My deepest gratitude for your beautiful words about the "Dear Angus" bonus feature on the Arrow Phantasm box set. Just the tone of your voice and seeing your expression, I could sense you meant all these kind words. It brought such a smile to my face and made me feel glad I could share this tribute. Arrow asked me to create a final letter to my friend/mentor (at times, even a father), and then to read it. Emotionally gut wrenching but something I dearly needed to honor Angus and for closure--both for myself and I also hope for fellow phans. I am so glad you mentioned it in such a positive way. Thank you so much for the very kind message, Kristen. I teared up more than once listening to your fondest memories of Angus. I could feel in your voice what a profound impact he'd had on your life and just how much that he will be missed. It was truly heartfelt. Thank you for that moving tribute.
The editor, David Fein, sent me the link to your video and afterwards we agreed that you "definitely got it"--as in you understood the feeling and the warm intent behind the tribute. :) You did such an awesome job with your entire box set review and David told me you'd "saved the best for last" (meaning "Dear Angus") and that he could sense that you were getting close to tearing up just talking about it. I was so touched and honored by this--it was like you were sharing my grief and my memories, and this is what the tribute was truly all about. A chance to both honor Rory and to also allow fellow fans to experience a little of my own life and get a true sense of who Angus Scrimm was as a human being (a very private man in real life). He was like a father and a soul mate to me in so many countless ways, and a book is truly something I hope to do one day as I've kept hundreds of pages of journals, etc. Anyway, not trying to brag. Just so glad to have someone to share this with, and so happy to have you say all these kind things publicly. It was the first time I'd heard someone's reaction to "Dear Angus" outside of my own family/friends, and seeing your reaction for me was very profound and wonderful. Thank you again and hugs to you. :)
I watched a video of your time with Angus and it made tear up, it's so awesome that you got to be around everybody and got to know him, I love these movies, they hold a spot in my heart, in my other comment I put on this video I told how I fell in love with these movies and I do wish I could have met everybody, hope you have a great life, and stay safe!

I bought the other bluray collection set I didn't even know they made an arrow video collection, I love arrow videos releases, they always give so much more stuff to watch and read and just awesome art work, even though I bought this other collection I may have to see if I can find the arrow release, thanks for your video, I love Phantasm, it's my favorite movie and favorite series of all time. So glad there are other people that love this kind of stuff. RIP Angus! Wish so bad I would have been able to go to one of there conventions, because I would have loved to meet everybody, but oh well, maybe one day.
That's one hell of a rundown!
If anyone wants this set, it's currently (6:10am CST 6/13/2018) around $48 (35.99 gbp) on Amazon.co.uk, and the price fluctuates drastically on a regular basis. It was selling for a far higher price two weeks or so ago.
...and actually, it's less than that if you're ordering from America, because the price includes the VAT which does not apply and is deducted at checkout.
Zavvi.com has this set on sale right now for 49.99 GBP. I would DEFINITELY recommend getting the more expensive tracked shipping if you're not in England, as packages without tracking information seem to just vanish sometimes somewhere along the line....
Good detailed overview of the set (My box finally arrived Monday the box itself is awesome this is one of the best Arrow video box sets to date (It's on the same overall quality of the Hellraiser scarlet box set (You can not go wrong with Arrow they have always done a bang-up job with there releases) For those who are going to buy it buy it direct from Arrow it's $15.00 cheaper then Amazon.uk plus your earn points! Points added up quick
Another great vid. My boxset turned up yesterday and I have been happily making my way through it. A great set but I agree with your comments about part 3 and the lack of input from Don Coscarelli. Although a fan of the first 3 films I must admit I haven't seen 4 or 5 yet so I'm looking forward to watching them over the weekend.
I like the old commentary from MGM but the one part that always stood out like a sore thumb was how Angus apparently insisted on re-recording his portions of the commentary as they do come across as extremely stiff and scripted while at the same time you can hear bits and pieces of his live commentary here and there throughout the track. It kind of takes you out of it.
So, which version of Phantasm II is best overall including the special features/extras, the Well Go USA version, the Arrow Video version, or the Scream Factory standalone Collector's Edition?
The arrow box set is nice the book is nice but I don't like the eco cases the movies are housed in not keen on that, I have the welgo USA set which I do prefer.
Likewise🤘💯 I have both and I actually think the well go set looks better🤑🤪🤑

Just watched Part 4 and really enjoyed it. And love the song Have You Seen It by Reggie.
I don't quite get everyone saying "Phantasm Remastered" is the best the movie's ever looked. The colortiming is way off. It's too dark in most of the movie and it has a green sheen over everything. The scene with the Tall Man on Main Street has Reggie's windows as an empty black void instead of reflecting the city around it. The end titles are so dark as to be barely readable.
"Phantasm II" and "III" have got serious colortiming issues as well. "II" should be cold and blue/grey most of the movie instead of warm and orange-y. "III" has moments that are too dark and the "other side" sequence is WAY too bright. You're supposed to be able to see Angus step into the light and block it out. You can only barely see him in this new master. And the last shot of him, his skin should have a blue-ish hue to it because he's standing in a freezer. Here, his skin is standard flesh-colored. These little details drive me up the wall because it's so different from how the movies have looked until now.
If you want to hear Coscarelli talk P3, you'll have to get the West Go set. It has a new audio commentary with him and his editor.
It's not my TV. The DVDs wouldn't look right if something was off there.
When I saw "Phantasm Remastered" in theaters, it had that too-dark and greenish colortiming there as well.
