- This video shows three friends and our awesome two-day ATV trip in beautiful Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. The particular area we were in is called the "Highlands", and you'll see why in the video.
In our group there was a Can Am Commander 1000 XT, CF Moto ZForce 1000 Canadian Edition, and a Honda Pioneer 700.
The entire trip was 253 km.
Day 1 - Wreck Cove to Cheticamp 140 km (88 miles)
Day 2 - Cheticamp to Wreck Cove (different route) 113 km (70 miles).
This was an ATV Rally called the "Highland Quest" put on by the Isle Royale ATV Club. Check out their website at www.isleroyalea....
Cape Breton is an underrated island, with beautiful views, and people. Great video, may follow your tracks this summer!
Its beautiful there. If you follow those tracks you'll have a great time. I have another Cape Breton video I will be uploading this weekend. Thanks for watching.
I grew up in Boston but spent several summers in Nova Scotia with family I have there. Beautiful scenery and the nicest people.
Thanks for the comment. There are definitely nice people there. I went to Boston in the summer of '93 and saw Boston and Toronto play at Fenway. It was a great time.
Love the drone shoots!! What a great trail!
Thank you. I'm glad I bought the drone. I'm looking forward to using it more on future rides.
Excellent video, and some beautiful country there in the Highlands.
Thank you! I agree, it's beautiful up there. I wish I could get up there more often.
I really like your videos. That looks like another awesome spot to ride.
Thank you I'm glad you liked it. It's really beautiful in Cape Breton. It's one of my favorite places.
I’ll be doing this run this July. I’m from pei. Planning on dropping the truck in pictou and then wheeling over to that trail. Should be a good time
I'd love to get a copy of your tracks that shows how to get from Pictou to Cape Breton. How are you getting across the causeway?
EastCoastATV got a trailer lined up to take us across. Hoping the weather will be good it’s for the 3rd week of July so it should be nice.
@@mustangkeith1 Did you do this alone? Or with friends ? I'm aching to go atv'ing in Cape Breton come the warmer months, looking for company
@@carlgustav945 ended up going alone with wife it was a pretty good trip , we just putted along taking in the scenery.
@@mustangkeith1 I'm hoping some of these regulations ease up, I'm outside Bridgewater looking to hit new trails. Only 2 months ago I found out some parts of NB have groomed atv trails in winter, I was floored yet this crap going on is in the way of me discovering it. Keeping fingers crossed come warmer months I'll be able to explore Cape Breton. I only started atv'ing or as they call 'em around here a Buggy, 13 years ago. I'm from Newfoundland, I go every year and every year I drive through Cape Breton to get there. The stupid in me surfaces and I never take the time to explore on my can am. Now, with this crap going on and realizing what I'm missing, I have no other choice but to be patient. I hope to spend part of this summer in Cape Breton instead of Nfld, they have made it more difficult for travelers. Anyway happy trails!
I really wanted to get out for this run. I have yet to do any exploration in CB!. Great video.
Thanks Ruyguy8888, I'm glad you liked the video. Cape Breton is a beautiful spot you won't regret it if you visit.
wow beautiful
Thanks!
Great video
Thank you, glad you liked it. Thanks for posting.
i want to go back out on the dirt trails again after several years
I hope you do. It's fun out there.
Cool. Been waiting to see if you were going to post another riding video. Myself and my brother just got back from a trip with our RZR's a month ago. 1771 km in 9 days across the south shore of Quebec and Gaspe. Did you guys make it to Newfoundland this year?
Wow sounds like you guys had a heck of a trip! It's beautiful through Quebec. I was there in 2015. I will get back someday.
We went to NL again this year in September. I will be doing a series of videos again over the winter.
Doing some serious considering of making that a planned trip for next year. Seeing a lot of people throwing videos on here from up that way.
Its s good time. There are beautiful trails and nicer scenery. You can't go wrong.
Definitely can't go wrong with the views. That and we were looking at just getting away for a summer trip. Renting a cabin on the coast and make it a full fledged vacation.
What area are you from ? I grew up in bridgewater, lived in canning for a while before moving out west, this video sure makes me miss home !
From the Truro area. Glad you liked the video, thanks for watching!
Beautiful! Are able to provide the GPS file for this run? We would love to have gone but were having a blast crossing NL that weekend.
Sure. Give me your email address and I can send it to you.
@@EastCoastATV have you bone more? we plan on leaving Canso area and loop to where you guys did the Rally. thank you very much
@@nbatvforum Sorry no, the GPS track I emailed you is the only place in Cape Breton I've gone ATVing so far.
@@EastCoastATV i did not get an email. I notice its same trip our friends did and they will send us theirs Awesome vids as always
@@nbatvforum Sorry about that, I thought for sure I sent my gps track to you. Maybe it went to your spam folder.
Again another get video! Do have a question for you : One this ride from Wreck Cove back did you run into any height restrictions? Thks
There is a tunnel or two but we made it through no problem.
Love your vids, just a question.....what are the cameras you're using to film those trips??
Thank you, glad you like them. I use a GoPro Hero 3 that's attached to my helmet and and I have a DJI Spark drone for the aerial shots. Please subscribe if you haven't and click the little "Bell" icon after you subscribe to get notified when I upload new videos. Thanks for watching.
Great/ like follow you guys on different trips/ do have a Facebook site?
Hey Ralph. I have a Facebook page for our Newfoundland trips. It's Facebook.com/Crossingnewfoundlandbyatv
I don't have a page for our NS trips though. Thanks for watching. I have several other videos of Cape Breton trips newer than this one that you may like too. Just scroll through my RUclips videos page. ruclips.net/user/EastCoastATV
Any issues with width of machine ? I have a kawy krx coming and it is 68" wide.
There are a few spots that are a bit tight but you should be able to get through.
