Nah... Those are pure hybrid destroyers: amazing torp speed and tight spread, but low torp damage; amazing guns, but low number of guns; no smoke, but good anti-air. Japanese were supposed to be pure destroyer boats, not hybrids.
I like notser. he is the best CC unlike others like flamu and flambass, Continously salty and Screaming like a mad man or drunk as hell. Notser has a really soothing voice which helps me focus on the stuff hes saying!

I wish I could say I planned that trade but to be honest you surprised me going the direction you did. The last thing I'm going to do in that thing is yolo a smolensk blind. Theoretically, the positioning of pan-European DDs should be on par with that of IJN DDs, not to mention the already decent concealment; there's also an essence of situation awareness due to the lack of smoke consumable as the universal "Escape plan", yet still being able to go full gun-blazing and denying certain area whenever possible. So yeah I believe that DD mains, or players that prefer a stealthy gunboat in general, would find themselves enjoying the line/grind.
That would be the Radio Position Finding commander skill in action. It points in the general direction of any ship closest to you; however" the enemy ship will be informed that they are "Located". Aircraft carriers or their aircraft cannot use this skill. It's a 4-point skill, (the fifth skill icon in Notser's build), meaning that it does require serious XP and grinding. I would suggest checking the WoWs Wiki for ships that can use it the most, if you plan on using it as a commander skill.
It's a captain skill. It's the 4 point captain skill next to Concealment Expert often refered to as RPF called Radio Location. It tells you where the closest opponent is.
Im only at tier 7 (Skane) with Eu DDs, but i struggle with them compared to other DD lines. Visby holds my record for plane shooting (72) but im not able to play better than „average“ on stats side
Great play! I actually never saw whose digits, 1.5kk credits, 28.5k ship exp and 23.4k free exp. Sounds like a dream, anything I should know? Even if I score 3k base Exp with 300k dmg I see at best 600k credits and 8k ship Exp with some consumables... (I have premium, EU server)
As you can see at 19:33, he was running premium account, type 20 permacamo (+20% credits, +100% xp), a couple of economic flags (Zulu for +20% credit, Equal Speed Charlie London for +50% xp, probably Zulu Hotel for another +50% cpt xp as well), and finally a ton of special flags (basilisk, scylla, leviathan, wyvern, red dragon...) for extra credits, xp, free xp and cpt xp. It's important to understand that the individual percentage modifiers stack on each other, but free xp and cpt xp are so high (23k and 72k, compared to 28k regular xp) because their bonuses are applied to the regular xp after its own bonuses have been added. For example: if you only mount Equal Speed Charlie London and Zulu Hotel you don't just get +50% xp and +50% cpt xp, but rather +50% xp and +125% cpt xp (150% * 150%). Notser's base stats, with the premium account, were indeed "only" about 542k credits and 4.9k base xp. But then he added +483% xp from bonuses and to that new total (29k or so) the game applied another +305% cpt xp (not seen in that image) for a total of over 72k cpt xp. I'm not sure one can find the free xp bonuses, but they work the same. Cheers
Maybe I'm missing something here, but there ships certainly seem quite balanced... Is the speed (or lack of) and concealment the achilles heel of these ships? Torps + guns + heal + AA seems like a good combo... quite good in fact
No, the weakness is it's shit at litterally everything. It's a jack of all trades, master of none. True gunships outgun her, true torp baots outtorp her, etc. Lack of smoke really fucks you up.
You've hit the nail on the head here. Many people say they're overpowered, but its mostly just inexperience in dealing with them and the fact that they fit the meta. They revitalize the torpedo as an armament in WoWs, and at a level which still is balanced. They are a "death of a thousand cuts" ship, meaning that they still have to take risks and are just as vulnerable as any other destroyers. The heal gives them some area for error, but if they are focused they fall faster than a broadsiding cruiser. I enjoy them greatly, but they are not overpowered, especially when compared to the some of the Russian ships WG is pushing

These dds are made for me cuz I only use smoke in gun boats! Rarely bother to use in torpedo boats! I wish they would remove shima smoke and give torpedo reload boost instead! Would make the ship so much better haha
Yeah with Torp Tube Mod 1 they boost to 90kts, They are a weak torpedo but with the speed you do tend to get more torp hits (my first battle in a Halland netted 23 torp hits - thanks to a couple of potato BB's)
You can make a full swedish DD and Cruiser line. Dont know why WG make them Pan EU. There are Dutch, Greece, Portugal, Spain and Norwegen DDs that would be a Pan EU DD line. Dont know what is in the head of WG.🤷♂️
Yeah the Italians, Swedish, and Dutch especially had a good amount of DD’s to make into full tech lines. Instead wargamimg made for example a Russian battleship tech line in which almost the entire tech line never existed in real life. Instead of doing that they could have made a Solely Italian, Swedish, and Dutch destroyer tech lines. I would much rather have those than the “make believe” Russian BB’s.

Saw this during the stream, an amazing game ending with a rather close call. Looking forward to getting this ship myself, at T8 at the moment. While watching your stream one thing struck me, why is the Öland the only ship with a 360 degrees rotation turret, and why is it only the aft one?! Friesland has both and with these DDs not having smoke, wouldn't it be a nice quality of life thing with all turrets being 360 degrees like RN DDs? What's your thoughts about this? Maybe you as a CC can get an answer from developers regarding this feature, or maybe lack of feature I shall call it..
My guess is that the turrets weren't 360 degree in real life and therefore are not in game. But it very well could be a balance thing ofc, that fast reload doesn't make you a good gunboat with just two turrets. But other DDs don't want to pick a fight with you unless they've got an advantage. Such a bad trade for them otherwise, if they even survive the encounter. So having 360 degree turrets would make you very strong at knife-fights, maybe too strong, so WG opted to not make them 360 degree. Or stronger rather, they're pretty good at it already imho. Really been enjoying the Västerås and Skåne. So can't wait to try the rest out. Went for the exact same build as Notser. That radio location makes you very effective att control and it's been a blast so far :-)
@@MrZemIan I understand it might be a balancing thing, but it feels so wrong when one ship in the middle of the tree has it on only one of her turrets. It feels almost like WG did it to try during testing and then forget about it when going live. As always these ships will top the scoreboards in beginning and then drop. Maybe they will be given the 360 degree turrets as a quality of life balancing after enough players have cemented their results as a 48%, 50% or 52% ship compared to other DDs at that tier. Same thing happened to Jervis as far as I remember, it received the 360 degree guns from higher tiers. But the thing there is that it feels like a natural evolution of the line, here it is one ship, one turret, mid tech tree.
Sort of seems indicative of the long-range unstealthy DD gameplay - DDs stay behind the BBs, who stay behind the islands, CAs/CLs all die early trying to spot. Vision management kind of falls by the wayside.

I have played 10 matches in this DD, and I haven't come close to outputting close to even 100k damage. BB's are spotting my torps from a long way, even with the 95kt mod. I launched over 70 torps one match and all of 2 hit. So I would take this demonstration with apprehension. The players in this match were bad, and this was an one in a million lucky match.
Got the Haland and tried your build and commander skill setup. guns are useless. I gave up CS concealment for IFHE much better and detection went from 6km to 6.7km... rather be able to defend myself and got me a shima first game out. ;)
Meh. Prefer the USN or the RN destroyers for their teamplay aspects. This seems like a dd line purely focused on damage numbers and pointless AA. Nice video though Notser, love your content!
Agreed. I'm still at low number of plays, but leaning more towards Demolition for fires or BFT for dakka. I'm also not playing with the same style as Notser. He seems to be using a tried and true IJN torp DD method of zone denial and playing the outside. I've had very good (and some bad, ofc) games playing an island assassin. These guns have reasonable AP against over-confident cruisers. DDs aren't too much of a threat. BBs that come around a corner can be a problem though. I just don't have enough alpha to scare them away.

Notser, i do like your videos and your stuff. BUT: I would have hated your playstyle by playing that safe in the end. You just won by pure luck and because the Thunderer rly didnt know what he had to do to win for his team. Another point is that your video title says Pan EU DDs Out, Playstyle etc and yet you only showed this one Match of TierX Halland. Im a bit disappointed.

@@babapade468 its been over a year since I played. At first it was the IJN torp line. Back when playing the shima was not like playing 4d chess. Then it was the IJN gunboat line. Last one I enjoyed playing was the Holland.

Friesland doesn’t have Torps so it’s an entirely different ballgame.
You might have had better luck with that last torp launch if you'd chosen the narrow spread to tread through that island gap.

Sort of seems indicative of the long-range unstealthy DD gameplay - DDs stay behind the BBs, who stay behind the islands, CAs/CLs all die early trying to spot. Vision management kind of falls by the wayside.

happen so often, DD stop shooting try to torp so he lose the gunfight and this torps will normally never hit - so why use such players the torps while in gunfight with a dd

I have played 10 matches in this DD, and I haven't come close to outputting close to even 100k damage. BB's are spotting my torps from a long way, even with the 95kt mod. I launched over 70 torps one match and all of 2 hit. So I would take this demonstration with apprehension. The players in this match were bad, and this was an one in a million lucky match.
Got the Haland and tried your build and commander skill setup. guns are useless. I gave up CS concealment for IFHE much better and detection went from 6km to 6.7km... rather be able to defend myself and got me a shima first game out. ;)
Meh. Prefer the USN or the RN destroyers for their teamplay aspects. This seems like a dd line purely focused on damage numbers and pointless AA. Nice video though Notser, love your content!

Agreed. I'm still at low number of plays, but leaning more towards Demolition for fires or BFT for dakka.
I'm also not playing with the same style as Notser. He seems to be using a tried and true IJN torp DD method of zone denial and playing the outside. I've had very good (and some bad, ofc) games playing an island assassin. These guns have reasonable AP against over-confident cruisers. DDs aren't too much of a threat. BBs that come around a corner can be a problem though. I just don't have enough alpha to scare them away.
massive damage = 7 torps hitting for 50k??? that was a good spread, but those torps are weak sauce. You're like a carrier torpedo plane that doesn't fly.

"And we did massive, MASSIVE damage on that, I can't believe how much damage we did" ... you landed 5 torps for 50k damage. That's trash damage lol. These torpedoes kinda suck... 2 hits on a DD and the DD survives. Meanwhile you have some torps in the game doing like 18k per hit.
fast firing and insane speed. Its a trade off. Personally I prefer fast rapid firing over a 2+ minute reload and mediocre speed.

@@babapade468 its been over a year since I played. At first it was the IJN torp line. Back when playing the shima was not like playing 4d chess. Then it was the IJN gunboat line. Last one I enjoyed playing was the Holland.
