Avs truly have big problem on goal, somethin vhich can´t be runaway from. Then again Jets got from season to another playoff team, I hope Jets go deeper this season.

I don’t blame Helly for the Avs loss, I blame stubborn Rick Bowness. He said publicly he’d rather coach his own way & lose instead of changing his line-up.

In response to the title of the Locked on Winnipeg Jets episode in question, begging on the future hasn't paid off yet; in fact, over the past 10 playoff games, the Jets have only allowed fewer than four goals in one of them: a 5--1 win over the Golden Knights during the first game of that April 2023 playoff series. If defense is supposed to help a team win a Stanley Cup, why on Earth isn't a greater emphasis on that team not being placed on an ability to effectively defend in the postseason? How is allowing four or more goals per playoff game anything but a disastrous approach to postseason play?

I am afraid Stanley is too big and too slow to compete with fast forwards. Is McGroarty leaving the Jets a sure thing? By the way, I heard rumors that the Wild are very keen on Laine to put more oil into the coming fiery matchups.

Logan Stanley suffered 2 ankle fractures last season. So yeah, he was not fast at all. But who wouldn't be a little slow? He is 110% this season. His speed, or lack thereof will be of no concern. So when it comes to Stanley, don't worry, be happy.

The NHL Network is targeted to a US audience, so they often promote American teams and players playing for American team. It does not surprise me Hellebuyck doesn't get the credit he deserves on that American focused network. The US does not have a sports network focused on hockey, as we have in Canada. The NHL Network fills that roll for them.

Sorta funny because Helly being an American would certainly seem to be in favor of him being promoted haha.

The jets can’t be serious about winning when they have a right side d constructed the way it is. Also, the so called 3rd line can’t play more than the 2nd. Miles away from being a true contender

I really want our team to do what the San Jose Sharks did this offseason next offseason. Firesale everyone except Vilardi, trade them for as many picks & prospects possible & get like a few solid veterans in next years FA to help the young guys out like they did with Jake Walman, Barclay Goodrow & Tyler Toffoli. The Sharks look like a very solid 5th or 6th seed next season. I wouldnt be surprised if they make the playoffs next season because they had a fantastic draft & offseason. Thats what our team should do because thats really how you build a winning team.

The sharks are no where near the playoff line.

Dude I’d be shocked if the sharks finish outside of bottom5 😂. I understand what you’re saying because that’s how u create a cup contender for years to come by tanking, but the jets can’t afford to do that. We wouldn’t be able to get butts in seats for the 2-3 years of sucking. Also if they traded helle rn they’d get crucified rightfully so

@@Jklmnopmmmm There's no doubt the Winnipeg Jets have had very limited playoff success via having won only a single playoff series since their 2018 trip to a conference final: a 2021 sweep of the Oilers. As tempting as it may be for the Jets to tank, the Canucks didn't need to finish in the bottom-10 two seasons ago to become good last season. Patrik Allvin, a one-time Penguins executive appointed Canucks' GM in January 2022, realized in his first full season he would have so much work to do to turn the Canucks into a legit playoff-calibre team, and from January to March 2023, he went to work starting with a blockbuster trade that had involved sending centre Bo Horvat to the Isles.
So the Jets have Connor Hellebuyck. That should be enough to win a Stanley Cup, right? Yet over their past nine playoff games the Jets have allowed four or more goals in each. Sure Hellebuyck has allowed a boatload of ugly goals but poor defense hasn't helped him either. Winning just one of their last nine playoff games is further proof that allowing four more goals in each game is only leading to disaster. How soon if ever the Jets will allow fewer than three goals in a playoff game is anyone's guess as much as I believe that this season they'll finish more likely in the top-five of their division than further down.

A complete tear down and rebuild. 4 years minimum, of maximum bad seasons and high draft picks, maybe a lottery win or 2?

I'll say until I die that LB should've got a playoff game, huge mistake by Bowness IMO, I know, I know Helly was the 1 all reg season, but a reset or break could've pivotted the series lots of coaches have done this to huge success in the past Helly was getting smashed in that net every single night even the 1 win they had he let in 6.

Perfetti is a dud. The last thing the Jets need is another small injury prone player signed to a long term deal !!

Only winnipeg fans and media sources view Helly as a top end guy. The rest of the league views him from afar - and they are probably more accurate in their assessment.

I would highly doubt this one. There's no way the rest of the league thinks a two-time Vezina winner isn't a top end goalie. The only question has been with his playoff performances, but there is zero question that he's an elite, franchise-level goalie.
