I was stationed on Crete for thirteen years. I did not find out about Elafonisi until my second tour there. After that, I would go there whenever possible. Paradise here on Earth, without a doubt.

How to get to it from chania airport?
It’s around 2 hr drive from the Chania airport. Renting a car and driving here is the best option but you can also take a cab to come here.

Great speaking voice!!!! Which route is best to take? Best roads etc.
Thanks 😊 we definitely recommend the road which goes through Cave Agia Sophia and Elos village. You can stop at either one on your way to Elafonisi or on the way back.
Should i bring my own beach umbrella?
There are sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach but they very limited and also only at one corner. This is also the case with other amenities on the beach.
This is the best beach in Greece . The main beach in Crete is not as nice as Elafonisi beach .In Australia we have a red sand beach in Western Australia but not pink . We have pink lakes though .
