- Hey guys!
In this lesson, I wanna share with you WHY I like these three scales the most out of a plethora of scales. I often approach anything I do in the simplest way possible, eventually maximizing what I can get out of it in the long term of the shed.

Anthony, my bass brother.. just wanted to extend my deepest appreciation for what you do for the bass community & keeping players like me inspired.
One love!
Man thank you so much for this. This is very technical but a very beautiful lesson. I learned a lot!
I agree with the person 2 post down. You get a beautiful tone on that instrument. Wonderfully clean and beautiful. Thanks for posting about the melodic minor, symmetrical and major scales. Ive learned the harmony behind the major scale being Maj 7th, minor 7th, min 7th, dom 7th etc and have found this very useful in figuring out chords to many songs.
Hey man, love your videos!
At around 9:20 you mention a potential future lesson about the symmetry of both melodic minor and diminished, please do a lesson on this!!!
Great lesson .... As Always 🙏🏿
Awesome video!
4:10 This is SO true man. Thanks for the video! Great information as always

Your harmony is amazing bro
As always, thank you so much.. 4:09 so correct

See you in the shed!

thanks bro !
Thanks for the video. Bass from Rio de janeiro Brasil
I just found your video and subscribed, you are a great bass player
You sound great!
Wow The sound you get from this bass is amazing. I would love to know how you get this sound, tone. Have you done a video on your gear and setup?
Thanks
the sound is in his fingers
Excellent content man I also love the melodic minor scale. I'm now super interested in hearing more about your thoughts on mixing melodic minor and diminished
Cheers Mike! I might talk a little bit about that down the road!
I look forward to it and all your lessons anthony I'm going to try to catch the next live stream also. Peace bro!
Thanks!
Cheers!
Надзвичайно обдарована і грамотна людина,цей східняк....!!!👍
what inspired you to pick up the bass?
hey anthony.. in regards to your comment about it's waste a time trying to think the minor scale a separate entity.. can't you argue when you're thinking of improv over a minor song, it's helpful to keep in my that the minor i is the tonic? .. unless you do it differently?
Beautiful playing. Can you share your setups: pickups, string height, how you are able to play so cleanly? My bass is very noisy, and I could use advice on how to get it to sound much cleaner, when I play, without sympathetic sound from other strings. I don't really want to use a dampener or mute; higher end basses sound much better. I have very low action... What can I do differently? Thank you!
Naiya Devine Cominos watch his picking hand. Mutes the lower strings with pinky and ring finger
Are you familiar with various muting techniques? Floating thumb, for instance? It’s mainly that. Also, you don’t need or want too low an action. It affects tone. You need a decent action, but too low and it starts to cause issues. But yeah, it’s mainly left and right handed muting and whilst practicing, playing slower to get a cleaner and more even sound on each note, before speeding up.
How do you get that tone?? Sounds like butter. Mind saying your EQ settings as well as pickup settings?(assuming your on bridge pickup fully)
My EQ is almost always at 12 O clock on the amp. Bridge pick up, full volume with a little tone. That's about it. Thanks man!
@@AnthonyMuthurajah it's all in the fingers! Haha
@@rekindled3624 For sure! haha. Cheers!
@@AnthonyMuthurajah Which Squire Bass model is this? Is it one of the affordable lines or more expensive, is it active or passive???
im gonna follow your channel, just restarted the bass after 20 years need to start from scratch. what bass do u use by the way.
redskysaturn75 it’s a fender jazz bass most likely
Hi jacob thanks but i was wondering if its a fender, squire or gnl
redskysaturn75 its a squier jazz bass
@@wxxdz855 ahh thanks man. Its sounds awesome.
I’ve written this on your other vids. I can appreciate your exampling the scales. You simply go too fast to decipher the way you play these scales. So, I personally can not replicate the great intervals your demonstrating . Thanks anyway.
You can slow it down on youtube on a pc
Then this stuffs.too advanced for you bub. Plain and simple try some of those more simple videos then
If this is too fast for you you may wanna check out something a little simpler.. work your way up. Eventually it will all make since
Nice lesson on scales and that you state that all scales actually are derived from Major in one way or another
Thanks man! And yes, absolutely possible to derive everything from a simple major scale.
And that tone is nice also
Hw long u been playing?
Emmanuel Drummer been playing bass for 9 years now!
alex webster uses the Hungarian lovely
Is that your “Perception” compadre?
Arrgh jeff lix cool
Interesting, but I find your take on modes and ruling them out a bit vague. Major is a mode. Why rule out all the modes? What about pentatonic scales?
Dude, You are the best! All the people who are still watching the garbage from Scot'sBassLessons (or similar) shall be here ))
I'm finding out that people who can't play really obsess over tone...
You're such a cool cat, but as 4 me a beginner - a total waste ---
This is extremely frustrating . Music isn’t racist at all.
Huh
