    I wish Medicare hadn't allowed use of the word "Medicare" for the Advantage Plans. It implies they are run by Medicare, not for-profit insurance companies.

    • @BoomerBenefits
      @BoomerBenefits  Год назад +3

      It definitely can make it confusing since Advantage plans are offered by private insurance companies, but with that said, they must offer the same benefits as Medicare Parts A and B.

      Using that word " medicare " in the advantage plan is definitely a domain name theft, in my eyeballs it's fraud and seriously misleading, especially for the most vulnerable people in our country..thanks to the leaders of our country , they drain your blood while you are still walking..

    I am thinking to switch from advantage plan to supplement plan. I turned 65 this year and I enrolled advantage plan first . I can use this 1year trial period right without underwriting any time within 12 months? Some site says not 60days earlier than trial period ending date. Some agents from insurance companies don't seem to be familiar this right. I live in NJ.

    • @BoomerBenefits
      @BoomerBenefits  Год назад +1

      There is a 12-month trial period that can be used. You must meet the certain qualification, but if you do, you may not have to answer health questions to get a Medicare supplement. Call us to see if you qualify! 817-249-8600

      Many took premiums for years then defaulted on care, leaving it for state insurance guarantee funds leaving the insured with pennies on the dollars they paid in. It happened to our family and we had to provide for long-term care. Of course the executives and agents made their cut.

    Government representatives who have allowed this to become so complicated and with so many complex rules should be imprisoned for derilection of duties to properly represent us and the funds we contributed for 50 years of our lives. I am disgusted and overwhelmed with the social security process and Healthcare process. And disheartened that the Insurance PAC has found it's way into do many pockets to our detriment.

    I agree LTC is an issue and needs to be considered, but the numbers are misleading.
    I’m a physician BTW
    70% needing LTC is too high. That number includes in home services, and relatively shorter time periods of facility and hospice care at any point.
    The 20% requiring lengthy nursing home care is also exaggerated.
    Yes these are real risks and we have some LTC insurance, but the great majority of people at age 65 will not need extended long term care. Once you reach 85-90 the numbers do start to rise, but by that time a lot of persons have passed.
    Most all of the very old get taken care of in some way, whether it is family, portfolio, or public assistance.
    Be more focused on the early and middle years of retirement. That is where I see the most stress as to health issues and costs.

    • @BoomerBenefits
      @BoomerBenefits  Год назад

      Hi Randolph, thank you for your input. We found these numbers at longtermcare.gov!

    • @randolphh8005
      @randolphh8005 Год назад +1

      @@BoomerBenefits thanks for responding, your numbers were not wrong, just misleading to the average retiree.
      As I said the 70% LTC number includes in home services provided by family and professionals and hospice care. Intermediate ALF care is not uncommon, but runs $3-6k per month in Florida where I am.
      Expensive LTC can be real, but the numbers are much lower for extended nursing home care, maybe 10-15 % of the advanced age elderly. Also much of this high expense lengthy care is paid for by Medicaid, once assets are unavailable

      @BoomerBenefits  Год назад +1

      @@randolphh8005 We appreciate the feedback, Randolph! We completely understand what you're saying. Our statistic is just a general statistic about long-term care that retirees/Medicare beneficiaries should be aware of because, in our experience, many are shocked to find out Medicare does not offer full coverage for these kinds of services. We know there are more variables mixed in, and it may not apply to everyone, but it is something for beneficiaries to know.

    QUESTION IF IM ON medicare advantage and turn 65 qualifying for original medicare. Can i after a yr later get on original medicare without going thru underwriting?

    • @BoomerBenefits
      @BoomerBenefits  Год назад +1

      Hi Ron, you can return to Original Medicare without underwriting as long as you do so during a valid election period. However, if you are wanting to switch to a Medigap plan, you may need to pass underwriting to be accepted by that plan.
