For 12 years??! Wow! You must have boxes and boxes full of these super cool and beautiful DIY ornaments Andrea... I'd love for you to continue sharing these ideas. Might just inspire me to try to create something similar with materials that are available here in Amsterdam. Can't wait for the next video!
Azelynn is so sweet for saying that her favorite thing about the holidays is spending time with family instead of presents 🥺 You sure taught her well! Clever to use sponges to make cake...it's sponge cake! 🤣 Lol, I love the elf skits at the end. I hope you & your family had a great Christmas Andrea! 🎄
Those fake cakes look good enough to eat. Love that the kids helped you make these. Kids love to craft. Happy and healthy new year to you and the family.
I love those rainbow sprinkles Greyson!!! I’m always attracted to pastel candy land theme! But I get intimidated but the amount I know I would have to buy to make it look fabulous. But you make so many of your decor! That makes it extra EXTRA special! Using sponges are genius!! Super light weight and so realistic looking.
You are right - it does take a lot to make it look right but I just add to our collection a little more every year. Also making the ornaments with my kids are memories I will always cherish - even if I always get left doing them all by myself at the end. #momlife 😂😂😂
Its great to watch that you have your children helping out. :) ♥ Brings excitement to them when making hands on art and craft ideas with their mumma! Looking forward in your next video.
ciao Dre complimenti sei bravissima e le tue creazioni sono meravigliose, tutteeeee di tutti i video! posso chiederti dove acquisti i tuoi glitter e gli accessori che servono per ornare tutto? grazie mille 🥰😘
Very cute! Was there a reason you didn't just use a thin layer of the spackle in between the sponges, instead of making fake layers with spackled ribbon?
Thank you for checking out my video. Yes - you can definitely just use spackle between the layers but when I tried that method - I was having to use so much spackle to get a very small thin coat in between layers. This was my way of getting a uniform line without wasting all my spackle.
Good idea! I, myself, am going to spread a layer of "frosting" in between the sponges. Seems (so) much easier than painting ribbon with spackling. Looks like it'd be a big mess, and I'd 4sure burn myself w the glue doing it as in the video. Super cute (AND) looks easy!! Im doing this for a cake stand.
Janie - thank you for checking out my video. 🥰 I use a variety of colors but just tend to grab the ones that are pastel colored. In my opinion pastel colors look the most realistic. I mostly use baby pink, baby blue, and mint green paints. I also have some primary colors that I make pastel by just adding white paint to them! I hope that helps!
Hi Andrea! Loooove this so much! Looks amazing! Love how it looks on the Christmas tree, and the kids had so much fun making them, that's the best! O no naughty elf lol! Happy holidays my beautiful friend xoxo
Hey there! Ah thank you so much for checking out our video. It is such a challenge sometimes to find ornaments to go with our Candyland tree so we just have fun making them ourselves! Thank you for watching & Happy Holidays!
When you do find them, "they are so over priced" ! ! We know what it costs to make them. . . I just can not respect "sellers", going "way beyond fair compensation" for their time & materials! 🤑. 🤑. 🤑
Cute slices but using real sprinkles on a fake bake is inviting bugs, you can easily purchase fake sprinkles anywhere now or make them using polymer clay with the kids
If you put a coat over real sprinkles you'll have no problems....🔘I put thick layer of mod podge over real sprinkles🔘..... I live in Florida (bug central) I leave the non-Christmas lollipops, cookies, etc out all year. So far, no ants ! 👍. 🍰. 🍡. 🍧. 🍩. 🍰

I love this video! I was wondering where you got those particular sponges used in the fake cake slices?

In the U.K. what is the same as speckling if that’s how you spell it?!
"Spackling"....... in hardware, home improvement store.
