Great video !!! I have found that all 3 ( Carbon Z Cub, Timber, and Maule ) of my E-Flite airplanes that come with floats balance nicely on the gear, then are tail heavy once the floats are put on. I solved the problem by adding small weights to the bow of each float. The foam is thick enough to cut in a shallow pocket and place a 1/4 or 1/2 once weight down in and cover it with white tape. It is hardly visible and then allows to go from gear to floats and back without re-balancing or re-trimming. Also love your float color trim, I did much the same with mine using the sticky back monocote trim in yellow, red, and black. It really adds to the look.
Superb video, great music, great scenery at dusk with the lights on the plane, editing transition cuts, Horizon Hobby Eflite should hire you to do their product videos for release, worthy to bookmark .
I had the same problem you are having getting her off the water smoothly, I moved my floats forward about 3mm, when moving them it dropped the tail 1-2mm giving a bit or positive incidence when on the step, helped tremendously with the jumping off the water and CG dilemma. hope this might help, Cheers from North Carolina!!
Hey NorthSweden RC. Can i use this video to show my students? Because its an good example for (Video making with flying objects) Because the video was very impressive to me and the music fit very well to the video. Do you need any credit or so for me to show it for my students?
Thanks for a very nice video (good music selection). i have tried liftoff from water without suceess. do you pull the stick during running on water or just at top speed?
i have solved the problem. i have used 2200 mah battery and aligend again the floats to be paralel. dont use 3000 mah batttery on water, you will get a nose heavy plane
Where did you get those awesome decales for your floats? Mine didnt come with any decals or designs. Not that it really matters I guess. I probably will not flaot plane mine until late fall anyways. I have decided to switch out those bouncy rubber tires for the less agressive foam tires as found on the beaver.
Very nice video! Compared to mine, it seems nose heavy on it's floaters. This is of course a very subjective impression. I will measure my CG next time I mount the floaters and get back to you. How many amps does your 4S have?
Claude Duval I havent tryed mine on floats yet. I am switching to a less bouncy foam tire however. Those large rubber tires easily throw me back in the air, almost every time. A short full rudder landing can really shoot me back in the air. I then aim for the tall weeds. Its my only saviour on an overshot landing and a high bounce.
RC Hobbyist Extreme That's astonishing to hear. This might be because I am landing on quite a long grass strip. I really enjoy the slow flying capabilities. If there is a bit of wind, I don't even use any flaps. If I am making a high approach, I switch the throttle off completely, slow it down over a few meters of horizontal flight and touch down at very low speed.
What a gorgeous location! That glassy smooth water is perfect!
Thanks!
Buying this plane in a few days. Hope to have this kind of BEAUTY.

Lovely video. thank you! This plane is just so wonderful to fly from the water; I feel such a childlike sense of joy with every takeoff and landing!
Great video! So relaxing and I love the effort to capture scale shots! Thanks for putting this together!
Great flying and a very cool video! Your music selection was very fitting also.
Good tip, nice scale flying, and beautiful location.
much enjoyed.......I must take to the water!
Of course!

Thanks, i appreciate it :)
Beautiful aircraft on floats....definitely on my short list but I am a newbie and will wait a bit.
Really nice video. Well done!

No credit. Use it how much you want. Thanks.

I made them myself with color tape.
NorthSweden RC You did an awesome job of what I could see.
Very nice video! Compared to mine, it seems nose heavy on it's floaters. This is of course a very subjective impression. I will measure my CG next time I mount the floaters and get back to you. How many amps does your 4S have?
35 Amps on my 260 mAh 4S Lipo in the video.

Great video...what is the title of the background music...I want it to put me to sleep...very nice.
The title of the background music is
15 Minute Positive Energy Meditation Music_ Relax Mind Body, Calming Music, Soothing Music
I love flying my UMX timber on floats. Get 10 mosquito bites every time I fly it though.
