Clary started to date Simon to see if she could get over Jace and also because he was her brother so they couldn't date anymore. Then when (in the books) Jocelyn tells Clary that her and Jace aren't brother and sister (in the tv show) Valentine tells Jace that Clary's not his sister and that he's not his father. So when they both find out they are not brother and sister anymore they get back together ❤️. Hope I helped :)
You'd think with all the fancy technology the Clave has, they would've been able to do a simple blood test and confirm that Clary and Jace aren't siblings. Not to mention Jace has blonde hair...and neither Joceline nor Valentine have blonde hair.

No worries. I didn't take offense. TVD is The Vampire Diaries. The series just ended but it was the same m.o. They took some components of the books and changed others in order to make the show last. There's only so far the books can take you when you adapt it to the small screen. :)
The song is perfect for them. With how 3A ended an all they had gone threw I'm hoping in 3B they're finally able to be together. In the books yes so I need a very good ending with this. I'm usually unhappy with a TV adaptation of a Book or book's. Yet with this I've yet to be disappointed. So we'll see.
