Sometimes JC's supporters claim that John always apologises. I think not. I think he only apologises when it is more harmful for his immediate reputation not to do so.
In the video I just watched he does rectify what he had said about the size of scabies and that they are not insects as he originally claimed but part of the wider spider family. Indeed. He talks about "putting a decimal point in the wrong place." I'm not so sure. He also talks about the "insect" mistake as though it were a mere slip up, something he knew but just "mis-spoke" about. Anybody can make such mistakes of course , but I don't think they were slip-ups. I think they revealed a fundamental flaw and a gap in his knowledge about scabies, something I would expect a nurse to know about in the north of England.
Alternatively, if they were mere slip-ups, one right on top of the other, it is a little alarming to think what slip ups he might have made as a nurse. You wouldn't want a decimal to slide when administering medicine, surely, nor to think that one drug was pretty much like another, the way that he seemed to think that insects and spiders are. I do wonder if this man was a danger long before he was making videos full of misinformation.
And how are we supposed to take his claim that he always keeps Ivermectin on hand in case he gets scabies? He either leads a remarkably unsanitary life (possible) or he is giving the message to his AV viewers that they too should keep Ivermectin on hand in case they come down with (not Scabies but) Covid.
What a disgrace this man is.
👏

@@RantingYogi simple, clots like these form post mortem, particularly if there’s a long period between death and embalming with the body being refrigerated. If you take a look at the first three slides on the quizlet web page, which is where I got my information.
From a paper published 2015
“Clots and thrombi identified at autopsy are generally classified dichotomously as antemortem or postmortem. Current articles and textbooks support this approach. Earlier literature often contained descriptions of a third category, the agonal thrombus that forms while the patient is dying. We collected 238 autopsy cases including 80 rapid/sudden deaths by violence and 21 (including 1 pediatric) deaths from acute pulmonary emboli. We analyzed the gross and microscopic features of clots and thrombi. Agonal thrombi were identified in 122 cases (89% of cases of “slow” death). Agonal thrombi were not identified in cases of sudden death. We found that a comprehensive description of the macroscopic features was a key to interpretation. The gross and microscopic features of agonal thrombi “chicken fat” support their hybrid nature. The dichotomous classification of clots and thrombi seems to be founded on assumptions of clinical significance but is perhaps oversimplified. Agonal thrombi area distinct class of thrombus that, although not clinically significant as an immediate cause of death, arises by its own mechanisms and has its own morphology. It is advisable to avoid classifying agonal thrombi as mere postmortem clots because in forensic cases, they may help support an argument against sudden death.”

One thing I don't believe is that masks helped stop the transmission, if anything I would say it helped spread germs and viruses, we had to wear them in hospitality and on warmer days for example colleagues would constantly adjust or pull them up and down as they went in and out of the restaurant, then touched customers plates or drinks as they served them, same with supermarket workers, check out staff would constantly touch mask and then touch all the products as they scanned them. I really dislike watching John Campbell but am not without some perverted fascination for what his latest spurious/spewerish claims are so when, just now, I stumbled across one of his videos from a week or so back, I couldn't help but listen. The brief 11 minute video brought up several things that I feel a great need to comment on so here goes. I'll make them as separate posts as they are about separate issues.
The particular video I watched would have brought him in a great deal of money, no doubt and yet it said nothing beyond expressing outrage. It was in support of Bridgen (whom we discussed a few weeks back) and lambasted both the British PM and the Leader of the Opposition. It kept appealing to viewers that they would be "incredulous" at the claim that vaccines were safe, yet there was (of course) no evidence given by John to suggest otherwise.
So my point is that he is now able to move into these easy videos where he virtually comes on and huffs and goes tch tch and throws out all sorts of exclamations that will appeal hugely to an anti-vax audience without even the work involved in cherry-picking. He can just hook on to other videos where has lied, cherry-picked, misrepresented conclusions from studies, etc. None of that takes a lot of work but it does take a bit. By comparison, proper analysis of proper studies is time-consuming, takes skill and effort in how the conclusions are to be clearly and concisely communicated - something Dr Oliver does well but I'm sure at considerable burden on her time.
Campbell has done the easy work - the cherry-picking, lies and grabs at out-of-context pieces. Now he's cashing in with videos that take no effort at all yet will get him yet more gravy on that gloriously appealing gravy train he is riding.
As I noted before, not just a grifter but an increasingly lazy grifter.

Hello Nose Picker. What have you picked for us this week? Oh, it seems you're confused about those who lie and those who are gullible enough to believe liars. Well, I would say John Campbell knows better (on some things at least) and deliberately lies but many of his followers are simply ignorant, science-illiterate and confused about whom they should trust and whom they should not. John and others pushing the idea that clots are more associated with vaccines than with covid itself very likely do have these people scared, which makes the latter good fodder for clickbait. Once you are up to date with vaccines and have the misinformation sorted out, it is so much easier to just get on with your life, but Campbell's followers think there is a great deal to worry about and he keeps feeding the nonsense to them - with very fine financial gains to be had for doing so. The analogy that Bridgen makes in his rant, shown by John Campbell (in the video mentioned in my previous post), seems to be no analogy at all. I know nothing about this British scandal but it seems it has something to do with a computer program which went awry and that postal workers got the blame.
This is nothing like the case of vaccines where it seems (from where I am in the other hemisphere) that those with their fingers on the pulse of public health and certainly the vast majority of health workers in the NHS are saying that vaccines are safe. It is the likes of Bridgen and Campbell who are not listening. It seems Bridgen and Campbell are discrediting the work of health care workers, putting them under increasing stress and trying to make people generally distrust them. It is they who might be doing something a bit more like what might have happened to postal workers. But I am not very familiar with the case and am happy to be corrected.
It seems one of those "analogies" that is no analogy at all.
A better analogy might be Robo-Debt in Australia where a computer system was brought in which shifted the onus of proof onto poor welfare recipients. already suffering some of life's most difficult challenges. The workers at the coalface in Centrelink tried their hardest to dissuade the government of the day and to point out how cruel, unfair and lacking in compassion the new system was but the government ploughed on regardless. Thank goodness when it came to covid and the social measures needing to combat it and to deal with it, governments in Australia had the sense to listen to those working in the healthcare system. That (along with scientists) is who Bridgen and Campbell would do well to listen to.
👏
The post office scandal. In the late 90s, the post office introduced a new computer system, developed by Fujitso. It was called Horizon. Then lots of sub post office masters , had money go missing from the accounts. Many of them were prosecuted for theft, some were jailed and some made up the missing money from their own savings. Nobody believed them when they said there were faults with the Horizon system. This only came to light in 2019 and some have had their convictions quashed. Many are still waiting for their convictions to be quashed. Many are still waiting for compensation. It has made the news recently because a TV drama about it was shown recently. It turns out that the post office and Fujitsu probably knew that the system was faulty.

Coincidentally, I saw an ad on TV last night for something called [I think] "Mr Bates vs the Post Office, which looked like it was about that. What is the most common logical fallacy?
The ad hominem is one of the most common logical fallacies. While it can take many forms - from name calling and insults, to attacking a person's character, to questioning their motives, to calling them hypocrites - any argument that targets the source, rather than the argument, is an ad hominem.
Not this one then. Apart from the H/T in the title. It's always good to declare the source to aid further investigation.
That's true, but it didn't occur in this video, which provides references for the points made.
ruclips.net/video/btNsSU18zks/видео.html
"any argument that targets the source, rather than the argument, is an ad hominem" No. What is important about an ad hominem argument is that it is an _argument_ ie that the premises are intended to _prove_ the conclusion.
It is the passing from premises criticising the source to the conclusion that the source's views are false, which is fallacious. Criticising the source may be unpleasant (or even unfair or untrue) but it is only the claim that the citicisms themselves, if accepted as true, would lead to the falsity of the source's claim, which is ad hominem.
Nobody (that I'm aware of) claims that it is _because_ some claim is made by an intellectually infirm grifter that the claim is, thereby, shown to be false. Rather it is the other way round! Because untrue claims are made, and on irrational grounds and for personal gain, the conclusion is quite reasonably reached that the person making the claims is an intellectually infirm grifter.
And what is at stake in an argument is whether the conclusion is _proved_ not whether it is _believable_ The distinction is important. It's like buying a car: for proof kick the wheels and lift up the bonnet. Experiment. For believablity it is quite reasonable (and advisable) to take anything known about the character of the seller into account.

Well that's proof the embalmer is lying. It's highly unlikely that they would be embalming someone an hour after death. And they are mentioned in text books dating back to the 60s and large numbers of embalmers have seen them throughout their careers.
Just a lot of nonsense hearsay. Also, bodies are never "embalmed one hour after death".

" They're forming before death because they've seen them in bodies that are an hour or two old still warm "
Major Tom said that to Campbell, Major Tom IS NOT an embalmer.
If you read the full text he also says they may be forming after death as well.
Major Tom says 44 out of 179 embalmers who replied saw them in 2020, which contradicts the other funeral director who says he only saw them in 2021.
Why are you cherry picking bits from videos?
Thanks for your treatment of this important subject. I think the salient point being made by the embalmers is that they hadn't seen these types of clots in the relatively high numbers now being reported, and now by many more embalmers. I think the better scientific approach would be to applaud the raising of concern and propose thorough research studies to validate or invalidate the claims being made.
And I provide an explanation for that in the video. I also provide a link to an article by an embalmer who says that they are talking bollocks. And one of the embalmers in the died suddenly movie has been contradicted by his wife who works with him.
@@Backtothescience Thanks for your kind reply! I should point out that the clots being seen were claimed to not be the "chicken fat" or the "red currant jelly" variety. Maybe you were unaware that amyloid clots are found in people with type 2 Diabetes as well as other inflammatory diseases such as Parkinson's disease (Pretorius et al)
From from the article cited above "individuals with Type 2 Diabetes (T2DM) are more prone to develop microclots, due to an increased presence of circulating inflammatory biomarkers that cause hypercoagulability. T2DM patients are therefore pre-disposed due to their condition. When these individuals then contract SARS-CoV-2, they are already prone to hypercoagulation. This hyperocuagulable predisposition, explains why individuals with T2DM are more prone to develop severe hypercoagulability when diagnosed with COVID-19. "
You are perhaps also unaware that the prevelance of type 2 diabetes has doubled in the UK in the last 15 years. The number of people living with diabetes has hit an all-time high to reach over 4.9 million, and 13.6m people are now at increased risk of type 2 diabetes in the UK. (Diabetes UK)
@@Backtothescience Unfortunately, they are not typically seen in autopsies. Also, at least here in the US, there are very few scientifically evaluated autopsy reports. I say that because i am yet to hear your real opinion on things instead of going after people who are more qualified and have been wrong and admitted to it than smile and wave it off
Get real and stop thinking we are all stupid.
You can follow John Campbell because he is fully confident about the dumbness of his audiences and he can fool them every time. It seems you like being fooled and lied to. His lies so easy to prove .
John the medical criminal yup he is more qualified in coming people . She wiped the floor with his dumb lying face every time . How many times he made a fool out of you ?
Ha did you really include a link to a quizlet in the citations? Damn thats a new low in "science"
Mad Brad, I wouldn't be so concerned with quizzlets. It's more of a worry that you are a Campbell quisling.
@@WendythePoet593 that reply is almost as nonsensical as this video. Almost. Maybe you should get another booster that clots might help you!
@@bradm5731 Hello Mad Brad. Are you hoping that the anti-0vax crowd will give you the "Most Original Anti-vax Comment" Award with that little piece? Sorry to have to tell you that it's been used before...only about a zillion times. Better luck next time.
@@WendythePoet593 you should seek medical attention it appears you are experiencing some kind of episode, might be a stroke
I actually, partially agree with this comment. Quizlet is not an official source for scientific information and is not a likely source I would quote. However, this is partially how science and even truth works. We look at multiple sources and see which ones agree or disagree. This Quizlet is consistent with the body of scientific evidence until proven otherwise. Also, allied health, nurses and medical students have been using Quizlet for years successfully, as long as their answers were backed up and consistent with contemporary medical science. It's a lot like a professional opinion. It's crap evidence unless it is backed up by more superior evidence.

Nasty little Campbellses. We hates it for ever and ever and ever
Listen to the Campbell videos and decide for yourself who is more authentic. Time for some critical thinking.
I'll stick with the scientific skepticism. You don't know what that is, do you?
If you knew what critical thinking is you'd have realised that Campbell constantly lies, misleads, misrepresents, misinterprets, types out extracts (not showing the original) so that he can cherry pick data and phrases and omit others to contradict the findings of studies, truncates graphs and omits others, uses fake outrage and leading questions, commits fraud on the UK yellow card scheme, claims a conference extract (discussion paper) is a WHO official document because it's on their database when it's nothing of the sort, contradicts himself, says he's "happy to debate anyone" but doesn't. I could go on and on, the list is endless.
His modus operandi is to type out extracts from papers to show his audience, that way he can leave out words to skew the author's intent or not show the conclusion, which frequently contradicts the message he is giving in his video. He never shows the original document, why do you think that is?
You should not just listen, but also assess and check. THAT is what is critical thinking. Merely listening to someone and judging credibility based on how 'authentic' they sound is an Appeal to Emotion, almost the opposite of critical thinking.
You gotta laugh, he’s nuts! He’s hurting people based on lack of knowledge! Sad man
He is a disgusting former nurse.
But there are people who follow him despite his confidence in their dumbness
It's worse: He's greedy, and he's telling them what he knows they want to hear, because every time one of them clicks on his lies, ka-CHING!

@@MysticOblongThe Carliar posted 3 clot videos in 4 days.
Today we are treated to two Johns! One by-name, the other by-nature:
"There were no excess deaths in 2020 - it is that simple and nothing will change my mind, all [or?] the minds of those in the industry who have their eyes open to this lie - and there are many.
"The reality is the death rate only soared the moment they began putting needles into arms in January 2021. You can believe it or not but I was one of the people picking up these poor souls and a huge amount of them."
John O'Looney, undertaker, speaking at an antivax rally in December 2021.
The ONS must be lieing then
Mr O'Looney
In 2020, there were 607,922 deaths registered in England and Wales; an increase of 14.5% compared with 2019 (530,841 deaths).
@@S.Wally. By Jan 18 2021, 0.68% of the UK had been vaccinated. If O'Looney was busy it was because the UK was leading the world with its second wave reporting 18.61 per million deaths from covid that day.
“Nothing will change my mind”. There’s the nub. Facts, data etc. will not change his mind. He has joined the cult and is lauded for the part he plays. The tone of his exchange with Campbell was quite disturbing though.
@@peterbrockway5990 That was the peak of that wave. The rate of increase had already been turned at the beginning of December 2020 by the strict mitigation measures and not by the vaccines, which only began to assist the fall in cases in March 2021.
I love the way you said you are not a medical doctor. Something that nursey doesn’t do for his cult members. Not that I’ve watched all of his gibberish, but certainly in the ones I’ve seen.
Meredith Campbell will love this talk about corpses.
Oh yes. The account the does nothing but attend funerals.
@@diandian9827 Yes, that's her. The funeral hopping, wake gatecrashing ghoul. She ridiculously claimed she had to close down her hairdressing salon because her vaccinated clients all died (some suspect something sinister went on in that salon and the crazy John Campbell stories are a coverup). There's rumours she's become a funeral director so she can get her hands on the corpses. The friable clots come in handy when she runs out of noodles.
@MysticOblong, that was my thought precisely.
@@diandian9827 That's the one! Typhoid Mary and Merry Death have a lot in common, it seems.
@@MysticOblong Meredith: Friable clots? Yum-yum!
She cooks up a storm while shoving horse-paste up her bum.
If Campbell really wanted to raise awareness of medical interventions which caused problems. He could have done a video on the harms of mesh implants and sodium valporate.
Ah yes, but would there have been much money in producing such videos? I expect not much.

The swiftest, funniest debunk yet 🎯
Blood clots were happening well before Covid and The Vaccine , I’ve had two DVTs and PE well before the pandemic . Whilst in hospital plenty of other patients with clots . Singer Lynsey De Paul who was fit and well , not overweight died suddenly from a clot , again well before pandemic
However COVID causes clots.
You keep telling yourself that lol 😆

Campbell's description of his clot expert:
"a major in the uh in the United States Air Force for a career.
Also an engineer, mathematician and data scientist and analyst.
So in a good position to do this work."
Tom Haviland lost his job in the military in October 2021 when he refused to comply with the Biden administration's COVID-19 vaccine mandate. Haviland's termination paved way for him to take his anti vaccine confusion to new heights of stupidity when he took the demented Died Suddenly "documentary" seriously and thought huge blood clots in corpses would make a fun new hobby. So the crazy cooker sent out a survey to embalmers so he could pick the replies he thought could help along the stupid story he fell for when watching Died Suddenly. What a twerp this deranged anti-vaxxer is! Just another typical Campbell guest, a loony on the scam. There's a couple of huge clots right there, that's for sure!

@@MysticOblong Thanks for filling in the gaps in Campbell's light-on description. Heavy-Landing-in-the-BS is exactly the sort of cooker that Campbell would latch on to as (pardon me while I have a fit of laughter) "evidence".
@@TheAtt22 No, I haven't but I'm laughing already, having previously found a wonderful lode of both poetry and mirth to be mined from O'Looney, the Looney. Thanks for telling us about this. (I think previously he has called it "abduction" rather than hospitalisation - there's gratitude to nurses and doctors for you!)
Can you make a video about Adam’s vaccine injuries? If you already have can you direct me to it? I’m just curious what you have to say about it? 🤔
