The secret is empty hands and talking nice. He still gets killed a lot as a fresh spawn, but he also teams with randoms and makes a few friends along the way. But then he is also the guy that can shoot his travel companion in the back of the head and justify it to himself.

The cool ones end up in the videos and stand out giving a false perception that he tends to meet more cool people than we do.

It's SO funny how as a freshie, everbody's goofing around and friendly and doing dumb video game shit, but give a guy a mosin and a plate carrier and he's the sweatiest angel of death commando you've ever met in your life. That boxing match over the "map", the most intense sniper duel you've ever had, and "I've gotta get his stomach to make a rope", "Oh we can make fishing hooks out of his bones too! :)" are ALL peak DayZ, and that's what makes this game great. Also, you know what's underrated? Guy that regularly says your name when he's talking to you. Always nice to hear somebody say your name.

Just on a side note can anyone imagine how extremely horrifying it would be if a scenario like a zombie apocalypse was to eventuate in real life. The lawlessness and cruelty of people would know no bounds I believe.
This server is awesome man. I met some dude who didn’t really speak English, we chilled for a while, got jumped by some idiot in a motorcycle helmet. We both survived, but my friend was very low health and could barely move. Though he could have recovered from his injuries, he ended his run with a machete despite me trying to convince him to do otherwise.
The first few minutes reminded me of some hilarious fights I had in dayz! My favourite was when a third guy turned up with a gun but said it seemed like a fair fight, so he would fight the winner, so we both ran at him some how we knocked the guy out and killed him then I threw the gun away but lost the fight 😂
20k hour Rust veteran, came to check more dayZ out. i played for a very short time before i found rust many years ago but have thought about returning because of your videos. itll be fun to be trash at it for a while lol
