Funnily enough, his anvil setup muffles the sound pretty well. If you don't have something to deaden it e.g. magnets or chain or whatever (or if your anvil is old and shouldn't be used anymore) your anvil will make a terrible piiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnggggggg!!!!! Kind of like a video game flashbang sound effect. But deafeningly loud.

When he started talking about a power hammer all I could thing about is that Eli is pretty much a low budget alec steele. And I'm not saying that's a bad thing its actually a great thing because hes showing espiring blacksmiths that you dont need all the fancy equipment and big workshop like alec has to make some heccin awesome weapons, keep up the awesome content Eli
Hey there Eli, your comment on not having anywhere to place cutting tools on your "anvil" got my noggin joggin. A little trick ive seen from blacksmiths is shaping railroad spikes into every kind of tool imaginable, specifically cutting implements. They fit perfectly into the square hole on conventional anvils, and since you're using a piece of track, it should fit even more perfectly. Please upvote so Eli sees this!
Here's an idea for the apoc-crusader armor and weapons being redone, you should make a body sized entrenching shield (the shield with the spikes on the bottom and a rest to thrust a spear through) which would work well with these spears you're making.

That would be the most effective way givin that it's a single shield which would most likley be like a trifold board facing the holder as opposed to a shield wall where there's a second line of spearmen in a row behind the shield line and the shield wouldn't need two additional faces.
@@banjobill8420 no a door Shield is much larger covers the full body rather than just the Torso and it can be propped up and uses a full body Shield to hide behind whereas a riot shield only comes up to about your waist

Looking forward to seeing the finished product. My dad made knives out of railroad spikes and left them all over the farm so there was always a knife around. We all carried pocket knives anyway so I think he just liked making different knives.
I have so much respect for Eli because he might now have the best equipment or anything but he takes what he has and makes something great. He does everything himself, editing, filming, and making. He’s just the epitome of hard work and perseverance . . . He’s 2 legit 2 quit

I love the pace of these past few videos, it's not nearly as cramped as they used to be. They also don't feel like they're being kinda dragged out like I sometimes get when I watch Alec Steele.

@@jayson8394 that's the point though. Motor oil is never clean. It's not just oill. It has other chemicals in it that are good for your car, but bad for your lungs. And when you quench in motor oil, those chemicals burn off. Use cooking/vegetable oil.

idk if you're already thinking this or not, but i would probably use some sort of wrapping to secure the spearhead to the pole by the hooks on the sides. it'll just add a bit of extra security to the bond, if you get what i mean. anyways, this build is looking great so far!! i really like the concept.
