Here from Canada. Appreciate the review! I’ve been running in ON’s Waterproof Cloudvista’s, which have been monsters for all seasons - especially spring and the first month or two of winter. Really stoked about the Norda 001 G+ Spike release. Could be the perfect option for the depths of ice season
I'm a massive Norda fan now. I just finished Te Araroa in NZ and these were a saviour. The TA is so tough on gear. I tried both Hokka Speed Goat 5s and Altra Olympus, and both only lasted about 500km before they started falling apart. I switched to Norda in Wellington and finished the whole 1400km South Island in them. The bottom sole has just about worn out but the rest of the shoe is still going strong. That makes it so weird to see people complain about the cost. My pair cost me NZ$450 but they lasted way longer than 2 pairs of NZ$350(ish) shoes. My only real complaint was the laces, they would come undone everyday even if I tightly double knotted them. I just read on Norda website that they also are made from some dyneema which probaly explains why they were so slippery... but its so easy to change to different shoe laces.
Correction. They were design in Canada. Maybe at the beginning they were made there, but now they are all from overseas in China. I just got my 003 today❤
Good video, I used the Norda 001s for backpacking a couple of days in the Canadian Rockies and the only thing I’ve found is by the end I the ankle support wasn’t the best in scramble / rocky terrain. Water crossings were amazing in them, water gets in but they dry as quickly. I’m looking at maybe getting the 002s with that lower stack height to fix the stability issue…
Bought a pair and loved them so much, bought my 2nd as well. They just seem to last. Work well for anything from trail runs to hikes to even casual daily.
I’m confident in them after using them this whole last year. My big question mark is will I get through all of California (1700 miles) in one pair??? We shall see…
I’m liking the idea of a vibram midsole. I like the Altra Timp 2 and 3 because of their quantic midsole, but they stopped incorporating that in their Timps, so I’ve been looking for a new shoe. I have a very flat foot, so I can’t wear shoes that have much of an arch height…How’s the arch in these?
@@Sean.Haworth you’ve sold me on these. My first pair came in a week ago and done some hiking and trail running here in AZ. Liked them so much, my 2nd pair arrives today 🤪
Hi Sean, this is a great review! How’s the sizing compared to speedgoats ? I am 10,5 in Hoka and Saucony but need a roomier tow box and a minimal arch support. Greeting from Greece✌🏻
I appreciate the insight on Norda. Had never heard of them until this video. I've used Altra & New Balance for years, but quality has declined recently for both, in my opinion. Experiencing sticker shock looking at Norda! Maybe Santa will hook me up. 😀
I hear ya on the sticker shock. However the $ per mile value is where it all makes sense imo. Thanks for dropping a line. Circle back if you do get em I’d love to hear your thoughts.
Is the arch high? I tried a Topo MTN racer 3 and the arch was so high it was painful. Returned them and looking for alternatives. HOKA SG 6 seem too stiff compared to my SG 5 in 2E wides
Is this the Ether? Did you consider the Norda one without laces? Will probably depend on how much the upper fits to a foot shape which is always very different from foot to foot. But i think an ideal shoe would be one tailored to ones foot without any laces. The only problem with this Norda is that there is 0 adjustment possible, if you have the wrong foot size it just won't fit.
Bought a pair on sale, but they look better in pictures than in person. Yet to run in them, but I expect heel blisters. Disappointed by subpar craftsmanship, with messy glue residue and scuffs. Feels like I fell for marketing and paid a premium to cover R&D costs.
@@ADyess086 I have to run for work, and I'm constantly trying out different brands and the top-rated shoes, and this, by far, has been my worst experience yet. I just figured I must have gotten fake shoes or something because my experience has been completely different than what people are saying online.

Congrats on the TA! Great info to add here thanks friend 🫡

Great video and Greta review! Thanks for sharing and hope the PCT went well!
Norda's FOR LIFE!
Did you get the 002s???
I do! Love them! The heel counter and amazing and the toebox is a perfect fit. Though, I do tend to grab my 001s, well, I used to ;)

Yeah nice! Greatly appreciate you chiming in. Good luck with the 002s 🫡
Enjoyed your very informative review 🎉
Both 001 and 002's have become my go to trail shoes.
Yeah!! How you liking the 002s??? I haven’t got my hands on a pair yet
Bought a pair and loved them so much, bought my 2nd as well. They just seem to last. Work well for anything from trail runs to hikes to even casual daily.
Love to hear it. I’m thinking I’ll re outsole my first pair here this fall… might be a fun project
@@Sean.Haworthnow this, if this is possible by all means document it please! Would be revolutionary in running shoe game.
They're a small company based in Quebec, Canada, but the shoes are manufactured in China.
ah! I thought id heard production was in CA. ill have to figure out how to edit the vid. ill pin your comment
I’m curious how these will work for you on a long distance trail. Will have to wait for your review after.

Arch in these is pretty minimal. Low and stable. 5mil drop feels pretty refreshing to the stride after being in altras. These might be for you.
New timp 5 has Vibram
@@ADyess086 I see vibram outsole yeah, but I haven’t found anything on midsole…

Greatings to you!! I would say size up a half size. I wear 10.5 in most shoes but 11 was it for me in norda

can you talk about 001 sizing situation? compare to nike/salomon?
Norda is consistently 1/2 size larger in US sizing. I wear 10.5 in Nike and Salomon and 11 in Norda. Thanks for asking: )
Holy shit. 350 for a shoe is an outrageous price. But glad you love em
$285 for the ones I’m wearing. Price per mile makes them equivalent to any other quality shoe.
I got it for $220😊

I’d like to try out the 003 for wearing around, but i prefer laces to customize the fit. Not the Ether, These are the forest and the white/gum
@@Sean.Haworth Im interested in a Boa System fit. Just not that many choices. And the one i would like to try is always sold out.
I've only heard good things, but cant pull the trigger with a 500 dollar shoe (nzd), I want to though
I hear ya!! It’s stretch. But I’d bet that the the Kilometers per nzd will be better than any other shoes on the market. Less waist in the bin also.
I heard they dry and drain pretty poorly
True they don’t really drain. They’ve dried well for me. The upper doesn’t obsorb anything really. Just the insole gusset and leather interior.
I have 450+ miles in a pair and haven't had drainage issues.
I think they are owned by Canada but made in China?
Confirmed

Huge bummer Ryan! Where did you order them from? Please circle back after a few runs and tell us if the blisters are a thing?
My experience has been the opposite
I’ve seen this guy comment on all the posts. Reddit, too. Are you the same guy asking about fakes ?

not made in Canada, sorry to spoil your dream;)
