me too. Wouldn't it be ironic if this year, now that the focus is on Brian Burns...... the hope is STILL can Ojulari play a full season?? If he can, there should still be plenty of snaps, plenty of opportunity for him to have an impact. I'm really excited about Burns and having Ojulari at the ready could still be a great situation. Go Giants D
Andy is still dying on this “Azeez will Be Cut” Hill. Perhaps Shane mentioned Basham and Ryder because he was highlighting bubble guys that could be rotational in his system. Also, for the savings of Azeez you aren’t getting anyone good. Eli Apple/Justin Bethel/Fabian Moreau level as noted by Spotrac - that’s not going to help the team more than Azeez and they already have the money from Waller for a Guard
Something missed here: It's not just about the yearly numbers, it is also about how many games won/lost when the big moments occurred. I like Slayton, however, I very distinctly remember the inopportune drops when the game was on the line to win or lose. 3d and short in the last playoff game...Slayton wide open, ball hits him right in the hands...Slayton drops it and the Giants have to punt. Had the Giants defense not held up on the Vikings last possession, game lost. Unfortunately, this is what you get with Slayton, poor performance when the chips are down.
Very fair points to bring up. And it doesn’t matter if you are the number 1, 2 or 3 in the WR room. The big moments loom large. That said I think this past season was really a step forward where you *could* see the best version of Slayton this season.
He beat him in a a few, quests what that’s good. We don’t need to worry about Thomas, it’s positive. Nabers will beat Banks. Banks will shut down Nabers. It’s camp reps.
Come on Azeez will not be cut … this is a crazy hill to die on …. He’s cheap 2 mil… not 20 mil …and at that price even with injuries if he gets you 100 snaps he’s cheap!
Speaking of Azeez Ojulari and being a waste of a second round pick... The New York Giants allowed Dave Gettleman to be the head guy for four drafts (2018 - 2021). Let's look at those picks: - 2018...not a singular player is on the team after Saquon Barkley departed during free agency. - 2019...despite 10 selections, only three remain - made a home run selection in Dexter Lawrence but missed on Daniel Jones, De'Andre Baker. - 2020...three remain from the 10 selections, nailed the Andrew Thomas, Xavier McKinney picks - 2021...may be the worst draft of his time in NYG...one player remains (Aaron Robinson) while the 1st round Kadarius Toney was a flop, Elerson Smith was a whiff and Ojulari could be traded/cut any day. JFC.
@@billm7035 I think that's a huge overreaction and far from reality. The 2022 class is shaping up nicely albeit the miss on Evan Neal stings. He snagged a pass rusher, a #2 receiver, a starting linebacker and two depth pieces/starters in Flott, Belton. The 2023 is a wait-and-see with a few but he nailed the first back. Deonte Backs was a fun watch and will get better with a potent pass rush. JMS was inconsistent but with a more consistent OL, I'd imagine he gets better. Jalin Hyatt may be an absolute stud now that the team has a true #1 and a slot guy - he can not stretch the field so long the line holds up. I'm not going to pretend these guys hit a home run in their drafts but nowhere near as bad as DG.
@@Chalk89 I appreciate your fantasy world, unfortunately I deal in facts. 18 picks his first 2 seasons and NOT ONE has proven to be a great or even good player making a consistent positive impact. What’s worse is an astonishing 8 of those picks were taken in the first 3 rounds including 2 top 10 selections. GM’s DREAM of getting that amount of draft capital. Neal is a bust, enormous waste of draft cap. Joe may lose his job over that pick. Thibs is average at best, 70% of his sacks came against two terrible OL’s. Banks was owned by good receivers. Not rated in the top 50 CB’s by ESPN or PFF. Let’s pray he improves. JMS was rated 2nd worst C in the league. Terrible start. Hyatt was manhandled at the line and was rarely open. WanDale has flashes but not durable so far. Ezeudu was embarrassingly bad. One of the worst G in the NFL. Flott was terrible and weighs less than my right leg.
Kavon., is fair weather and a horrible run stopper.. I’m not comfortable with him being a main guy… I’m not ok with any player who actually lose games for the team single handedly.. Barkley did it multiple times with his bad clock management.,, and kavon did it running off sides being to hyped when the weather was fair..
@@onegiantpodcast not at all.. he probably the most hyped of all our top pass rushers ever picked,, but he fair weather … his effort is also suspect.. watch the film.. he take plays off
He has hardly been healthy ., but the few times he was, he show he a better player then kavon.. the effort on runs from 5 is horrible.. he a fair weather player!
It’s probably a bad idea to judge someone’s heart based on injury. That said, all you need him to be is a serviceable rotation player. He can/has been that.
I’d keep azeez as a rotational pass rusher

Yup I(Adam) believe Ojulari can be a great sub-package player this year. No pressure, hopefully healthy, and high impact.

Ahh ... don't let him back pedal. He meant what he meant. He referred to as getting cut, not making the team.
@@jrgnz76 Andy might have a rough start to the season 😂
I know it’s too early to tell, but I’m already a lot happier with Nabers than Odunze and maybe even MHJ.
Happy to have him. Not going to worry about comparisons in Training Camp
Burns did not beat AT multiple reps lol. Burns beat him ONCE ..AT has dominated since

😂 right I do think at some even on an insane under snap count you(Andy) have to think…”yeah that’s value”
Now a trade would be a different discussion.

Gettleman was a joke and Mara should fire himself for allowing tht shit to happen
Joes picks may be just as bad. Just terrible so far

Players speak highly of players and new teammates often. Azeez has struggled to stay healthy, it’s just a question to open the conversation.
