What's Up , Horror Freaks! Have you seen this little demon filled 80s gem ? let me know your thoughts. Do you think it still holds up today , or is it a film that begs to be forgotten.
Ah, Night of the Demons really is iconic! Linnea's also in the remake, wearing the same costume! It's really fun to look out for her. Night of the Demons is the rare occasion where dark humor and horror work well together. I find most movies don't get a good balance, and tend to end up ruining both. I'm a picky person, but I think Night of the Demons is a surreal experience with a wicked and appropriate sense of humor. You're so right, too. The cast being so solid really helps make the whole thing work. It's reminiscent in some ways to Return of the Living Dead, with its own macabre sense of comedic timing juxtaposed with real horror. Sometimes the comedy, if done right, can make the horror seem even more terrifying.
Practical special effects of the '80s were fantastic. Tangible is a perfect word to describe them and it's a word I've used myself to describe them in other comments. My newfound appreciation of horror has sprung that love of special effects. Horror works so well with other genres, sci-fi, thriller, action, comedy and more and using those other mediums as a way to explore horror or expand your boundaries is great. While some of the performances could be cheesy, I think they were much more cheesy fun than cheesy bad. I joined your channel soon after finding it and have loved every second of it. Even though your videos are always great with their humour and snappy pacing, this video was REALLY well put together.
It always seemed crazy to me that the more modern CGI filled movies look like trash a few months after they're made. While the films of the 80s that relied on practical effects still look great decades later.
Cathy also appeared on the 80s series Dallas I think after night of the demons Those two were the only two things that she done as far as I know she has since left the acting business. As far as I know demons and Dallas were her only acting gigs. I wish there was a where are they now with the whole entire cast especially the actor who played Roger as well as miss kincade
I know she appeared on a few TV shows over the years, like 90210 and murder she wrote , and she also stared in a TV movie called Earth Angel alongside Cindy Williams and Mark Hamill ...That would be a great new video series Horror where are they now .

Yes, I saw this a long time ago when I was little…the scene I remembered the most was the booby scene.

Shaun of the Dead is another great example.

A fun Demon Flick of the 80s. Would be a perfect double feature alongside Evil Dead 2.
Absolutely!
I saw this in 88 in a theatre, I have yet to " eat a bowl of fuck"
I purchased the VCD of this movie back in 2002 and still have it, entertaining movie though. 😃😃😃
