  • Kayaking on Selby Canal - Koa Lana Folding Kayak & Aqua Marina Steam Inflatable Kayak -
    I wanted to get out in the Koa Lana Folding Kayak and give it another go. I wasn't happy with it on my first outing. Roadkill had picked up a freebie Aqua Marina Steam - free because it needed a repair. Has he done a good job?

    Hi, I've got the chance of getting an Aqua Marina Memba 390 for £375.00. It's never been in the water so technically brand new. I'm a big bloke but have a history with my back due to a work related accident. This is the only thing stopping me buying the kayak. Don't want to spend the cash only to find that my back might be an issue.

      I too have a back issue due to a car accident years ago, it's mostly a coccyx issue. I've made 2 videos on how I make the experience more comfortable. I'll post the first one I made in another reply, here's the most recent (uploaded last week) - ruclips.net/video/euOgzXkl7lk/видео.html

      Some combination of these 2 might work for you :) Let me know how you get on!

      I have the memba 390. 2 months old, been on the water for approx 90 minutes. Too big for my needs. If interested. I’m selling for £300 (price negotiable)

    How much more tippy did it feel compared to the Story, mate?

      It feels way more tippy. But I'm getting used to it. And confidence is about developing the right response at the right time 😁

    Hi there, looking to purchase an inflatable kayak and am looking at the aqua marina steam 412 (2022 version) or the ITIWIT X100 1/2 person kayak.
    Could you offer any advice on which one would be better?

      Hi there, welcome aboard 😊
      There's not much between them as far as I'm aware. Both have drop stitch floors and lower pressure sides; both will be pretty stable on the water; both will pack down to a similar, relatively large size; both will weigh about the same. All I would say is if you go for the Itiwit make sure you get a single skin version for ease of drying and maintenance. And I could be wrong but I believe the Itiwit doesn't track straight on the water quite as well.

      @campbstk1538 Год назад

      @@MoreThanJustaCleaner hey there, thanks for that. Would you have any other recommendations for a single skin kayak around the same price mark? I like the look of the steam 412 but have read a couple of reviews saying that the lower pressure sides make the boat flex too much. I would only be using this on lakes and rivers mainly so not sure if that's too much of an issue

    • @MoreThanJustaCleaner
      @MoreThanJustaCleaner  Год назад

      @@campbstk1538 considering Rob had his under inflated in this video, I'd say those people who said it would flex are either on the very large side, or, they had it really under inflated. Nevertheless, the Story Ranger is worth a look 👍😊

      @@MoreThanJustaCleaner yeah, compared to the old Itiwit (double skin) the X100 doesn't track so straight. I tried even the "ancient" Itiwit, with the skeg derived from old Sevylor kayaks and it tracked way better. You can improve X100 tracking replacing the standard skegs with sup ones, the rail attachment is the same.

    Nah then, ay up me duck.
    I must say even though I was already being encouraged by a friend with an inflatable kayak, after subbing and watching your vids I'm definitely going to get one and have started to look more seriously now, got to be an inflatable for me though.
    Ay a good *un me owd 🛶👍🙂
