You can tell Wen didnt had any problem againsts Sun chops. I was rooting for Sun anyway as a chopper myself. He has a bright future and hope to see him on group A some day.

Rarely see Sun was dominated by a player at the age group. Wen's forehand loop was just too powerful, too consistent and too fast for Sun to handle. The adoption of large sized plastic balls reduces spin so much that it is very hard to play defense nowadays. If a player has consistent and powerful loop, he usually has no problem with modern day defensive players. Most top Chinese players have powerful loop, they usually eat choppers for breakfast, like Xu Xin, Fan and Ma Long. Equipment wise, many new blades, rubbers have been developed to make the offensive players hit with more spin and power so they can reduce the effect of negative impact of the new balls. For defenders, not much help from equipment manufactures. The trend is we'll see less and less defensive players at the pro level, especially at top level, which is pretty sad.
I don’t think so. You’re much more opponent dependent, if you’re playing LP compared to SP. With SP, you can generate spin and vary it yourself. That’s almost impossible with LP rubbers. Even somewhat grippy LP like Curl P1/4 or Feint Long III aren‘t as good for generating rotation yourself as a defender compared to SP rubbers. I doubt, we will see an LP defender coming out of China anytime soon. And besides Ruwen Filus being a comparatively high ranked LP defender, he has a hard time playing against a strong international offensive player with a hard hitting forehand. Give Sun Yang some time and his defense will be even better. Defenders generally peak later compared to offensive players. It’s a pretty complex playing style, which needs more time to hone your skills.
@@TTDefender He really has to improve on the fast shots coming into his body. Generating enough spin with sp when you don't have much time to pull your arm up is very difficult.

He was more likely to overshoot. Sun Yang needs to develop more backspin chops to mix them in his chopping game.
Furthermore his strength is not fully developed, so it leaves so many uncertainties to conclude the results.

What year was Sun Yang born?
Sun Yang needs to develop his backhand attack hit when the ball is short… He needs this in his arsenal like Ju Se Hauck
Wen ruibo looks like he can beat many senior players even In top 20

Anyone knows what is sun yang's bh rubber ?
Short pimps TSP Spectol
@@mfcaceresp Thanks, red? blue? or just TSP ?
@@mapletennis3998 Just TSP
@@mfcacerespno he changed to Victas S1 recently.
@@sunyang636 Isn’t it supposed to be the same rubber since Victas bought TSP? However, two weeks ago I’m sure he was using TSP
Maybe Sun would do better if he used long pips?
He play good against players with slow loops but can't handle powerful loopers. Long pips could help with this
