- A Special look back to 2005, here are the rerouted 5 train announcements from Brooklyn College - Flatbush Av to Eastchester Dyre Avenue in the Bronx via the 2 line ( 7th Avenue Express ) .
In 2004 the original 5 train announcements with Melissa Kleiner were redone by Jessica Ettinger and here we see original transfer announcements featuring the 9 and V trains. These have long been replaced.
Recorded at various times between 2004 and 2013. Compiled and edited to a full program in 2020.

The 5 train didn't always say East 180th Street. It used to say 180th Street until around 2010. Also that's the wrong Pelham Pkwy announcement. That Pelham Pkwy is used for White Plains Rd
I'm a train operator and before they changed the announcements after 2019 I would turn the volume up to enjoy these announcements working the 4 & 5
Such a throwback they have changed these announcements so much since then.
2:35 is the best announcement ive ever heard.

Awesome as always. Some of the R142's on the (2) and (5) still had the (9) transfer as recent as 2007.
It was known as a Error until it got fixed.
Does anyone miss Charlie Pellett’s safety announcements? Almost all of them have been replaced by Velina Mitchell except for the “Stand Clear of The Closing Doors Please” and Last Stop announcement which they also play one after by Mitchell telling everyone to leave the train for it to be cleaned.
They could've made Charlie say attention everyone instead of ladies and gentlemen. He doesn't say that anymore due to gender offense.

The fact that back in 1958 you would see Low-V's and R12's on dyre av and since the branch was owned by a railroad there was only 1 platform which at the time the station was under used.

Man have times changed the strip maps on the 2 and 5 aren’t even the same their merged and half the stops now from Brooklyn to the bx have SBS route announcements it’s crazy how times change now thanks for this it was amazing

Awesome sauce. Too bad this was after 2004 though. I would have wanted to hear the original announcers. 1:42 that would have been extremely helpful if it was still around. 4:20 nice old transfer that's not voiced by Charlie Pellet.
All of the transfers need to be voiced by Jessica if Dianne announces the destination stops. If Catherine and Kathleen can do it then so can Dianne and Jessica.
Miss the 5 express ann from Flatbush. We need 5 local Flatbush-Dyre (EP Local, Lex Loc, Bronx Loc)

I've always loved the 2/5 program reroutes via the other line because the program would always use the wrong "The Next Stop Is"

This is a 2005 announcement video. M trains were sent down nassau st into brooklyn during rush hours at this time. 9 and V trains were active at this time as well but were discontinued in 2005 and 2010 respectively

If it is an Express train why is it stopping at Hoyt Street a local stop
Tracks on the Lex and 7th avenue lines have a final transfer point just after Atlantic-Barclays. After that, they're separated. That's why at late nights, the 4 skips hoyt - despite it being local
