Thailand Trip 2023 Part 1 - Bangkok Vlog

Welcome to my first RUclips Video! This is the 1st of 3 videos vlogging my trip to Thailand last year which was separated into 3 towns - Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Koh Samui. Bangkok was a good transition from NYC to Thailand because it’s very much a metropolis city. What was beautiful to see, even as we were flying in, was how stark the contrast was between old temples and new, glass skyscrapers! It showed me that the Thai community is looking to progress and evolve with the world but is still able to preserve and celebrate its ancient culture.
Hotel: Banyan Tree Hotel Bangkok
We loved this hotel. It has great amenities, modern and clean rooms, great and friendly staff, a fantastic breakfast spread and venue, and an unbelievable rooftop bar called Vertigo.
Day 1: check in at Banyan Tree Hotel Bangkok
Day 2: Wat Pho, Reclining Buddha, Massage School, malls, Vertigo Rooftop Bar at Banyan Tree Hotel Bangkok, dinner at Issaya Siamese Club (must order - massaman curry, soft shell crab)
Day 3: Wat Arun, the Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, lunch at Rongros (reservations are a must, order the fish cake, spring rolls and tiger prawns), Vertigo Rooftop Bar, dinner at Maze Restaurant (Chef May from Top Chef All Stars, 10 course tasting menu)
Day 4: Breakfast/Lunch at Jay Fai (incredibly long wait time - no reservations - make sure to come early to be put on the waitlist, order the fried crab omelet***), malls and shopping, Night Market at Asiatique, clubbing at Club DJ Station in the Silom District (gay bar)
Day 5: Chatuchak Market (largest, outdoor, weekend market in Asia), dinner at Issaya Siamese Club again because it was so good the first time
