    What I learned from Harry during this wonderful series of videos I made obvious to my wife. I love guitars and I love tennis and clearly we need to plan a vacation to Japan and pack lightly. 😂 The vibe of these videos was like a Harry Potter village where every 50 yards is a hole in the wall tennis shop with 2000 racquets..

    Great series of videos Harry. Really enjoyed them 👏👏👏. I’m not surprised Yonex is No1 there being Japan, but being quality. After all they are popular Worldwide. Japan has always been associated with quality - that goes for cars too. Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Mitsubishi etc known the world over for quality. So it makes sense that there Tennis products are no different. Hats off. Now, for that Regna Comparison 😉 (98 & 100)

      Would be great to see Harry out here, but hope he allocates time to go non-tennis sightseeing. Could be an anti-climax after Japan, but at least we speak (some sort of) English here. And we have great coffee!

      At 15:15 of the Windsor video, the price listed was 41360 Yen or $313. 😮 At that price, they would fly off the shelf here in the states.

    • @tyeaway
      @tyeaway Год назад +1

      Regna cost at Winsor = (41360 - 8% tax)/130 approx exchange rate = $292. Came with free PTP at $18 makes racquet cost $274. I hope he got the racquet cover it comes with. (It's tax free if you bring your passport.)

    I live in Japan and play in relatively large group where I'm the only foreigner. When I first joined, everyone wanted to compare their feet to my U.S. size 13-1/2. I have bought every pair of tennis shoes I own (more than a dozen) and imported them from the states or Europe. There is no way you'll find a 12 or larger here, unless you can afford to have them custom made. And yes, the vast majority of folks here have very wide feet--short--but wide, at least by my standards.
    As for dampeners, most people use them, and they lean toward Kimony, though I do see a lot of Yonex, Wilson, etc as well. A lot of women use no name brands that feature smiling cats, cat paws, dog faces, sun shapes, etc.
    Finally, Japan doesn't use street addresses as we use them in the U.S. The best way to get around is by train or subway, and once you're in the area where you want to be, ask a local or hop in taxi--Japanese taxi drivers go through a rigorous address test which seems to be rooted in knowing a series of landmarks (literally thousands of them). Go figure...

    In general, tennis shoes are on the narrow side, which is not good for feet.

    Dood, I just got to Tokyo yesterday, but we're here for just 1 night. Didn't make it to Shibuya last night. Really enjoying your videos! Heading to Guam then the Philippines today. I brought a pair of my old favorite sticks (Prostaff Classic 6.1's, I just switched to Blade v6) that I am just going to leave a relative's house in the Philippines. Safe travels to you and your family.

    Thought all the shops mentioned best selling multifilament is X1-BiPhase.
    But yeah, great series of video. Hopefully next time you can visit Yonex's office/factory like what TW did. Maybe attend a tournament there too?

    That dampener had an Iomic logo on it, a Japanese company perhaps better known for their golf grips.
    Enjoy that Regna; looking forward to the review.
