LIVE: Venezuela election - voters head to the polls

Venezuela’s resurgent opposition and President Maduro have both held closing campaign rallies in Caracas, each declaring that their victory is all but certain in the vote on Sunday.
María Corina Machado, a former congresswoman who has energised the entire opposition movement despite having been banned from seeking political office, called on a crowd of tens of thousands, many of them draped in the Venezuelan flag, to vote for the candidate she has named as her proxy, the retired diplomat Edmundo González.
