I'm amazed by how many Studio One users are out there today. I'm a Steinberg user since Cubase XT and at one moment I thought that nothing can ever compete with Cubase. It still is an amazing product, but so is Studio One, Sonar, Reaper, etc. Nothing to be ashamed of nowadays if you are a non-PT user. Whatever works for you, is the best DAW.
Hey man my name is Nativ and I am from Israel, I love your tour vids. So insightful, gives inspiration, shows how pros work, and really teaches. I love your approach, very human, makes us feel like producers in the company of a fellow teammate. Keep it on, my man.
Amazing video!..great job guys!...just a little correction on the environmental plastic segment.... discarded fishing nets and bio waste has been proven to be over 90% responsible for destroying the ocean and its inhabitants!..but plastic does have a small footprint effect!
This is like synergy. Like two cosmic forces coming together with a common purpose. Two passionate professionals. Like Vangogh meeting Picasso. Mutual respect for each other and for the craft itself. Really great to witness this.
WOW! What a great feature and interview! So much great information! What an amazing studio... and so cool to see a pro studio using Studio One! Thanks Warren and thank you Luca!
Warren - wow, man! What a great set of interviews and tour of a killer studio! And, Fergie ... a fan of yours with interest in PLAP! So cool. Well done, as usual! You rock, my friend.
Wow!!! I've been waiting for ages to see another PLAP studio tour. Then you give us Hansa and now this!! Big up to Luca... he's one of my favourite mix engineers. He's so giving and sharing. Such a great guy!! Awesome studios too. Thanks, Wazza!
Studio One sounds a lot like Cubase Pro 10, can drag and drop plugins/VIs, do complex routing and quickly set up side chaining (on v10), customize endless shortcuts
Wow, I have known about Luca and Studio DMI for a while but didn't know how deep they are into the whole ecosphere of electronic music. Good to learn something of their history too. Good luck to them, nice one Warren.
A very good explanation crossing all the features of mainstream studio. Take a special look at 1h13m when you find out how the design and acoustic solutions are conceived.
Amazing, I had to stop at 33 minutes, because with your high quality I will never get time to get my own music down. (Prepping for an acoustic gig with plenty of hand-holding) Definitely going to watch the rest later. That Italian engineer was amazing, lot's og really cool infos and gear.
Techno and House started in the bedrooms of Detroit and Chicago/New York... Europe gave the sound love when America wouldn’t ... EDM began on Wall Street when the Majors were losing hold on listenership to the Global Underground... (they tried it once with the term “Electronica“… Didn’t work) Also to happen concurrently was the advent of digital streaming and the death of the record store ... Thank you, Corporate interests and mammon! :)
Indeed, I remember in 87' when 'Strings Of Life' came out it created a whole new scene in the UK! Suddenly there were huge Raves and club nights, but it fell on deaf ears in the US. Shame, however we loved it and by '88 it was the main scene driving music in the UK!
This is so inspiring. What these guys have achieved, their ethos and their 'anything is possible' attitude, is a real step forward in the modern music (community) industry. Bring on the 2020's, we've got so much music to make! Thanks Warren, great video.
Luca a beast, I mean this is the guy in EDM. I been following him for about the last year, and he always blows my mind. Hes not just pro, he like that next level pro, future sound, changing the way we produce music kind of $h!t. I tend to bounce between the rock and edm worlds in my music, and between warren and luca I have been making the best tracks of my career. Much respect and love to both of you!
Great stuff Warren! I thought it would be some sort of semi-promo thingy and boy how I feel like a dork atm :-) I enjoyed it thoroughly! One question, could you post the link to b sharp program? I am very interested in this idea for schools and kids tp be exposed (properly) to EDM world :-) Great job once again and thanks for posting your tour and so many insights and great tips!
I would give my left testicle to work in that studio just once. I can live with just the other three. (HA!) But I would be so happy just to sit there and quietly learn.
You know what is also right in your face? The TB 303 and the TR 707, through a budget mixer (ie. Phuture - Acid Trax) ... Recorded to Cassette Tape, no less! None of this mono summing in the low end and bell-curve in the middle... Pssh! New tech is surely great, lest anyone forget how good the originals sounded and how simple they were to produce!!! ;)
Not that I am trying to minimize or dimish anything but somehow this learned sentences why use which piece of gear for "sweetening" this or that is like you're listening to a learned by hard written text. I may be way off but it all sounds like that nowadays. Ughhh… everything is sooooo... Sorry... Hey Warren, nice job my friend! It's always nice to see new stuff and studios! Thnx for that!
Thanks a lot. I had to research my favorite techno rave artist right now which is Digital Boy and I bought the cds at premium price. I had no idea he lives next state to me. I appreciate.
One of the most "difficult" issues is when the artist/band has a mix they are "in love" with & you do a mix that is so much better balanced & aurally appealing, but the artist/band is hung up on their version (but no one else likes it!) It's a funny dynamic with people & their perspective of their work.

Which studio would you like to see a tour of next? I'll see if i can make it happen! :)
Strange Music compound in KC :)
St. John's Wood - make a trip back to blighty!
A studio in Toronto Ontario... so many great ones ... than we can have a meet and greet 😁
Sylvia Massy's Studio Divine in Oregon would be awesome.
