zone while in very rough spots Chronicle can destroy yubel as well
@@babrad in my strategy, mostly i'm gonna use the special summon and the bounce eff with spirit or with the og, i'm playing a pure version with more traps than usual
Do you ever see yourself playing more than 1 yama and rage now? I'm considering selling my extra ones aside from the 1-1 before the reprints and buying an SP little knight as that card is insane...
I would 100% sell rage. 1 is more than enough. A 2nd Yama is subjective, some play 2, I'm quite happy with 1, and think the extra will get even tighter when we get Phantom
Going through double Yama can be very powerful because you can pop your rank 10 and get a free non target pop of an opponent's card that way, while you get a lot of followup. Rage is fine at 1.
Just did the maths on running allure of darkness to banish the thunder dragondark, chances of drawing dragondark is 12.5% in a 40 card deck. Chance of drawing both dragondark and at least 1 of 3 allures is 3.55%. So roughly 1/4 times you draw the dragondark you'd also see allure, doesn't seem worth it.
Your missing the point/have tunnel vision on it. Allure can still be used to banish some of your yubel cards as you can get them back from there. it can also banish dead Shifters when you side them in. On top of that you also need to remember you can use allure under colossus, but you cant use Prosp. The idea of allure isnt only to banish Dark from it. Its to provide you with a arguably better option that prosp IF you play the TD engine.

Good list and tips. Thanks.
What would you normally banish off Prosp? Been finding it a bit difficult to decide
Depends on the match up and game state, if you dont need the burn youd ditch the train, almiraj, super poly targets if ineffective etc
If I replace Thunders with Fenrir, should I play pot prosperity or allure darkness?
Prosp
If you don't play the thunderdragons would that be fenrir?
Yes
Great video, as usual!! Could you make a list with shining sarcophagus with silent magician and/or Dark Magician? Thanks a lot

What price do you think is good for Nightmare throne it’s quite expensive at the moment
I've seen pre orders at £15-20
I think 15 is fair, any thing less decent deal anything more is hype imo
wait til after official release, 26th

15-20
I expect it to dip between 10-15
