I was not even aware people were unhappy with Wildshade. I thought most people were quite happy with it. As far as I can see it's an okay game with basic graphics. Nothing to get excited about - just a basic horse game, nothing ground breaking or anything. But I'm sorry you got such a vicious backlash for playing a game. Uncalled for. You do you Denise! ♥
Yeah obviously it's inspired by Alicia online but I'm going to play it. Alicia online and every other horse game I've ever played took inspiration from another game except for gallop racer. Gallop racer and G1 jockey were their own class.

Not really. Alot of us are just pissed off at Wildshade getting so much promo and visibility when it's a full on rip off of other existing games.

Correct me if I'm wrong I guess, but it's just a fucking free game and it doesn't need to get this much hate. It's a charming little game that decided it was going to be a tiny bit different and it's FUCKING MOBILE, for a mobile game to be that fluent in its early testing stages is fucking bonkers, I think people should be proud of them for accomplishing that much for a horse game that I know I've secretly wanted because Alicia Online was slowly dying (whether it be because of breeding addiction, mentally ill people being depressed, or just straight up tired of it and wanting something new but similar) and of course no hate to star stable right? Nah, they suck up money, they're the only online open world horse game with crisp animations and a picky community.

i feel like i understand why people are so mad, especially being an artist myself and knowing how much time and effort goes into a project. Alicia online isn't a big and popular game either and just a passion project. it can feel very shit when people copy your work and earn money off of it. of course alicia isn't a super original game, but it's very clear that Wildshade has copied something. (turns out they admitted to it on their twitter too) i don't support hating on people who enjoy playing Wildshade, and they have every right to like it. i am mostly just angry at the devs, because they know what they are doing and they simply just don't care.
The fact that they admitted to copying is a clear fire way of saying "We're not original so we stole and copied"
Alicia is not a passion project or copied, the previous devs revived the original game years after it shut down

i totally agree with you dennis (for some reason i don’t know how to spell your name LMAO ignore that) about the wildshade topic. i wasn’t expecting people to be so mad about it and start making mountains out of molehills. i personally enjoy the fact that it’s like ao because i’ve always wanted to play ao but it’s not compatible for mac, so it’s a win-win for me! i can’t wait to play ive been counting down the days💚i’m not a fan of the cartoon style either but i’m going to try it out anyways :)
Comparing Mario Kart and AO isn't the same as comparing 2 games like AO and Wildshade, because even though AO definitely took inspiration from Mario Kart, they are still somewhat different (unlike Wildshade which has basically all the same features and mechanics of AO) Alicia Onlines concept is very unique and I personally enjoy the mechanics of it. I do agree that people shouldn't make it such a big deal, and that Wildshade took lots of inspo from AO, even so this doesn't mean that they directly copied. I still think its still kind of disappointing that we got a new horse game that's not necessarily unique??? (there are only so many ways to make a horse racing game, so i was expecting something similar, but not THIS similar). I do still think Wildshade is a pretty game, and ill give it a try at some point :)

I wish I could agree with the inspiration part of this video. But there is a fine line between taking inspiration and full blown copying a game. No one wants to make unique games anymore and instead think it would be way better to just copy everyone else's "homework"

Being inspired and outright stealing/copying something from another game is *completely* different. That's what a lot of people either don't understand or just don't realize.
Wildshade is not a game when it litery is a clone of Alicia online at least Alicia online didn't copy everything they actually put some thoughts to it and ideas but when It comes to wild shade it's like me copying someone's homework and not even changing anything just a clone

Okay I have to say something here, I disagree with you telling people to shut up. They have the right to express their opinion about a game. Everyone has that right. And I sort of agreed with them about how the game was basically a direct copy of AO and Rival Stars into one game. But I do like that there were some different things about it. That's my opinion, and it's a common opinion. You might get sick of seeing it, but that does not mean you should tell people to shut up. That is not what a respectful critique does. You don't get to give your opinion and then shut others down just because you see the same opinion too often.
That said, It's an interesting little game for fun that's nice to have on the phone and I will be trying it out reguardless of my criticism towards it. I probably won't be making any purchases on it though and I will probably only play it when I'm taking a poo. I don't play AO or Rival Stars because I think both games lack good tack, outfits, and open world. SSO is kinda the only game that has good substance. That said, I'm waiting on Equstrian the Game to come to pc so I can try and replace SSO because I'm getting tired of their shitty business practices tbh.
My only issue with Wildshade is the fact the animations and spells were basically ripped right out of Alicia. That’s my only issue. I’m fine with someone making another horse racer that’s basically Mario Kart style, just try to be a little bit more original than that. Let’s not pretend Alicia is as much a copy of Mario Kart as Wildshade is to Alicia. If the current developer keeping Alicia alive had rights to it, they could absolutely file copy right claims, that’s how much Wildshade has copied here. I don’t want that sugar coated. But I would never get toxic towards anyone who decides to play it. You don’t deserve hate for liking the game, no one does. I personally just want to encourage the developers to maybe change the animations some, but that probably won’t happen
Also regarding Wildshade, I think it's very easy to judge a game based off of screenshots and videos. I really think you have to try the game for yourself first before saying ,,they copied this" because gameplay experience, like controls for example, can have a big impact on your opinion

Im clearly not going to play Wildshade (I got early access so I tried it out) because..they even copied items and animations..and it just feels like it’s the Same game. The difference is that wildshade wants freaking money for the ideas of other game creators. So..I prefer ao. That’s my Opinion & I hope you have a good day.

There are so many games that are exactly the same as each other/have similar concepts, etc. People making a huge deal out of Alicia Online and Wildshade being too similar are not getting anywhere as Alicia Online is more of a private project rather than an official/legal game. It's public but the person who runs it doesn't get any money out of it which explains why the game is slow on updates and is just buggy. Even if the owner of AO were to try and get Wildshade taken down, it wouldn't go through. The people who're complaining heavily on this subject are just wasting their time. Their complaints and distaste for the game are not going to get it shut down. If you prefer Alicia Online over Wildshade, then play Alicia Online (or vice versa).
The difference between Alicia Online and Wideshade is that Wildshade can be played on mobile whereas AO can't. It gives people who may want to play Alicia Online but don't have a pc the chance to play a game heavily inspired by AO. It's like an alternative for the game.
There's only one difference. Wildshade is a copy and it shouldn't exist, Denise works with Tivola team which is why he's defending the shitty copy

Alicia is not a private project but a revival of a game lost to time. NTreev doesn't exist anymore so nobody can take ownership of the game because the original game is GONE
It is still different from AO also its more Cartooney and also it might be similar but atleast things like Breeding for example are much easier since you dont have to waste that much Carrots (To breed a Horse its like between 100,000 ans 500,000 Carrots if not that many then maybe even more) so Breeding is a lot cheaper with higher Chances of getting nice Horses with good Stats. Also 2. Racing its not Laggy and annoying like Alicia Online where Players can Crash all the time so the Race has to be restarted over again and waiting for Players? Pff forget that! Also its convinient to play on the Phone for some ppl that are Lazy or dont have a PC/Mac to have a chance to play a similar game like AO. Also there still working on the Game we dont even have access to our own Profile,Inviting Friends or Multiplayer. For now I think its way better than having a Laggy game that you have to wait for a long time to enjoy and Rage at Breeding. So keep your stupid Lies/Opinions to yourself. And if you rlly think he works for the Team? Prove it I dare you bruh.

Wildshade is literally a clone of AO, but that’s fine, because we don’t have AO on mobile. Plus, competition is healthy. It’s good to have competition when it comes to video games. On pc, we’ve basically just had sso and ao forever. Yes, they’re both fine and fun to play sometimes but neither game is my favourite so I’m happy when anything decent looking comes out

The guy currently running Alicia Online has no legal rights to the game. It’s basically a private fan run server. The real developers could just come along and get it shut down anytime if they wanted but they don’t care they abandoned it.But that’s why they can’t make money off it as it would not be legal.

LOL model horse shipping is a pain in my ass man I hear you! I've had a shipment from peter stone (vencedor - he's a chip that I designed + won back in august) who was shipped out in early October. he apparently departed from LA in late October but I haven't seen any movement on his tracking since. international shipping is so annoying at the moment - I had to pay bloody $100 AUD just to ship a stablemate!

Everyone has theyre own Taste,Style,Opinion. For me its better to not fight but rather leave them alone. Its they're responsibility to work on the Game besides its not fully finished! Also its more of an improved game of AO such as Breeding and Racing. Breeding is a Rage in AO and we know that. Spending tons of Carrots aswell. In Wildshade its way easier and you get to pay less and still get Nice Horses with good Stats! Nr. 2 Racing: While in AO you have to wait till the Rooms are full wich can take alot of time for ppl to come,also when somebody disconects from a Race the Race has to start over again! And it can get pretty annoying. In Wildshade you dont have to worry (for now) bc the Players are mostly Bots and when you join a Racetrack you get to start racing right away! The best part is you can start over or leave right away! ( if thats what you want ofc) In conclusion its still in the Works so please stop getting mad over a Game bc others were copied to! How about Barbie Horse Adventures Riding Camp vs Sso! The similarities are obvious! Please try out the Game first and stop being mad about without even trying it and just complaining about it from " Screenshots and Videos" how about you Experience it first then TELL YOUR OPINION! :)
There is quite literally no reason to hate on this new game, even if they do add in app purchases, because to my knowledge they don't have any right now, similar to AO. (If you don't know the story of how AO is where it is today, let me give you some background) AO was being developed by Korean game developers, they dropped the project, the team we see now picked it up and has gotten it to the point where it is today(amazing I know). Obviosly all of the base fundamentals were there, but they picked up the project, they never bought ownership, they used the code(most likely one of the reasons AO doesn't have in app purchases other than it just being an absolute hassle) aka they don't have legal ownership. The Korean team couldn't really care less, yeah they could profit, but for what? you'd have to go through court in the end (I had about a 10-30? minute discussion about Wildshade and all of this stuff with Kuri and a bunch of other people in general in the disc server if you wanna read up on it a while back). All I'm really trying to get across is- AO can't sue Wildshade because they don't even have the legal rights to AO, if anyone were to sue Wildshade, it'd be the Koreans (sort of stole a quote from Kuri). Examples of Wildshade "copying" AO would be the magic spells(ice, shackles I believe, bolts?), map formatting, Gliding Wings ofc, And then the grinding horse racing idea- but on mobile- and sorta just shittier. Map layout is basic explanation, it has to go in a damn circle one way or another and you have to make it interesting, it's a point that's been brought up but I personally think it's an odd one, since from what I've seen Wildshade's maps are nowhere near as well thought out as AO's. Everything else is just on the fence tbh. Everything is my opinion- other than blatant facts and conversations that have happened of course, but I truly believe arguing over some damn horse games are just- ugh. Hope this gave some sort of insight.

I wish they would say they are inspired. But the fact they deny the fact of any inspiration.
I'm also indifferent. I haven't played Wildshade so ofc my words aren't gospel. From what I heard on Ao101, the creators of Wildshade stole assets and music? from AO (don't @ me, again I'm not sure). But AO isn't a business, therefore they don't own the right to horse mario Kart. Wildshade is suspiciously similar, but like other rip offs it's not really much competition for AO. Wildshade is a kids mobile game for racing horses, AO is for an older audience with more complicated features on the PC. Sure it's annoying that someone seems to be stealing someone's hard work, but at the end of the day AO is non-profit so they can't exactly claim the concept. Wildshade could be making money off of AO's concept, but legally it's not stealing. Besides, as u said the game is new, so of course in future they could add or change their game to further differentiate from AO, we just have to wait and see.
Them stealing assets is a rumor (there was no proof of this terrible claim yet), the only case I know and was confirmed by the Wildshade dev themselves is that they used Ao music as a placeholder in their teaser video without realising it, but that does not indicate any bad intention

Not gonna lie, even though this is a late comment ;-;, i do support Wildshade, because i can't play Alicia Online, if i ever get the chance i will try Alicia, but currently i can not, and Wildshade has gotten so much better through the months!

Don't get me wrong, Yes there is similarities, but to me it feels like sso style x Alicia online gameplay. I personally enjoy it, due to the fact that Alicia online IS FILLED W/ TOXICITY no matter what so I am glad to be able to remove myself more willingly to play Wildshade. And lets not mention how AWFUL breeding is on Alicia. (I know not everyone has bad luck with breeding, but me and my friends sure do.) I got to Beta Test and breeding is so much better. Alicia was built from old game files as a passion project, so its not made or kept up like a regular funded game, made by fans, who I personally feel don't care for players as a lot of people made the game because they missed it, and that ended up getting people to play. Like Denise said: Don't play the game if you feel it's just a rip off, it's that easy and simple.
I am bummed you cannot race with others like Alicia, but it's still a nice game, and I already tell it will be far less stressful than being around most of the toxic player base on Alicia.
It is about time a new game was made, I do wish it was a tad more unique than an off branded style game. I'm just happy to have a new place to escape from Alicia as I've grown bored of it and the community.

Wildshade is literally a Fantasy Horse Racing Game, it isn't that big of a deal.
I feel like people are cherry picking on which game should be similar to another or not. When we hear about a game being "Similar" to SSO we get excited, but for some reason when Wildshade is similar to another game it's suddenly the Sin of the century.
In my opinion, people have no reason to be actually mad about whether or not wildshade is like alicia or not.
Alicia has been abandoned by it's original creators, and now it's kept going by a team who take no profit from the game whatsoever. They're not losing money. It just gains popularity, if anything since new people are getting to try out this genre of games. Wildshade is a mobile game, and it can reach a lot more people.
There's just really no reason to be mad at the creators. They're such wholesome individuals. And in my opinion, if you want to play more games like Alicia, consider being a bit more open minded about it, maybe there will be even more similar games like alicia or wildshade in the future, and that adds to the fun.
The whole Wildshade drama is not neccessary in my opinion. Sure, people can think what they want about it, but even tho it's really similar to AO that's not a good enough reason to start dissing it like that. I'd actually try that if it wasn't for mobiles (not a huge fan of mobile games, prefer PC ones way more x)). Tho I do think that if the controls were really that much sensitive then maybe it would pay off to adjust them a bit.
A little sidenote, someday I'd love to do a few magic single races in AO w/ you x3 Not a fan of teams so those would be off-limits xDD
I'll be honest, I havnt played AO before. Which kind of means I don't really notice if Wildeshade copied AO I'm mainly just excited to have a horse mobile game with newer graphics! I respect people opinions but if your going "hate" on it play it first. I can't hate on either games because I havnt played either games, and if you dislike one game don't play it and don't hate on it. You can make a statement but don't just hate. I'm super excited for Wildeshade because as I said new horse game with good graphics! I think (From Denise' video he did playing Wildeshade) the characters look great and breeding systems etc. So yeah excited for Wildeshade!

I honestly don’t care about wildshade, yes it’s basically a mix of alicia online and starstable but so what? Don’t like it don’t play it. I know I won’t cuz if the graphics🤷🏻♀️
Only horse game i play is red dead redemption 1 and 2 why was this recommended to me lol great video by the way. I agree with what your saying about game cause people do this to alot of games. In normal opinion enjoy the game if you dont like it dont play. This also falls under movies series RUclips videos. You have new sub.
I don't get why people have the mentality of hating new game. We all get ideas from other things we see. We might not admit it but we do copy things from real life or things from the internet.
Why don't we all just welcome that we have a NEW horse game. Horse games are so hard to come by. I'm so glad new horse games are coming out.
Alicia Online isn't even run by its original Devs, That game should have died a long time ago but because some AMAZING people/fans of the game picked it up and started to update it, the game is still alive to this day.
Also AO doesn't make/earn money because the original company lost the rights to it. So WildShade are NOT stealing money from AO because that game cannot earn money. AO is free to play.
If you want to complain about WildShade then come up with ORIGINAL ideas that can make the game more original and send it to the devs.
Don't just crap on something you don't want to make better. WS has a lot of potential to learn and grow, giving good feedback will help in the long run.
Girl that wildshade didn’t just take ‘inspiration’ or ‘ideas’ for AO.. It literally COPIED the entire gameplay, controls, the races and even the way the horses speed up and literally everything else from AO. You can get ‘ideas’ from something but this is just blant copying AO and making money off a ‘new’ game you created which is literally just a knock off version AO. And since there aren’t a lot of horse games is it really THAT hard to come u with a new idea/storyline for a game?

@Storm Mist I've been wanting new horse games for about 2 year's. WildShade has time to expand and evolve.
Maybe they haven't set their hearts into the right place yet but soon this game will become popular. If you don't want to support it that's fine. Your opinion is totally valid.
I guess I'm just different, if the original AO Devs had a problem with WS then maybe I could care.
Sorry maybe I'm just different like that. Maybe if the Devs that are currently developing AO cared then maybe I wouldn't support WS.
Because right now I think the players can't rlly say anything because they didn't develop the game, if the current Devs of AO say something then there could be an argument. But apart from that people will probs still support WS.

But hopefully in the future the game can evolve into something of its own. :) I guess we will have to see with time.
The hard truth people aren’t prepared for: Wildshade is an actual game that have paying workers. Alicia is completely free to play because Alex does not OWN Alicia online. No one actually “owns” it because the actual company got rid of it. Wildshade is it’s own game with its own developers. They can make money off of it. They can do whatever they want because they can make money and create genuine content that’s not from an “older version”. Alex has to decode and RECODE everything from the old Alicia online in order to add content because he’s not the owner of the game. It’s simply a fan project. 🤷🏼♀️ Be mad ab it.
I am rather pissed about Wildshade, honestly. It is a direct copy of AO, the only things being slightly different are the breeding system, coats and that you can play on phone.
I’m fine with taking inspiration from things, but there’s a clear difference from copying and getting inspired by something. Also AO is NOT a copy of Mario Cart just because it’s a racing game, they’re two totally different games.
The Wildshade team are greedy from money and from being in the discord, they can also be toxic and disregard questions when people are confused. I beta tested the game, and it’s honestly sorta shit. Even animations look copied, as there’s also Gliding and Sliding which is so obviously copied please don’t be so blind to this.
AO asks for no money at all and is fairly simple and fun to play. Wildshade is just a money grab with ‘optional’ in game offers to make the game easier or better.Also they directly deny taking inspiration from AO which is a big red flag.
I’m not gonna play this game ofc, but the person who still updates Alicia Online doesn’t deserve to have their game copied. Also, nobody needs to shut up, we’re allowed to voice opinions.

I think it’s just too much of a cheap copy from ao, nothing that really stands out and it just looks cheaper. But the game isn’t even done yet, so no one can really tell if it’s gonna be bad or not. Maybe it’ll be the best horse game ever, who knows ✌️

You need to understand that they STOLE files though, people have every right to be mad when you're promoting a game with stolen files that they've claimed as their own.
I would not claim anything without proving if they did or not. Can you prove if they did steal? I am asking because it is a very serious claim
