Under the apricot looks a nice spot for your swing seat, another nice harvest. Will try your beetroot recipe, we have binged on your broad beans on toast over the last two weeks
Your mother looks soooo good! It’s nice to see her in the picture with you again. It’s really hot here in Kentucky, USA as well as very high humidity so I feel your pain. Beautiful beetroot salad btw.
Hi Jessie just subscribed love your allotment I can really feel how you are feeling with the heat ,trying to get a good crop with veg is hard with heat waves, ,as I live in south Australia all my veg are under shade cloth, last year we had a few days of 45c and trust me shade cloth is a big blessing, I go out in the garden very early in the mornings give them a good drink and top up every now and them with seasole just to keep them fed and the strength to cope with the heat , anyway just love watching you , hope your mum is good what a lovely lady ,by the way is the cat yours he is just gorgeous and a big hello to the three girls , happy gardening, from sylv xx
Lovely looking beetroot recipe too! Yesterday I looked up last year's video for broadbeans on toast, it's my first time growing them, they're not quite ready yet I've realised 😁
Great vid good to see your mum doing well, should wear a cap more often bring out your beautiful eyes. Will need to do more beetroot and spring onions myself,

Hi Lovely video and the apricot .we pass the hot and the allotment sure it survive it was hot hot .thank for the tips .your mum look lovely and smile . Thank for your videos I love then .I am from Chile liven en Sheffield .
I sowed the early type purple sprouting broccoli in august as a bit of an experiment last year thinking to over winter and got a harvest in February of this year. Some florets got a tiny bit of frost damage and overall I might have just been lucky due to our fairly mild winter this year. Also it may have been a better harvest than the one just recently, but that may have been due to the excessive dry weather!
Good tip on the blanched basil. Will try that. I am just about ready to start a huge batch of sowing again. Space is appearing and I like to fill my polytunned staging wit compost bags to grow whatever is possible autumn and winter.
Mum looks good, speedy recovery mum 🥰. Feeling for ye in that heat. We got just over 30 here in ROI unbearable but survived! Fabulous garden as always. Thank you Jessie ❤️

Hi Jessie, much cooler here today thank goodness. Watering done and everything is surviving so far. A few more seeds to sow, trying Pak Choi again and a few more lettuce. Your mum is looking really well.
We've been having 105f off and on in the states too. You can't go to work outside its just to hot. Drink lots and take care!!! Glad to see mom doing good.
Good to see mom I bet you miss her at the allotment to talk to about things you are doing or want to do, but soon hopefully 🤞🤞. I totally understand what you mean about moving things I have a lot I’m changing next year due to oops moments “what was I thinking” and just weather changes. But that gardening hope everything and everyone are ok in the heat and the girlie managed ok. 🐝 safe and stay cool 😎

Hi Jessie, good idea, cup of tea first as its so hot! Your poor potatoes, your mums pickerupper is the best tool for your apricot harvest 🙂 your Mum is looking well. You got quite a lotof jobs done too. Thanks for sharing and take care 🙂
Very hard to bear the weather here in Wales, Saturday, Sunday, Monday and a little of Tuesday. Yesterday was cool though. Today looks to be more normal phew!! The swing seat is a great idea. How do you see your tablet in the sunlight Jess What a lovely salad idea. I just grate mine into a coleslaw or pickle it.
Great to see your Mum out in the garden at home. Your beetroot dish looked wonderful, must pick some tomorrow. The apricots are amazing. Presume you realise the swing seat has cut down your gardening by at least half! You will never want to get off it - you looked very comfy! Trying autumn harvesting broad beans this year!
Great update Jessie , great to see your mum too , weather has been shocking up here in NE England too 36° at somepoint were trying to get some sleep as I type this and its still 29° my goodness , anyway you must be pleased with your progress this week hoping you have a great day tomorrow and the weather behaves itself xx
Hi Jim! Thank you. The hot days is one thing, its the hot nights that are crazy isn't it! Didn't get below 25 here for a few nights! Hope you coped okay and everything's good.

I have lots of happy memories sitting on it under a laburnum tree in mums next to last home. I hope you enjoy your great find as much. Hello to your mom! Your beetroot dish looks delicious. I just made a batch of pesto the other day using the blanching technique. I also threw in some spinach leaves, a touch of lemon juice and a bit of butter. I only had raw sunflower seeds (no pine nuts) along with the garlic, parmesan and oil. It was delicious on my pasta that night as well as a turkey sandwich next day, then I froze the rest. All still beautiful green. Stay cool, love the swing seat! (Soon to belong to Lily)
Thanks Sherry! Sounds delicious! Amazing how much of a difference to the colour the blanching makes isn't it! My prediction is that the swing seat will be quite a hinderance but heyho! I love it hahaha!
I've just discovered the rivers of London books. I've been raving about them!! Harry Potter for big boys and girls! Wet wet wet here. Not fun when you own a horse for your daughter and he's breaststroke in his grazing!. Over strawberries are soon to be for sale those and dahlias are my upcoming focus. No eggs dance autumn from my chooks
HI Jessie, (oooft it's warm!) Gutted for your spud bags! Do you know what? I've had the odd spud dug up this year by something around harvest time! I wonder if its foxes? The strange thing is from yours they don't look to be eating them just clawing at them and playing football with them?! I think the hardest thing about this time of the year is thinking about the Autumn/ Early Winter harvests and what to plan/ sow now. I've got a tonne of Brassica seedlings in cell trays - hope they don't bolt as soon as I find a new spot for them! I'm treating this year as the first year where we'll try and get some proper Spring Cabbage as well as the winter varieties. Yay for the swing seat. Will go nicely with a coffee (or cold beer) on the allotment! Have a good week! Andy!
Your Mum looks great...I too had same op but it took lots longer! I guess things have improved greatly since then....in and OUT! Plus all that gardening walking backwards possibly had a lot to do with your Mums fast recovery! One gardening question...does this extreme heat have anything to do with my dragon tongue beans NOT blooming or setting fruit....1st time planting (saw yours) I planted them over TWO months ago! Cheers!
Another tip when making Pesto is don't use the red/purple Basil as your Pesto will come out the colour of New born Baby Poo 🤦♀️ I wanted purple pesto but didn't happen (still tasted delicious)
Apricots!! Will you dry any in your dehydrator? I invested in one too! I did a load of rhubarb (a most prolific crop in Orkney) to make tea and maybe to use in cakes? I've tried it as is and it's like very sour sweets! 👌 Swing seat - excitement!! Sorry about the heatwave 🔥🥵 not a sniff of one here 😂
The highest temperature I've experienced is 38c. One day in a big city. Low humidity. We've had a few days of the same here with humidex included. So I don't know what 40c feels like. Don't want to know!
Good tips on the bean varieties etc . Will give a try next year. Whilst you were at Hampton court you mentioned that you got some advice about garlic what was that. I water at day break 4.30 a lot easier then.
Yeah, i got up at day break a few times telling myself i'd go back to bed when i got home but by then it was too hot hahaha! Hmm.... garlic? I've forgotten, i'll have to go back and see what i said!
Wish I was allowed a hose at my allotment... Has to be watering cans from a trough that automatically fills up with water. Have to dip cans in and walk back and fourth.. 😒 Feels endless lol. A couple people have tried submersible pumps but they are definitely not allowed. Hose would be easier but apparently this way is better for saving the amount of water we use
watered my plants sunday evening, a couple are looking a bit droopy now but it's supposed to rain a bit tomorrow morning and then rain more in the afternoon... Just gonna see whet the night brings. And 0930 is wine'o clock somewhere :-)
so jeally ive always wanted a swing seat too lol and most of my stuff survived apart from a tray of toms still in the polly ops running out of space and aubergine's went all droopy but looking better tonight lol
Can I ask do you know the name of your apricot tree, and is it grafted. I am living in Ireland and didn't think we could grow them here especially outdoors but our climate seems quite to yours.

dont know if its me having a bit of a thick day but i cant find the Beetroot Carpaccio.... i watch every week and love the your video's....thanks
HI Jessie, (oooft it's warm!)
Gutted for your spud bags!
Andy!
Sorry about your potatoes After all your trouble
Great vlog again. It was our first 1°c last night here in Melbourne
Thanks Micheal. Ooooooooh 1º sounds like heaven right now!!
@@JessieatPlot37 just watched thè nightly news, there's house's on fire, obviously due to power overloads. Hope you are okay
Great vlog Jessie as always
Thanks Hamish!
I have beetroot envy. I also had beetroot for lunch but mine was brought to me by Baxters! I feel inadequate now 😂
Hahahah! Still beetroot Betty! :D
Its a bit bloody warm!!
How are your Gooseberry’s doing Jesse!
I like you vlogs
Thank you!
@@JessieatPlot37 welocome dear
Hhahaha, its always wine-o'clock somewhere! :D Hope you got the rain!
@@JessieatPlot37 It's here, sweet, sweet rain!
so jeally ive always wanted a swing seat too lol and most of my stuff survived apart from a tray of toms still in the polly ops running out of space and aubergine's went all droopy but looking better tonight lol
:D I'm so excited about it hahahah!
Glad most things survived. I'm just about to go up and check!!
@@JessieatPlot37 im pleased to announce i have my very first aubergine its so cute but boy are the stems spikey lol
Where do you get your green rectangular seed trays? Shown at around 29:45
Can I ask do you know the name of your apricot tree, and is it grafted. I am living in Ireland and didn't think we could grow them here especially outdoors but our climate seems quite to yours.
