I could talk to you for some time about both the north and south fields. In another episode you spoke of Jake Early. He was groundskeeper at the north fields. He knew me, as his son went to the same HS I did. Jake called me the "last of the choke-up hitters." He once picked Ted Williams off third base twice in one game. Jake was quite a gentleman. When I played in LL, we practiced on the south fields, which might have been changed from their original configurations. In JuCo, my first hit was to LCF on the main field in the North complex. Bruce Bochy was on our club. Goodness, such great memories. Thank yo so much.

I’d love that coach. So sad #24 has passed. I remember you telling me about meeting him and him signing that ball for you.

Yes I know very little about some of those fields, nor does anyone else. Would love to learn more

@@BaseballandGraveyards I don't know deep history, but I lived in Melbourne - just left the area in December. Maybe we can trade numbers and talk. I appreciate your work. Well done.

@@BaseballandGraveyards Funniest thing was Willie busting me for my handshake like he was cracking on an old friend. He lived a good life, and left a great legacy on and off the field.
