- How well does it stack up against my other Spyderco's? Let's find out!
Gonna compare it to the Delica 4, Dragonfly 2, Para2, Para3 LW, Manix 2 LW and a Native 5 LW.

I bought my first tenacious 6 years ago on my 18th birthday, it was the first “good” knife I owned and it did and still does every task I ask of it, I own several spyderco’s now, the Manix is my personal favorite but the tenacious is a rad blade, especially in that blade steel
Even without the premium steel, the Tenacious is one of the legends of the EDC world. Certain knives just have a place in history. The Tenacious, the Bugout, the Kershaw Blur, etc...
I just ordered my second Tenacious knife because all my other Spyderco knives are too costly and precious to me; I won’t be afraid to beat up on my Tenacious knives.
I have one and it is great. I used to it break down a cardboard box just for kicks. It is still using the factory edge and it went thru that box like there wasn't anything in the way. I wish Spyderco would give the Polestar and the Emphasis similar treatments.
They did upgrade the polestar and alcyone to bd1n fwiw
looks like a great deal.
It is and it isn't. I love the knife. But, it costs DOUBLE the price of the standard Tenacious, and the only difference is the blades steel. At a manufacturing level, the cost difference to Spyrderco is maybe $5-$10 between 8Cr13MOV and S35VN... The cost difference is minimal, yet they more than double the price of the knife... They are making mad profit on that model because of an upgrade in blade steel, but they haven't refined the rest of the knife to make it more premium...
So that bugs me a little, but in the end its a fantastic design with an excellent blade steel so it is what it is...
It’s somewhat subjective but I would take s30v over s35vn any day of the week. Plus I would trust the heat treat from golden Colorado more than chinese s35vn. Just my opinion.
I would imagine that if Spyderco is willing to put their name on it, and warranty it, then they did their homework and the heat treat is good.
I have no personal preference between those two steels. Both are excellent.
Great steel but the scales...
Yeah, would have been nice if they upgraded those as well, but at that point the price would be high enough that you should just get the Para 2... haha
👍🏼
How can they do that? Simple. The scales are made from old coke bottles.
Which sit over steel liners... Its tough plastic over steel, shouldn't be an issue
