My void cat purrs if you so much as look at him, which is such a delightful personality trait in a cat. How these animals ever got a reputation for being cold and aloof I can't fathom.
The concern is great 🥰 yes, purring is almost always a sign of relaxation and comfort, but constant purring can be a sign of an underlying issue, such as pain. Good on you for noticing, bad on Nanaki for causing his owner to stress out just because he’s perpetually happy lol
I've had cats all my life. 7 years ago, my mama cat went into labor and purred the entire time. I've never actually known a cat to purr while in pain. It totally blew my mind.
@PawleyGirl wild, isn't it? From what I understand, it can be a method of self-soothing, and some vets hypothesize that the vibration may have physical benefits for pain management.
@@DondarfSnowbonk me too! X Wish you all the best, life is tough sometimes, just keep it in the day and keep on keeping on!! You must be a good person just to like these vids. Xx 😻🍁🙏🌷🌷🌷
My little orange son purrs non-stop, too. He's just the world's happiest cat. My big orange son only purrs when he wants something, but that makes it extra charming somehow.
Our Prancer was just like that. A vet was astounded when he purred through having a catheter inserted-all three times it happened. They could never listen to his lungs or heart accurately because of the purring. Love the goofy, orange boys!
THE UPSIDE DOWN ORANGE AND THE PURRZ. I cannot even. I have an orange with half a collective brain cell who purrs nonstop, too. He sees me come in the door every end of the day and trots over to trip me repeatedly until I eventually faceplant in my couch. I can even play with his ears and mouth and make him a bat or give him a grin, and he just sits there and sings. ❤
Nanaki's playing his person! I've got three orange flavors and they don't act like what Renus is describing! They do always purrrr! Motors are in great shape!
It's cuz he is polydactyl. Those cats act funny and purrrrr constantly. I know a house that has 7 different polys and they all purr heavy and act strange like your orange. It's adorable and I love it.
Was he a stray before? I’ve found that stray cats that become house cats just have this extra happiness, like they are so grateful to have a warm home 😊
I was doing taxidermy for a bit and the guy i was working with had an orange boy who loved to hang out in the shop and "help out" he was always purring. Mindless happiness
Our Biggie who we used to have (also a big orange house lion) was similar. If he knew or suspected pets were coming he'd start the motor. He also smiled when petted.
Well if he is constantly happy, then you're probably doing something (or more likely many somethings) right. Nothing wrong with having an easy to please kitty either. He's happy, healthy, safe, and loved, that is the reason he is purring.
Our orange cat has the loudest purr of any cat I've had. When he lies on my chest it vibrates through my whole body. I think it actually is healing for me.
My tabby/calico Buffy was like that. You looked at her and she would start purring, let alone pet her. She was just happy as can be to have a home. She was the gentlest sweetheart. I could be poking at her belly (gently) and she'd have her mouth open like she wanted to bite me, grab my hand with her paws (claws completed sheathed) bring my hand up to her face, and lick my hand to request I stop. Even her licks were gentle. My void Jareth licks aggressively with full force sandpaper tongue. Buffy would do the teeniest lick with the tip of her tongue where it was smooth.
My orange girl also never stops purring, and so loudly. If you even think about her she starts the motor. We isolated her in the bathroom when we got her and we would walk past the closed door and hear her purring through the door. She's just a happy little goof who loves life.
My orange chaos baby, G'raha, had a severe upper respiratory infection when I adopted him from the shelter and he's got mild aftereffects, but nothing that affects his health, thank goodness. He squonks when he sleeps and has little breaks in his purring. It just adds to his mega-orange charm.
My orange rarely talked. He saved his conversations for rare occasions with me, ir when he wanted to let his toddler friend know he was on his way to see her. Then he'd chatter at me to hurry up with the leash because his friend was waiting for him. Cutest relationship ever!
Nah, my adopted tortie stray always purred. Even when the vets needed to shave some areas. They were amazed. On another note, I recently saw a channel called wasubi sushi matcha. She fosters kittens until they get adopted. She recently had two called po and tayto, and yes, tayto was orange and very feisty/ loud
Tato was an absolute screamer. Orange Clementine from the fosters before Tato was also quite noisy. Her current pair are two little greybies, named Noodles and Dumpling (she calls the pair together "the noods"). Wasabi sushi matcha is the channel (named for her own three cats).
Reminds me of an acquaintance who had to take their dog to the vet during covid, due a mysterious tail injury. Turns out, it had just been so perpetually happy and wagging its tail from having everyone home during quarantine, that it sprained its tail.
We rescued a feral stray from a gas station. I ended up with a broken finger & an overnight stay getting iv antibiotics b/c of it & we lost her in my car. When we finally found her, I put her into the cage I’d prepared for her in my house, which was in the living room. I was in my laundry room, on the other side of the kitchen and could hear her purring all the way across the house. She’s an absolute love bug now, totally worth the hospital stay.
My orange cat was the same - if he was awake, he was purring! (and when he was asleep he was snoring) The first few times he went to the vet they couldn't hear his heartbeat because he wouldn't stop purring!
My orange baby only stopped purring when he wasn't near me, which rarely happened. My mom once tried to pet him while he was next to me. He also stopped then. I held my hand over him as he's sleeping and he starts purring again. RIP Garfield. I miss you.
In my lifetime I've had two orange cats. The last, Mr. Bailey, I had for 20 years. He thought he was actually my baby. He was orange as they come and you're correct, orange cats are special. 😻😁😻
Ive got a void flavored one named Bumble that also purrs if you so much as look at him. Across the room, you make eye contact, next thing you know he's on your lap and purring louder than any other cat I've met.
Can't wait to get another orange boy! I love my grey tabby to death....but when we had to put her sister down....reality sets in....The joy of having cats way out lasts the the sad times......😊
Years ago, a tortie baby with blue eyes ran into the traffic lines street during a red light. I managed to catch her. She was the most wonderful kutten until she turned 8 months old and I had her spayed. She never again purred much until her younger orange creamsicled "brother" passed. They did not care for wach other. But once she was sure that he was gone, she purred non-stop for two weeks straight!! Quite a girl, she lived until she was like 18.
Vets are never able to listen to my cat's heartbeat during checkups because he purrs too loud... they tried making him stop but as soon as you touch him he's on vibrate, my boy loves physical touch too damn much
Nanaki is definitely a very happy (and handsome) boy, but purring can also be a means of self comfort for them. I had an epileptic cat who would purr during every seizure and both of my orange girls purred a lot when they were nearing the end of the proverbial road and feeling quite poorly. Not to bring the room down. Just it's a common misconception that purring = everything's great and perpetuating that idea can lead to owners not taking their fluffy child for medical help they may actually need.
Our sadly departed orange boy would not let you pick him up or hold him for an instant, but any time my wife sat down he was up on the sofa behind her scrubbing his head against hers.
My perpetual purr machine is black of coat but sugar-white of personality. Walk in the room, he purrs. Pet him, he purrs. Litterbox, food bowl, water fountain? Purr. I waited for him to tell me his name; nothin' but purrs. Finallly told him his name was Buzzy. He purred. Your Orange One sounds as if he is just plain happy to be your master. Lucky you both.
Had a giant creamsicle boy who's purr was so powerful and so continuous, the vets couldn't hear his heartbeat. They had to purposefully upset him to stop his purr, which took blowing in his ears and sticking their fingers in his mouth. I'd given my permission, and it took quite a bit of this antagonizing before he finally stopped purring just long enough to check his heart. He immediately went back to being the dumbest happiest cat to ever walk the earth.
I once had a little black cat (though he fathered - by acicdent, the female cat in the house went into heat the day before he went in to be neutered but apparently that was enough - an orange cat so he obviously had that in him and he was also a little "you looked at me so now I must purr" monster to the extent that at his first appointment the vet said (while give him his shots) "Where's the volume button?" lol
It’s…it’s just normal for them to purr all the time. It’s like hearing someone’s heartbeat, right? Least that’s what I always thought as a kid. Or maybe both our family cat and my cat now loved me a lot…🥹
My orange cat is the same way he purrs no matter what. We thought the same thing vet visit later and healthier. Orange cats are just a breed of there own still to this day think there not from earth at this point
My void cat purrs if you so much as look at him, which is such a delightful personality trait in a cat. How these animals ever got a reputation for being cold and aloof I can't fathom.
I had a cat who purred so loudly when ANYONE touched him, that the vets had a hard time checking his heartbeat.
Aloof, yes, cold, if you forget the treats.
I love the void cats!! :)
They were using dogs as a staple of how cats show affection.
Our tuxie kitten purrs non-stop even if he's getting his nails clipped
I can NOT take my eyes off the ABSOLUTE CUTENESS of an upside down orange.😍😍
Purrs are one of the BEST sounds ever!!
Yes!!!! 👍
Absolutely!

that purring is the engine idling. he's ok
😂😅😂😅
@sarahfullerton6894 pull the tail to rev it
Yeah, but that does affect gas milage.
Your videos about your orange flavored son (and children of other flavors) are a real bright spot in my life right now.

The purr brought a smile to my face!

That is a wonderful, CLEVER cat.😊 kudus to you for his immense happiness ❤
I’ve had several red cats, all male, and they never struck me as dumb…maybe very laidback, easygoing or happy go lucky. Just sweet boys.
once every......never. LOL. Love your vibe, and your vibrating cat!
That’s a happy boy all day every day I wish I was that little guy
He is just on permanent Relax Mode
Purrmanent
Omgosh, Nanaki's purrs are way too cute! Orange boys for life 🧡
At this point purring is Nanaki’s branding move. Love the signature Nanaki purr!
THE UPSIDE DOWN ORANGE AND THE PURRZ. I cannot even. I have an orange with half a collective brain cell who purrs nonstop, too. Nanaki's sweet little orange head is empty of everything except pure happiness! 🧡
My orange boy is exactly the same! Our Caddy Boy loves everything and everyone, except the Swifter mop. That is is 1 true enemy, lol!
Do you call him Caddyshack?
You and your our cats make me laugh every day.❤
Such a sweet joyful boy.
My black and white cat finnegan ia exactly the same way. Non stop purring lol
Such a sweet ginger boy!
I have a big fluffy tabby and I'll catch her purring like an engine just randomly. I love her so much, she's such a goof
He's the purriest boy. 🧡
My orange son purrs loud enough that you can hear it across the room.
He's so cute. I love cats
Nanaki's playing his person! I've got three orange flavors and they don't act like what Renus is describing! They do always purrrr! Motors are in great shape!
Bro's the definition of just happy to be here.
He must really love you 😻.
Ignorance is bliss. Purr filled bliss! 😂
Everyone should be this happy and loved 😂
He's such a pretty cat too. It's okay if he doesn't have brain cells, mine doesn't either lol.
It's cuz he is polydactyl. Those cats act funny and purrrrr constantly. I know a house that has 7 different polys and they all purr heavy and act strange like your orange. It's adorable and I love it.
Ignorance is bliss. That’s why he’s so happy. 😂
Such a sweet sweet kitty!
There are lessons to be learned from that kind of contentment!!!🐈🐈🐈🧡🧡🧡
Our Biggie who we used to have (also a big orange house lion) was similar. If he knew or suspected pets were coming he'd start the motor. He also smiled when petted.
Dear Toby, another happy orange boy who purred and purred. He never raised a paw to small children, never hissed or swore. He was a gentleman.
I think you need a "hawk glove" for those murder mittens. Such a good orange 🍊 boy
Had a cat named Pii when I was a kid. Same thing, the cat never stopped purring. Nothing wrong with his health, he was just a happy sweetheart.
Well if he is constantly happy, then you're probably doing something (or more likely many somethings) right. Nothing wrong with having an easy to please kitty either.
He's happy, healthy, safe, and loved, that is the reason he is purring.
Sounds to me like he's a jolly cat. 💚
Proof that ignorance is bliss
my orange boy also purrs nonstop. it's so sweet
I have two orange boys. they are happy, too. ignorance is bliss!

It's good you got him checked out cause sometimes purring is a sign of distress or injury. I'm glad he's just a happy boy. Lol
Nanaki showed up, and has had the time of his life continuously since. He just absolutely loves existence
My black cat was the same. Originally, the calico was too, but she toned down once she got used to her new home. Lol
Just an orange dude living his best life.
We could all learn from Nanaki.
Ha ha!! My orangie purrs ALL THE TIME too.
He is adorabley happy!!
He just loves you. Loves being around you. He's probably not purring when you're not around.
Purring, eating, sleeping and holdable. Seems like he likes you.

"Perpetually purring" so... purrpetually?
This is honestly so adorable
In my lifetime I've had two orange cats. The last, Mr. Bailey, I had for 20 years. He thought he was actually my baby. He was orange as they come and you're correct, orange cats are special. 😻😁😻
I am so glad you love your orange son so much. My late orange lasted 22 years..I hope yours live many more. ❤❤❤

Aww he’s a happy boy!
God, I wish I could be as happy as Nanaki, some days…

Purring is the best sound in the world.
Golden retriever: if it moves I will friend it. And smile. And be happy.
Orange cats: yes 👏 same.
My orange cat is the same way he purrs no matter what. We thought the same thing vet visit later and healthier.
Orange cats are just a breed of there own still to this day think there not from earth at this point
Ah, when I pay attention to the dark abyss, she purrs back even if dhe looks right back and ready to kill you.
Nothing like an orange boy!
I have an orange kitten w the same fur type but I’ve had to build lids for the garbage cans he’s incredibly orange
