- Non-Compete = an agreement, or clause, that outlines where an employee is allowed to work after leaving their current employer; they try to stop former employees from revealing trade secrets, or taking strategies, to a competing business
We did a video about non-compete clauses last week, and we saw a lot of comments saying ‘just don’t tell your boss where you’re going’. It’s important to note that your employer could still find out where you work, and enforce the non-compete in the future - IF the non-compete is actually enforceable.
In some locations, like California, Oklahoma, North Dakota and Ontario, Canada non-competes are banned, and in other locations they can still be hard for employers to enforce.
So, look into your location’s laws, your employment contract, and see what’s best for you!

The FTC just dtruck down all noncompete clauses for all jobs nationwide.
Not all there are some exemption mainly for people who make policies like executives
Those policies should be illegal 😡 this is capitalism, where competition creates wealth that creates inovation.
The Biden admin just made them illegal nationwide...
Non compete clauses have been made unenforceable...
Depends on where….like the video said.
What about the ones that were signed before the legislation was passed ?
@@angelfire101they literally hold up nowhere in the united state in the court of law. No judge will even waste their time in some scumbag employee trying to interfere with an employee or ex employees life.
