I'm fairly new to resin but realised early on that all your tools need to be cleaned as soon as you finish with them. I also have a Hand Samitizer pump on my work spacer ane just 1 squirt makes all the difference to ease of cleaning pots out. Hope you find this helpful and thank you for your great videos.

For resin blobs that did stick to table or work surface, warm it up w heat gun just a bit. It softens the resin and makes it much easier to peel up.

I just recently tried an experiment to see if I could clean my pipettes after using them for resin. I used rubbing alcohol and it worked perfectly! I was surprised. I didn't think it would work because I thought I had heard someone say they can't be cleaned. Now they will last a lot longer.

I recently discovered alcohol wipes for cleaning up plastic pots and tools and they're AMAZING! I've been able to avoid dealing with messy uncured resin and parts 1 and 2-- I NEVER get around to cleaning up till the next day. I still use baby wipes on anything silicone. Thanks Steve!

Those “brittle shot glasses” are sold at dollar tree and are my favorite little mixing cups for colors. I clean mine with wipes too.
Thanks for how to clean the pipettes. I tried to squeeze all the resin out of mine and failed but glad to know I am on the right track. I will try some more of your techniques to get them clean.
I use painters tape to tape a large kitchen trash bag to my table instead of the brown paper. The resin peals right off of it. Eventually it gets crinkled and warn but it lasts for a good amount of time.

For your table, try coving it with a shower curtain that you can get at dollar tree. They’re a little thicker, cover a larger area, and last longer than trash bags.

Cleaning up and soaking stubborn molds in soap and water has been a game changer for me, thank you for that Steve! I now keep a shallow bucket of soapy warm water by my art area to drop in items ive wiped almost clean that I need to move on from in the moment, molds that aren't releasing, or molds ive demolded that have bits of resin still attached or smeared on it thats cured. Its super helpful!

Hi Steve. Thank you for this video, I have been trying to work out the best way to clean & reuse my pipettes after I have used them with resin. Sometimes the simplest solutions to problems pass is by while we believe that the answer will be a little bit more complicated. I am sure many of us have had this problem & relieved that you made this video with a solution. When I am about to do some work with resin on my silicon mat, I prepare it first with a light coating of silicone mould release spray. Sometimes using my silicone spreaders to ensure it is spread across the mat evenly while giving the spreaders a very light coating. I have also found using a rectangular painters pallet with the little sections all in a single row where you would put your paint colours to & use this to arrange small items I maybe adding to my resin as well as using another to lay my mixing sticks, pipettes & tiny spoons for adding mica powders & glitters so that they all stay separate from each other & not rest next to each other. This prevents them accidentally mixing colours together etc. Again a big thank you for your video. It took me a little while to find it, but it was well worth the search of your videos 🤩

The pipettes tip is AMAZING thank you! And I’m going to use baby wipes in my cups and in my mat from now on! Thanks for that too!
Can’t wait for the next video as I had some resin that didn’t set and I ended up cleaning what I could and pouring a new batch of resin so that the sticky layer stuck to it. But I did have to then throw that piece away so a bit wasteful but cheaper than buying a new mould.

Thank you, Steve for the new tips, and explaining why the new ways are superior to the older ways . I bought one of those clear heavy vinyl tablecloth covers to put on my workspace, and figure I can use that instead of paper under my silicone mat. If it becomes too icky to use, I have a whole roll of the stuff, so I can exchange. It's more expensive than the paper, but i figure I won't need to replace it as often. The pipettes idea was brilliant too. For the baby wipes, I ordered a case of them, so that they're a bit cheaper per use.

@@elliewilliams4131 hey Ellie, I have a clear plastic sheet I use on the bench/countertop, I have also used those flannel backed plastic tablecloths, I also use wipes to clean as I go, but for spilled raw soap I use an old rag and just put it in a bag for 24 hours and wash as normal when the soap has saponified....I also have a big silicone mat for resin projects and when the resin cures you just peel it off! 👍

Thanks Steve for all your great videos. I learn so much from you. I am brand new at this, in fact I have tried for 2 months now to get all my supplies, watch videos, etc and just find the time, to pour my first one. Sad but true. I need to just get the first one out of the way so I can feel comfortable and learn from my mistakes. Hopefully this week I will get a chance to do my first resin jewelry.
For those that have a dollar store around, I have several Dollar Trees in my area, you can get baby wipes there. If you want to buy them in bulk, as it may be cheaper that way, then Sam's Club, Costco or even Walmart is my suggestion. Also Dollar Tree has baby oil, creamy baby oil and other things like that. It is the cheapest place to get those kinds of items as far as I know. Hope this helps. Take care everyone and stay safe.

To save as much resin as possible I place my pouring cup upside down on a long skewer type stick that it pushed into some foam/flower oasis type stuff on a slant so that the resin runs down and drops in the one place. I put a mould underneath to catch these drops. The resin that is left sticks to the skewer and will come out easily when skewer is removed. Hope this is of inrerest to someone

You could save yourself some time cleaning off your table if you switched to melamine. Resin comes off nicely, as well as white board markers. I use a melamine surface all the time to make notes for mixing and whatever, then save the "right" mix to a notebook, then just wipe the melamine.

Not one joke, ok, ok there was one tiny derogatory "I'm messy" comment. You are amazing and greatly appreciated, and revered, oh I could go on and on Steve! :). But your sense of humor, and charm is what sucks us towards your light! Do you have anything like a dollar store in your area? Because you could buy the plastic vinyl shower curtains to cover your wood table with it and then put your brown craft paper on top of it. So when you remove the craft paper if there’s anything on the vinyl shower curtain it usually will just peel off but worst case scenario it only cost you a dollar anyway and you can replace it and still keep your wood table safe. That’s usually what I do to my tables they’re not wood but they’re just regular folding tables but like you said so that I can try and keep the surfaces clean and level as possible that’s how I take care of my table. Thought I’d share 😃

Hi. I watch your stuff from time to time and really learn a lot from you. This video was very valuable. I was looking specifically for information about cleaning the pipettes. I went into your description box to see about the links and found your links to Amazon and that you are an associate. I think that’s great. I want to support you with my purchase. You have listed a number of things that I need. I’m curious, when I go into Amazon through that link and buy anything that’s posted within that category does that give you an income or is it only the first thing that comes up? It doesn’t seem like you have a store. When I went in there to purchase the pipettes, I had to go down to the next thing to be able to purchase. Does that still give you income? I want to make sure my purchase helps you. I need many of the things you have listed. I hope you see this soon because I’d like to make my purchase actually did they have possible I know that’s probably unrealistic. I have a resin project that I need to start and need the supplies. Please guide me on what I need to do to ensure you get your portion of the sale. Thanks for all the help.
