It’s really a shame this game isnt backwards compatible on xbox or getting remastered before the sequel. I get has different publisher but wish they’d find a way especially since story is related
Religion is a HUGE part of 40k's universe. Common soldiers refer to space marines as demigods because space marines undertake a series of surgeries to receive new organs to elevate their physicality to be super soldiers. An extra heart, an organ to promote stronger bones, extra glands to promote muscle mass, enhanced healing, extra sets of lungs, etc. Then to top it off they receive something called a progenoid gland that carries the genes of their legion's Primarch, essentially genetically engineered clone sons of the primary god-like figure humanity in this setting worships. Space marines are like 3 pegs down from perceived "demigod-hood", so they are both physically and "spiritually" closer to demigods than normal human beings. Also, I'll always recommend Dawn of War to get into more warhammer games, especially for getting a taste of the other factions in the universe.
as a hardcore warhammer fan, it is deeply interesting and fun listening you explain the plot to Space Marine Matty. Glad you are liking idea of the universe and hope you can explore it more on your own time.
Currently playing through this on my 360 for the first time before I get space marine 2. So far 10/10. Pure FUN. Absolutely action packed with a solid challenge.
@@Jamie-1428 oh, well that’s understandable, a publisher tripling the price of a very old game is always shitty to me, does Relic Entertainment even see that money these days?
@GuILty718 All good, I’ve just never heard of any publisher changing the price of physical copies of super old games retroactively. We see it occasionally digitally though when they think it’s beneficial monetarily. Glad you were able to get it closer to its original price though.
Got it on. GOG for £8 on sale (still £40 on Steam). Got it as I LOVED Space Marine 2. On 4K with reshade mods etc this game looks pretty decent too. Been really enjoyable thus far.
I loved this game back in the day. Back in like 2012 Gamestop was selling XB 360s for like 50 bucks. I got a slim model and bought 5 or 6 cheap games. I got this game COMPLETE for $6 in good condition. XB 360 titles have skyrocketed physically lately. I am so happy i picked up a ton of 360 games when I did. I also have the Steam Edition and it is actually better than the 360 version. But im never getting rid of my physical copy. It also lives digitally on my modded XB 360.
yeah so, Titus's story is basically put on pause. What happens between games is he is put in stasis and interogated occasionally. The inquisitor who took him turns out to be a heretic. So he is released but he cant return to the Ultramarines cause he is considered warp touched. So he joins the Deathwatch, who guard specifically against Xenos, and he chose to "wear the black" as in he doesnt wear his chapter colors while serving. He serves there for 200 years until the Primaris Founding, gets the upgrade and is tenatively allowed back after the Ultramarines found out he was still alive. Then Space Marine 2 opens to him, demoted but back with the Ultramarines 200 years later. The Boltgun game takes place right after Space Marine 1 and you as another Ultramarine, recover a shard of the power stone that the bad guy in that game used to open a portal to the Warp for some purpose.
I saw the title after seeing his other video and immediately knew I'd see a comment up top about the Marine(s) outrage lmao and then I'm sure they'll be even more outraged that he got the title wrong AND put artwork up of him in their armor on the thumbnail.
@@sixspense794 yeah but there’s more than one space marine in the game and they work together as a unit. There are several halos in halo lore but the each game usually revolves around 1 specific halo ring.

i was a orc horde dlc at some point so much with space marines 2. i love the tyranids a lot but orcs would be dope. Gaming as a whole has really taken a step back from orcs in the past 10 years. its time they made a come back.

The special edition is on steam.
It got remastered for PC not too long ago. It runs buttery smooth on my base model surface pro 8 and it's by no means a gaming PC.
Get a key for it, the publisher raised the price before 2 came out.
Runs amazingly on steam deck
you can still buy it on the PlayStation store on my old PS3. I just did and it plays fine. Didn't try it on my Xbox 360, but suspect the same.

I'm so glad this game is finding a new audience and is getting the recognition it deserves after all this time. One of my favourite games ever.
I remember thinking this was a Gears of War knockoff when I first started it but by the end I loved it.
The irony is that Warhammer 40k is one of Cliffy B's inspirations for making Gears of War.
I mean it is a knockoff of gears of war and God of war but with a space Marine
Everyone watch out, the publisher raised the price of the first game before 2 released, it was always under $20 previously now it’s full $60.
i got it for free yesterday

Matty just refuses to call these games by their proper, singular title: "Space Marine". And I'm totally onboard with it
Lol, I hope Matty continues calling these Space Marines, it's pretty funny
Statements like this are so played out at this point. “Blah blah blah… and I’m here for it / all for it / onboard with it”. Robotic NPC dialogue.
