  • President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., approved the revised Horizon 3 of the Armed Forces of the Philippines modernization program. It was also announced that it will have a price tag of 2 trillion pesos, or 35 billion dollars, covering a 10-year period. AFP chief general. Romeo Brawner Jr. made this remark when asked whether President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. had already approved the list of equipment and weapons systems itemized for Horizon 3. The AFP chief said the military plans to acquire more ships, aircraft, and radar systems by focusing on the archipelagic defense concept.
This defensive concept is aimed at protecting the country's exclusive economic zone of 200 nautical miles.
    Horizon 3 was initially scheduled from 2023 to 2028, Horizon 2 from 2018 to 2022, and Horizon 1 from 2013 to 2017.

Not ENOUGH. The Philippines should simultaneously develop, strengthen and exand its domestic military equiptment building capabilities and start building early warning systems and evacuation plan to be routinely exercised by the civilians just like how we do earthquake drills once a year.

@@Daxjag NOT ENOUGH. MANDATORY MILITARY TRAINING LAW MUST BE FINISHED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. MILITARY PERSONNEL ALONE CANNOT COVER THE ENTIRE PHILIPPINES. A TRAINED CIVILIAN FORCE WILL ALWAYS BE NEEDED TO SUFFICE THE LACK OF MAN POWER IN THE AFP.

I agree with some of your ideas, a bit curious here, what do you mean by building early warning system?

Kapag naging pabaya pa ang Pilipinas. Gigising ang ating salin-lahi na wala nang ipaglalabang territoryo/WPS.
We already knew the true intentions of China in this area. They already knew our sides. And we choose to side with US their rival for their ambitions of world dominance and those like minded countries that supports us for peace and stability.
We must now stick with our stance. And we must further strengthen our Armed Forces not only for deterrence but for the total defense of our motherland.

Think of the worst case scenario for our nation.
Don't think the Chinese Pirates would just be satisfied in taking more PH EEZ territory, as they MAY decide to invade our country itself, who knows it could be Palawan, Manila, Batanes and others.
That's the worst case scenario for us, and not losing more of our EEZ.

Wala ng saysay ang AFP modernization. Mabagal mag decide ang mga leaders natin sa urgency ng needs at what weapons they need at has no strong resolve.

I think three submarines will be taken if I take the offer of three countries

    • @user-uc9qt1mc5i
      @user-uc9qt1mc5i 3 дня назад

For our Navy to acquire 3 submarines that'll be a good thing, but is it enough to cause a deterrent effect?
Nope. Three submarines would be helpful for our defense, but honestly speaking they "WON'T MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE," coz our "potential enemy" has lots of them, (about 65 to 70 submarines in total) and they've got about 70 years of experience in operating subs, while our Navy has is ZERO year/s of experience.

@@user-uc9qt1mc5i Shore based anti ship missile mas better tulad ng Ukraine walang naval warship pero 6+ na warship ng Russia ang napalubog. 1 to 3Million dollar na missile pwede palubugin ang $200M na warship.

I don't agree with your statement here, why are you questioning the courage of our Soldiers and Coast Guard personnel? To tell you frankly, they're not "lacking in the bravery aspect" that's 100% sure, in the military it's all about the "chain of command," once a soldier is given a set of orders, he must obey & comply with those orders otherwise he could be "court marshalled" for failing to comply with a direct order from his superior, this guy may be thrown out of the service.
The REAL PROBLEM LIES in the "directive" of the Commander in Chief,(our leader) so if there's anyone who's to be blamed it should be him, and not his men.(Soldiers & Coast Guard Personnel)

These desired assets under this program is way way impossible since the allocation from the government for the modernization is only a fraction of the ideal fund allocation. Good luck Philippines! You have the money but you have the worst leaders on earth!
