I was watching a documentary where she said she was in Colorado and at a ski resort when she got inspiration to write the song. She went on to say she was looking at the snow-covered hills, when she noticed her reflection in the huge window she was looking out of. It was then, that it hit her. Cool story..
That's understandable, because this song is a reflection of what life essentially is, with all of it's hardships, heartbreak, and other things like that, especially when we all get older.
This song was my great grandma’s favorite song. She always had the biggest smile on her face whenever I visited her in the nursing home. I tried to go as much as possible because I knew we didn’t have much time together. The lyric “Even children get older And I'm getting older too” speaks to me because I was a little kid when I was visiting her but I did grow up fast. I didn’t understand the lyrics back then but I do now. It’s pretty much how I view my little sister now, as she grows up fast I realize that I am too. Another lyric that speaks to me is “Well, I've been afraid of changin' 'Cause I've built my life around you.” I’m afraid of growing up and how fast time goes by. Graduating high school and going to college was hard for me because I was comfortable being around all my friends in high school. In college, I don’t know anyone. But then I just remember I have to stay strong just like how my great grandma was. She was one of the bravest people I knew. Now the guitars in the sound like my childhood memories playing in the background as I’m listening to the lyrics I now understand.

Get another dog asap!!!!! I lost my soulmate dog and I'm still crying but someone saw my suffering and bought me a puppy. She is absolutely nothing at all compared to my soul mate that I thought I lost but, she does make me laugh and smile. She still isn't potty trained and I guess she never will be. I still buy the pads which are up to $40.00!!!!!! But she is the best medicine in the world for me!!!!!!! I never had potty trained a dog, I always adopted at least 3-5 years old. I did so because I don't know how to potty train!!! Oh well, my point is the best medicine for losing a dog is getting a new one. My brother also did that. I told him the absolutely best thing was to adopt a new dog. 4 million dogs are euthanized every year!!!!!! Find your shelter and adopt one of these sweet sweet souls and save it from death!!!!! It is the absolutely best thing you can do for yourself and for one of these sweet gentle souls that will otherwise be murdered!!!!!
