    Is this system working good in the area that have the difference in temperature between summer and winter 50 - 0?

    JE&E Electrical you need to get your excavator to shore up walls of that trench or at least put the Clay pile elsewhere away from the Trench. You are at great risk of incurring a Collapse of Trench wall and Drowning Burying one of the workers in the Video.

    My understanding is that the ground remains a constant 55 degrees, but that antifreeze is added to the water in the system. This seems like an unnecessary step, no? Over 20 degrees above the freeze point seems like a huge buffer to not need antifreeze.

      No, and there are 2 main reasons (In my opinion).
      1) In heat pump (heat mode), the heat exchanger works at a temperature below 32°C (0°C). Freon flows at a temperature of approx. 5°F (-15°C) and that will cause the heat exchanger to freeze. System will not work and volume increase will possibly break the heat exchanger.
      2) Assuming a constant ground temperature of 55°F (13°C) is not correct, that depends on the latitude your local climate and depth. But let’s assume is near that value. Ground loop pipes must go to the surface. During winter that pipes might freeze near and above the frost level. If the system is off, this will cause the pipes to freeze, expand and break.

    Umm is that ditch more than 4' deep? No cut back, that spill,pile is more than 4' from the edge of the ditch. Slope to the Toe!!!! No access or egress, Can't imagine what a real operator would think of that ditch!! "Lets walk around in running shoes" and without any safety gear. People look around would you let your 16 yr old work in that. That's why regulators and local authorities get P.O. and accidents happen!!!! Just had a surveyor killed when jumped down for a "Quick measurement"! Do not accept good enough!!! I hope they read this and get the message it takes little work to make it safe.

      No kidding, what a death trap. No shoring, no lay back and spoil pile too close. Matter of time before you bury someone...stupid

    You don’t mention the increased electricity consumption from pumping. It is a significant additional cost.
