Hello, I'm Marta Żary, creator of Tempest Doll - original ball jointed dolls. My dolls are made of resin, with very limited quantity. Every single one is unique and one of a kind, made entirely by me. These dolls are meant for collectors and art enthusiasts. You can pose and style them however You like.

@MecherWulf that’s stylisation, it’s done on purpose so you know it was made by this specific person, sort of like a trademark, it’s the artists signature. like the long neck, long legs, claw like arms, hearts on knee joints, etc..
now if only horror movies have beautiful dollls instead of grotesque ones, i think it'll be more eerie

I love the theme of all the dolls even if they have unrealistically long proportions.

Since when is it written in stone that artwork and toys need to be proportionally accurate? It never has. Stop falling into the drama that others create solely for attention. It's STUPIDITY and all you're doing is feeding into a narcissists viewpoint, hence why it became an issue in the first place.
Riddle me this guys, If dolls are supposed to be physically accurate to real people...where's down syndrome Barbie? Or quadriplegic Ken?

It's beautiful! I've always checked out big companies' dolls and recently I got an old Aoi Tuki and it's beautiful how individual artists put their own design in making these dolls. I love yours as much!

Agree! My whole inspiration for her was a toxic plant/bug, so bright colors are a must have ;) I went with a vibrant orange, You can see the end result in my channel too.

I don't have such tutorial and I don't plan on making one, because there are already a lot of tips online. So I think there's no point of repeating it.
From my experience tho, I strongly suggest 2 things:
1. - making a good blueprint. I know it seems boring and it's tempting to skip this part, but it's VERY helpful to keep the proportions and overall look of Your doll exactly as You wanted.
2. - using the right clay. I like La Doll Premix and Premier by Padico. I strongly suggest those, they are air drying, lightweight and durable. Of course You can use other air drying clay, or polymer clay, this is not a "must". Pick what You like. I'm just saying this from my experience.
...OR You can make Your doll in 3d program if You are computer savvy. Many doll artists choose that nowadays.
If you never tried making dolls or sculpting, start from something simple. Just a few joints for a figure or try making just one arm. Look at different dolls, how they move, how every part looks. That way You can learn and feel what this concept is all about.

As stunning as the piece is on a technical level, there is a sense of the uncanny when viewing this doll. When seeing it look so close to human and yet not.

i wish there were dolls like this, but you can also assemble the hand and foot joints, just for more poseability (i REALLY love dolls with all moveable joints, or at least lots of em. used to have one, but it was basically a really well made raimi spiderman figure. i no longer have it, but i wish more dolls were as moveable as that one)
I agree! That's why in my opinion Monster High dolls were such a breakthrough in the doll market. Finally we had a moveable but still affordable doll, and on top of that available in most stores. It was something completely new, what we were waiting for :>
@@TempestDoll I used to have so MANY of those! The dragon one was my favorite, cuz she was absolutely beautiful. Shame the tail wasn't articulated.
I unfortunately no longer have them, but damn I wish there were more like them
I also love how you can Essentially mix and mach them due to the nature of how you put them together. In this vein I DEFINITELY recommend Figmas, cuz they're like MH but even MORE articulate (and you can even get custom ones!) And they're practically impossible to break!

I visited your Etsy and I wish so badly I could afford one of your dolls right now, they’re so beautiful and I’d love to have one in my life. Unfortunately, I don’t currently have the funds to spend thousands on a piece of art and it makes me so sad.
Btw I don’t say this as a complaint, your prices are completely justified for these beautiful dolls, I simply can’t afford said justified price right now.

I hope next year I can offer blank dolls in my shop too, so they would cost less. And also a Minibelle doll - she is in a small scale so she will be less expensive too. In December I will have a next full set doll with a bit lower price than "Dreamscape" that You see now in my shop.

No, I sculpted the doll by hand, then made silicone mold of every part, and then I casted all parts in resin.

Yes, the length of elastic is my secret, I had to work this out myself. As for hands, I just like dramatic hand poses and long fingers. To me it looks nice ¯\_(ツ)_/¯♡

It depends on which doll You want, because there are a lot to choose from. Most artists/companies ship dolls worldwide, so it doesn't matter where You live. It's best to ask them directly (on instagram for example, where they showcase their dolls). If You don't have big budget You can also try buying used doll - and I think this is the best option if You are a beginner. There are tons of sites to buy from, but it all depends on what doll You want, and I don't know that.
(I don't know spanish well, so I used translator for Your sentence; I hope I understood You right)
I want to make it clear that I don’t care that the doll has boobs. I’m just very uncomfortable with the fact that everything else is that cartoonishly out of proportion doll stuff (ie twig arm, broken ribcage level of hour glass shape, heart shaped knee caps) then just normalish looking boobs.
I want to be clear, I’m not say she should have gasongas or anything. I don’t know what they should be, I just feel like these don’t match.

It's a sort of a tacky clay, that is used to put posters on the wall. It's very sticky, so it won't come off by itself. But it can be taken off and it doesn't stain the doll, so it's pretty convenient for securing doll's eyes :>

I feel like you doing something wrong… the way attach the legs from the very top to the body… I thing the big connection should be turned around so it should go to the butt not the front .. try that and see
I think those grooves need to be on the inner part of the joint to function, otherwise her legs wouldn’t bend forward to sit. It does kinda look like the backs of her thighs are on the front though.
