I bought a set last year and while I liked them, I did have issues with them randomly losing connection occasionally and ended up losing confidence in using them in the outdoor environments I usually perform in. I ended up selling mine and buying a midi fighter twister to go along with my 3D and I love that setup.
For sure! I play in a lot of dusty outdoor venues too so this is my concern. But so far they are pretty fun. Going to try to keep them clean and see how they hold up over time
They're pretty sturdy. If you crank two faders hard in opposite directions you can definitely pop em apart, but if you are mindful of what you are mapping dont VJ like an animal they are fine 😂 . Played several gigs with them without any issues like that. The video demo was an exaggerated scenario just to show its possible.
Did you end up doing this? I cant find any videos on any Djs using it with Traktor except one from them 5 years ago. Id love to know how you are getting along!?
@@CazCoronel No, not yet. Havent had the extra cash. I ended up getting a brand new X1 mk3 and financing it through AMS. i love that site. Still would love to, but I gotta save. This SSDI shit sucks. LOL
@@djlehara thanks so much for getting back to me so quickly. I'm trying to decide between this and a midi twister. The Grid is so cool, juts just the flimsy connections that worry me. How are you finding the x1 MK3? I would get this if it was more portable!
@@CazCoronel Actually, it seems more portable than any of the traktor hardware. The only reason I went with the X! mk3 was because I could finance it for zero interest. The tiny screens are hard to see, but the new drum machine feature is dope, and you can flip it into mixer mode quickly. If I was spending cash, I would just get 2 used X1 mk2's, add a few f1's and boom!! instant s-5 or s-8 that fits ina backpack.
I’m still using a generation 1 of these controllers. I love them and forgive the short falls as they are primarily designed as music studio controllers. Super flexible and much cheaper /smaller than any other modular controllers. My biggest is losing connection when Not perfectly flat, however I think the newer designed housing is supposed to be better (rounded edges etc help) The software is awesome and opens up so much more possibility over any other controller I’ve tried. I’ve created conditionals to create game control combo style paring. I made a video a few years back where I created the option to have push and turn on the endless encoders” ruclips.net/video/rcIdh61kVAA/видео.htmlsi=nJvAcVbIVqm8OXkC
MITH the legend in the house! Thanks for weighing in! Glad to hear they are still holding up well for you. And yeah I think that if you are aware of their quirks and the scenarios they were initially designed for they can definitely be really fun and super useful for us as well. Your video about setting up combos was really interesting! I need to dig into editor more and try using more of that type of functionality, but I am glad you are out there doing it and sharing with us.
What do you think of the Intech GRID controllers? Have you tried them?
Ripped my first gig with them last night. I’ve loved them so far
Nice! Just saw your insta story lol. Glad to hear you like them

@@SeanBoweshello,do u know about strip led tube effects in resolume?
Nice one Sean! Definitely some cool tech.
Minmaxing your console by physically changing the configurations of modules sounds like a fun challenge on some house gig
Right?! Could be fun
Great one!
Thank you! Cheers!
I would wonder with a rowdy FOH would they fall apart mid show?
Like you just explained in the video... After I hit send... Lol fml

Can you turn them upside down? Rotate the panels 180 degrees?
Yes 90, 180, 270
thinking about dropping the cash on 4 modules to build a portable Traktor Pro setup. Looks clean, sleek. 2 PB4, 1 pot16 and 1 tek2...yesh
Sounds like a nice setup!

Your audio is not in sync with your video. Good review though.
Thanks for the heads up and for the feedback. I will keep an eye on that more in the future
