100% I love Li Yu his expressions alone can really crack me up. The majority of the acting in this is superb especially the main characters they can so easily change your emotions just with their expressions 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
🤣🤣🤣 love wei interpretation of the others concubine and the queen , the emperor loves her so much cause she is so clever and unique.
But that emperor ruined the loved between the empresse's little brother, Fu Cha Shi Wei (Soldier Fu Cha)
In real, her mimicking the empress itself was a huge crime of death penaly.

The Empress knew The Emperor was in love with YL from the beginning he like a toddler in a school yard realise it till later & went through a time of not handling it very well!

The writers and production people really out done themselves with this story, i really love it and i watch a clip or two a day since watching the whole 70 clips twice. 學蘇州話的地方第一次看都不懂純貴妃為甚麼要驚訝地瞪大眼睛又不爽，後來才想明白，魏等於是在學她家鄉的土話，對已經晉升貴妃高高在上的貴族來說，以前說土話是"不文明也不光彩"的時期吧，所以才尷尬地說我都已經忘記了
這段謹言演得不錯啊，配音幫助也很大，但絕不只是配音的功勞
吴瑾言完美演绎的魏璎珞这个角色，可以说这个角色为她而设。

I have rewatched so many times now am i really the only one amused by the expressions on his face at 8:40-8:47 like he really stunned yinglou got her whole ass palace treating him like a human XDXDXDXD thats why he fell in love is he's treated normally for once. He loves it, forgets then gets surprised again and falls more in love. She fights back where everyone else just gave in and then conspired against him. She also shows she loves him rather than saying it which would also be giving in and the game they both like playing is over. He wants a partner not someone to submit hes got the whole world for that.
this is really why he has those expressions all the time.

idk why so many people hate him like bruh ONE its a dif time period shit fucked up but its different times. whats normal then aint normal now. TWO hes the damn emperor. THREE we all got those "kinks" and psycology the chase is what he likes. Sometimes people just like to be treated like a normal ass person.
So many people hate him cause they wanted her to get with pretty boy. They're not thinking that seriously at all.

I still think her and Fuheng are the ultimate otp, BUT I still love her relationship with the emperor. On the one hand you have love which was her and Fuheng, and on the other you have duty. But I believe she is able to love him in her own way later on.
I just think ppl got salty bc of pretty much what the previous Empress mentioned which is the Emperor could have had literally anyone else. But unfortunately for Fuheng, there is only one Wei Yingluo

She commented on that in the show and even empress was like fuheng you dumbass and yinglo would never forgive him for that. The chance to be together was gone when he married ms petty psycho. Fuheng did plenty dumb stuff his sister always staring at him like you really think your winning her heart by doing this crap with the prince who raped and killed her sister and then marrying the other girl. Their relationship was complicated but she did trust him to protect her though she fell in love with the emperor and he with her because he trusted her with everything constantly breaking rules because she treated him like a normal person. It is such a lovely story though to complex to explain in short comments.

She even walked and bowed in a snow storm for him just so she wouldn't utter the words 'i was only using you for wealth and status' and what did he do? he agrees to marry the psycho nut-job. He was a lord im sure there would be some leeway he could find- hell, Yingluo was often able to and she was a woman and a maid. The writers handled their love triangle super well.
It sucks to start off with the best of the best in terms of historical C-drama's. Yanxi Palace just hits different. My grandma and I are on our fifth re-watch since 2018 lol.
It’s so hard to be playing a eunuch or palace maid in this show. All that kneeling. 😭 kudos to them! They make the show look more authentic. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I don’t know what the Emperor see on consort chun her face tells you she is no good n she will do anything to stay on top it’s good thing consort Ling is street smart , that’s partly why the Emperor is so attracted to n cannot get enough of her, she keeps him smiling ,n she has captured his heart ❤️ like no other n she knows it 👍👍👍

Yeah so sad. I really liked her. I hated what they did to her but they got their comeuppance.
Yeah, it was pretty sad but that dice had been set earlier and they said as much at the time too if you listened to what Dr Ye said. I was gutted it happened as I really liked her character she played it so well. If you didnt know both Mingyu and Yinglou (Jiang Zixin and Wu Jinyan ) the people who play them are also together in another series called The Legend of Haolan.
