  • Pastor John teaches us today from Acts 13 that harsh truths are necessary components of a God-purposed life. Contrary to the false universal worldview where Jesus is always so loving and kind, the Scriptures reveal some unpopular characteristics of our truth-filled and wrathful Jesus. The repentance of sin is always the first step toward the loving kindness of Jesus - and the world continuously attempts to side-step this unkind truth.

    I like how John prays. He's just kind of talking instead of sounding like it's a concluding step of the process. You don't hear that to often.

    Truths 🙏🏼🙌🏼 christians get this idea that we’re supposed to be some sort of cotton candy, rainbows, hugs like we’re supposed to be a salesman trying to draw people in, or manipulate them into being saved. John is right, we’re supposed to speak the truth in love, and that’s not always cotton candy and rainbows. Sometimes it is a steadfast rebuking of evil.

    I needed this. I'm a youth minister and trying to embolden my youth and make sure I am always leading from the front. This was an encouragement.

    I've been in prayer over the gifts of The Spirit and what I keep hearing is that God want to raise prophets to speak for Him, to speak the truth that will bring people into His kingdom. This was an awesome message that prayerfully will bring people to want to relay what he has on his heart for His people.

    37:30 John is talking about Matt 18 dealing with an unrepentant professing brother and treating them as an unbeliever. Most pastors get this wrong if they say we are to shun them or ignore them.... gaslight them. Unbelievers need the love of the body and the gospel. Nowhere in Scripture do we see Jesus shunning unbelievers and tax collectors. Instead, we see Jesus eating with and ministering to un believers and tax collectors. I someone doesn't understand the gospel and thinks they are a Christian and goes through church discipline... are we to shun them and almost insure they go to hell? Or, do we recognize as a church body that this brother doesn't exhibit the true signs of a believer through repentance, and we should evangelize him?... because he obviously misunderstands the gospel or has a mental disconnect somewhere preventing a heart changing relationship with Jesus Christ. Loving the unrepentant brother (but not condoning their sin) takes form after church discipline by notifying the church that this brother is unrepentant and the body should love and evangelize them as if they were never saved... not shun them or forbid their attendance. Removing leadership authority in the church from such a person should be considered and voting privileges as well. Many churches haven't even thought about this, so i use the word "considered" because you have to think about it and formulate your plan from scripture if you haven't already. Gentleness and love is the oil that makes everything work in a God honoring way.

    John, do we speak the hard truth about our kids animals going to heaven? Just curious of your thoughts on that. Or do u honestly think they do

    • @waynemagnon6679
      @waynemagnon6679 17 часов назад

      Genesis says animals have souls . Not souls like human souls made in God's image but souls still. So perhaps they go to heaven perhaps they don't. Revelation tells how the 4 horsemen come on horses and so does Jesus when he returns. So we k ow there are horses up there. Who knows. We'll find out when we get there. But I think they do go to heaven in some way.
      Have a Blessed Day
