The soloist gave the best performance of this that I've ever heard. Makela allowed the music to breath while maintaining a crucial vitality with the performance. Excellent!!
No words to describe how warm is his sound, how deep Is the connection between the orchestra and the soloist. Thanks for this concert, It has been STUNNING!
yes. agreed
The first part is beautiful. The second part no so.
Is this a difficult concerto? I doesn't sound so difficult
@@83gregorycharlene play it then the fuck
@@83gregorycharlene try to find on youtube bernstein explained the feature of this concerto.
Just my observation. The concerto ends with a scale more similar to start of rapsody in blue.
Yes the concerto is difficult.
On the slowly movement, all notes are important for harmony( differently to classic concerto where you have arpeggi and musical scale ) difficult to get right intonation, dynamics, legato.
2nd part it is more easy for a jazz/latin american clarinetist than classic, but jumps are not easy because you should jump between chalemaux, acute, socracute register fast.
Originally concerto was more technical demanding in the fast movement, more in sovraacute register and benny goodman ask to copland to make easier it.
There some clarinetist( if i'm not wrong frost for example) that play originally the concerto and it is pretty impossible.
As a flutist that has played the Copeland piece for flute and the orchestral Copeland work, there are DEFINITELY words. You just have to pull them from your soul and heart. ❤❤❤
The clarinet has such a nuanced, full and unsinkable soul. How good to hear its perfect role, here.
Roberto Miele
Fantastic performance! Poetic and athletic, so musical, stylish - bravo to all!
Calogermo Palermolle ja Klaus Mäkelälle kiitos vaikuttavasta esityksestä.Fridrich Bruk, dipl.säveltäjä,Tampereella
I'm crying for joy. The warmth and flow...the tone and soul...everything here is dreamlike in a superb way...and THAT solo Oh ! my... thank you thank you thank you Aaron, Klaus, Calogero
CRY FOR JOY... THERE IS NO JOY LIKE THAT....
Semplicemente fantastico e perfetto, grande Maestro Lillo Palermo.
BRAVISSIMO Calogero...the one and only! A beautiful and amazing performance!😍❤🙏
Estasi: altro non riesco a immaginare. Interpretazione unica e inimitabile, come sempre!
Semplicemente ... GRANDE Lillo ;) :)
I love Aaron Copeland and have never heard this. Its so beautiful!
it was written for Benny Goodman
@@PinacoladaMatthew Fun fact: this version isn't the original one. Copland wrote another version but for Goodman that version was too difficult, and he semplificated the ''difficult version'' in this beautiful Concerto
@@PinacoladaMatthew I love Copeland it is so typical of his music
Che meraviglia.
TOP-uitvoering!!
This is sublime on every level. Bravi tutti!
Semplicmente superlativi! Strepitoso Lillo!

What a beautiful sound!
One of my favourite recordings of this piece.
Meraviglioso!!!!!😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Superrrr Clarinetist-------MASTER-----
Bravo Maestro!!!!
So gorgeous. I had no idea the concerto begins with this Adagio.
Straordinario, grandissima interpretazione.
Hey, why do they have a kid conducting that orchestra? Isn't he supposed to be in school? He must have cut Math class to come and do this gig! No, but jest aside, what an incredible genious this young man must be in order for him to be able to do, at his very young age, such masterful conducting with such a fine, world-renowned orchestra. Congratulations! And Seattle Symphony, what are you waiting for? Right here is your next new conductor, Klaus Mäkelä! Go for it, offer him a contract!
He is the principal conductor of Orchestre de Paris in France. So talented young genious!
Amazing. Wonderful version. Thank you for sharing it.
Grazie mille maestro per questo dono!🙏🏻🙏🏻

Absolutamente maravilloso
Woooow, great!!! Applaus :))))))
Me ecanta!!
.......grazie.....
Fantástico 🙏
Festive Hopeful Gorgeous......BRAVI TUTTI from Pompano Beach!
Bravissimo
❤️
😍😍😍😍
IF THIS ISN'T THE ULTIMATE MUSICAL TRIP... i know fuck all about music . Calogero's solo is one of the reasons the Inter-Planetary Police will think twice before they exterminate us. INTENSELY HUMAN
I've not heard this before... yes it is sublime. Wonderful performance. (I'm hearing echoes of Rodeo...)
That's just it with Copland. Many of his compositions are 'echoes' of each other.
@@ronm3245 I don't agree at all. No rodeo here. But you can hear Copland's personal touches. Not echoes.

Is that a gold played festival?
This was written for Benny Goodman
Good performance. But does it lack Jazzy energy? Maybe.
This is not a jazz concerto, it's not Artie Shaw!
it sounds alltogether very 'efficient' (what is OK in the third and final part of the concerto, NOT in the first en cadenza-like second part). Pity.
