I'm Lane, owner of Lane Myers Construction been going on 31 years and we're super proud of this project
I met these clients nine years ago build them a very nice home in Draper and they've gone from clients to dear friends anyhow they have this dream of of building on the large piece of ground and kind of being off the grid above a reservoir that they can fish and bolt in and so they came to me and we started drying up plans and it was off to the races from there.
This home is truly built like no other home i mean it's that the fact that we're so far off the grid we built this whole home off of a generator and we had to drill a well we had to put in a roadway you saw the guard rails coming up i mean we basically put in our own highway to get to this thing it's been a huge undertaking like ginormous it took that much labor and that much attention and it just we're super proud of it.
This particular owner we met up here and he wanted to hang off the hill so we literally carved and dug in the rocks literally rocks we've got walls that are pushing 30 feet tall it's like something that you've never never seen before and it's built i mean it's built like a fortress this is here forever this is an estate property you know if he knows those pillars out back those are true 30 inch diameter concrete pillars it's a super cool project they can live here year around that creates all kinds of different things as you can imagine to have a home in the mountains that can be self-sufficient just think of all the things you have to do to get to there water power electric gas all of it you know we've got gas buried underground they could go years there's all kinds of cool things that were done on this property.
These people are super generous giving people they're just humble down the earth i just love them I respect them they have a youth conference here they're continually doing for the community and whatnot and i think it's going to be again a legacy home it will stay with their kids it will be here that they'll make memories to last a lifetime they've already made so many memories i mean they don't want to leave when they come up here which i don't blame them.
It took 19 months to get a permit because of all the unique situations it's that far in the back country.
It's the largest project I've ever built and sold to come through it at this point and see it and then to see them enjoying it making those memories it's like ah it was worth it you know but as soon as we're done we gear up and we're on to the next project and i'm honored that they would trust me and my company so we're super grateful for the opportunities that we've been given.
