Great review! I just received mine yesterday and shot some video with it today. That ‘detect only’ AF feature is a game changer for me! I LOVE this camera.
Fantastic review! I love the lock button, its pretty much my most important button during the first dance at a wedding! I switch between the bodies a lot at this time and the camera straps have often threw my settings around, and also it stops me trying to compensate for when I move around the dance floor - really like keeping the same settings for the whole dance and think compositionally rather than have my mind on micro adjustments to exposure
You would think that a lot of the software and firmware changes could be ported to the R6. Especially, the Focus ability, the video mode facility and I dare say the video record limits. It will be interesting to see if Canon does do this.
Your b-roll is the best I've seen so far from this camera pReview series. Anxiously awaiting low light and shadow recovery for photos! I still haven't found a mirrorless that is as good as my trusty 5D Mark IV (most mirrorless exhibit banding that isn't there for DSLRs. The EOS R was terrible for this).
Thanks so much! Yep, hoping I get the camera back in the studio for some more formal tests. The reason for banding is typically the way the phase detection autofocus points are on the sensor itself, on a DSLR the autofocus is a separate system. But the bonus to mirrorless is that the AF sensor can be intelligent!
In regards to low light performance i would’ve loved to see you compare the footage of the test you did comparing it to the mki. Zoomed in on the noise especially.
Also the rolling shutter in video you mentioned looked horrible. A comparison to the original would be nice to see as i’ve never noticed my r6 having that bad of rolling shutter during video
@@colekidd2 watch other reviewers and the rolling shutter wasn’t that bad. A lot of his looked due to bad framing and picking out one bad photo over plenty of good ones.
Thanks for the video… That opening sequence was amazing work. I'm currently shooting on an EOS R and was thinking of upgrading to an R5. I'm mostly a photographer (travel, events, and some sports), but do videography maybe a quarter of the time. Now I'm thinking the R6 Mark II offers a better feature-set for most photographers, even ignoring the price difference. The R5 doesn't have the new hotshoe, limitless 4K HQ video recording, 40 fps electronic frame rate, the pre-recording frames/video option, or in-camera HDR and focus stacking options. The R5 does offer 8K and ALL-I recording, but I can't imagine many use those recording modes, and the 6K external recording is a nice option on the R6 Mark II. I suppose the R5 does do 4K 120, which I could see myself using. The 45mp resolution bump seems to be the last major benefit of the R5. But those don't strike me as being worth the extra $1200… What are your thoughts if choosing between the two?
Honestly 4k120 on the R5 is super limiting anyway...it can only be used in 422 10bit ALL-I so MASSIVE file sizes, limited recording times, and the files are already slowed down with no audio. The R6II is absolutely the best for the price. I fully expect to see an R5II in the next few months though due to those limitations you mentioned. The new hotshoe will become an issue because the new Flashes that Canon is releasing will not work on the R5
@@learningcameras Thanks for the reply and for pointing out the drawback of 4K 120 on the current R5. I hope you're right. Hey...so both are great but the Canon R6II has better autofocus performance and a few extra video features. So if the price difference isn't a big issue I'd probably say go R6II
One thing no one mentions on the videos is the R6 mkII uses about 90% of the viewfinder for focusing the RF 600 and 800mm F/11 lenses. The original R6 only used about 40% with these lenses.

Your EF Sigma lens with the adapter will work perfectly. But you will have to use adapters. Unless Canon changes, there will never be a new RF version of that Sigma lens
hi, i have a 5dm3, so it's very old. to focus on moving subjects we have to use AI Servo and hold focus down. are you saying with these new cameras, you don't select any different "mode" at all? you simply just keep it on AUTO detection, hold the shutter down halfway, and it will remain focused on the subject?
That lock very throw me off. I like my R5 even though I need a back up camera like r6 ii. If canon removes that lock switch away completely, I’ll appreciate it.
Wait a minute. Tamron G2 for canon can't work with autoficus for this R6 mark ii? Beacause I already got one and I recently ordered a Tamron lens. Please do enlighten me. Thank you
They only work with an adapter. The R6II uses an RF lens mount and the Tamron is only available in EF mount. You can use an adapter but they don't work natively. You will get autofocus with the adapter but it will be more limited than if it was a Canon RF lens since Canon isn't allowing 3rd party lens makers to support RF natively just yet
I'm curious to know about the evf and rear screen. I like using old manual lenses to shoot photos and videos, and with some other brands, I find that the viewfinder/rear screen resolution drops when either shooting stills or video. I'd love to know about anyone's experience with the screens compared to Sony or Panasonic screens. Thanks!
Thanks! Yep, 24MP is plenty. Maybe product photography/advertising could use more (and the R5 works for that), but for everything else, 24MP should be good
And what about the lens adabter??? Than you can use all yes all lenses . So i dont get it why you guys keep saying about the lack of lenses lol look how many you can put on you will never ever spend that amount of money in your whole life to get all.
Same as the R6 I believe regarding HDMI although I thought you could record in camera as well with the original R6 but not positive as I haven't tried that
2:23 as a mirrorless user, theres a habit of turning off the camera to conserve batteries. Canon did the right thing because now you can turn off your camera with just 1 hand.
There is no record limit on the R6II. It can overheat after 40 minutes in 4k60 depending on conditions but only if the temperatures rise. At that point, you can either switch to a mode that doesn't overheat (4k24) or wait for the camera to cool off. That's how most cameras work when they overheat
It didn't seem like it. I tried to figure that out and I haven't found any dual native ISO. Will definitely be doing some comparisons as soon as I get the camera back in my studio!
How does the AF system compare to the R5 in high frame rate photos and video? I’ve found the R5’s video AF to bounce around a lot and not always be reliable, any update here?
Well sd is not the problem, angelbird make an over v90 sustain wright speed sd that give me 11seconds of 30fps burst at 100iso on my R3, the buffer is mostly the problem! Yeah yeah same digic X but R3 has dedicated memory on the sensor... but anywaygood sds v90 will work the best and if your sandisk are not v90 rated it is not accurate to use those, and they are the worst quality/ price ratio
How nice of Canon to dress everyone in contrasting clothes or set up the contrasting environment. I wish they would trickle the firmware update to remove the limit in video to the R6 because they use the same processor and it doesn’t have any limitations for that. R6II doesn’t seem like a worthy upgrade to the r6. Maybe RP or R.
Great review!! Does it remember faces? If my subject is dancing in a group of people, can it remember to keep only my subject in focus at all times? And how would I set this up? Trying to decide between Sony a7rV vs this one. Thanks.
Nope. All-I edits better on older computers since it has less compression and is technically higher bitrates, but for almost everything, IPB is fine and has no noticeable loss in quality...just smaller file sizes which are REALLY convenient for the type of stuff I shoot.
It's the EXACT same price as before and the exact same price as the A7IV. I'm not saying it's cheap but it's one of the only "upgrades" I've seen that didn't come with a price hike! The Sony A7IV is $500 more than the A7III for example
Canon has 37% share of the Mirrorless camera market, hence they have 37% market share of the lens market ..... They'd be fools to go give that away. Canon is one of the greatest lens manufactures and in the longer run Canon shooters won't have to use adaptors. Sony depended heavily on third party lens manufactures ( especially upon the Tamron-Minolta partnership of the past) to get where they are now. So what Canon is doing is protecting their future as a major lens manufacturer .....
I think they will eventually open it up. I think they have it closed to build out their lens lineup a bit more first to get a head start. Truth is, opening it up sells more cameras so while you might have a smaller lens share per cameras you sell, you will sell more cameras and thus sell more glass and own more market share. When the Tamron 28-70 F2.8 came out, A7III sales went up massively. I started recommending that kit like crazy because for under $3000, it was insanely awesome
Because they already have a high resolution camera...the R5 if you need it. And high resolution is bad for frame rates, buffer, video, and a bunch of other things so sometimes putting high resolution in mid range cameras comes at a cost
@@learningcameras It seems to me that canon knows how to market low specs and sell it as an advantage. I remember my days with the 7d, man was i glad to be rid of it. The terrible dynamic range and colors and everyboby kept saying it was good. Canon never again.
Nice reviews, but I have to say that camera manufacturers are becoming irrelevant. In relative terms I'm a well to do man but I am not going to spend $12,000 - $15,000 on a new R mount kit. NOBODY (except a couple of thousand people globally) are going to spend ~$4,000 on an R5 and ~$2,400 for a 50mm and you have not even gotten started yet. There is no real market to sustain them. They will be out of business soon. Chinese will come in and sell exactly the same thing for 1/4 the price. They have lost their perspective.
If you can afford it, buy an R5 and try it. The AF on my R5 is next level. The differencein AF performance to my old 5d4 is like going fprm MF to AF. Fyi, the R5 is selling very strongly in China. The Chinese who can afford the R5 love it. The RF system glass is next level iq also. The only real question atm is which camera to buy; the R3 or the R5. The Sony a1 was way too small in my hands, lacks animal eye af on video, and has a 46mm mount, meaning my fav 10mm rectiliear ef lens would vignette. Canons 52mm mount is the way to go.
Got the R6 II this week and it's amazing! The high ISOs and shadow recovery is about 1 stop better than my 5D IV and the AF is soooo bang on. Even my adapted Sigma 50mm 1.4 is perfection, and I still can get full H+ high speed FPS shooting with this lens. Wow. Another cool thing is that the electronic shutter goes up to 1/16000s... not even the R5 can do this.
A7IV wins on IQ for stills without a doubt but everything else it's Canon. Unless you need some small primes with decent video AF in which case you need the Sony.
That ISO 12,800 video looks incredible viewed close up on a 5K monitor! I suspect because the larger downsample video will look better than the R6. I wonder how it holds up for photos though?
That sequence off the top!!! I like that Canon has implemented the lock button into the switch, I just wish they stayed more consistent. On the C70, C300 Mark III, and all of their cine line of cameras the power switches always go (off, on, lock) so I don't understand why they have it (off, lock, on) for the R6 Mark II. Very minor gripe, great review as always!
Dan, you're IT man! Amazing footage and great skills. Today I will subscribe to your channel. Truly top stuff Dan! Bravissimo (Superlative for Bravo in Italian). I shoot Nikon Z6ii now, would you recommend the Canon for Video instead?
Means a lot!!! Appreciate that. If 4k60 is important, that's the biggest benefit to the R6II but you also get 10bit 422 in log which can definitely help. The R6II costs a bit more but it is a better camera overall. The Z6II is still solid though and I like Nikon's flat profile so I wouldn't be in a rush to upgrade. There is a good chance that the stunning video features from the Nikon Z8 will start working their way to a Nikon Z6III sometime soon
look forward to seeing your reviews. I'm a Nikon user, but I've also used Canon a long time ago. The feeling is new. I wish you good things in the future.
But - I think the canon menu system and full touch screen control and battery performance and weather sealing and ergonomics and tap to focus and tap to shutter and costs make this a natural progression for canon users
Great review! Though you're kinda inaccurate in the part claiming we have very few options with RF lenses. Canon have actually covered lots of the focal range ALREADY (ultra wide & telephoto) with their budget RF range and they're pretty good quality for their prices. Moreover it's a bit odd you compared this to the Sony A7R v's system - that's a $3900 camera vs this canon $2500 bruh. 😅
The review is good: But the Camera .... Why didn't Canon make these improvments with the original R6?.. or wait untill they got it right. The buffer is too small .. wait 20 deconds? in this day and age?.. R 6 overheats.. This one doesn't. tell that to the thousands who got the previous lemon. ! Canon is either slow to learn, , or just greedy. what? sell the R6 and buy the MKii? same old trick as before. Too many models are coming out. Do it slow, and do t right the first time Canon.
Great review as always, thanks! Canon always feels like the cool kid who just moved to a new school. Canon has the largest user-base, phenomenal history, manufacturing, and artistic acumen to draw from and yet, they can't figure out an on/off switch, add touch-bars, and then deny users one of the top reasons everyone switches to Sony, 3rd Party glass. The new cool kid is often trying to test the wind to see how things work where he's landed (as a military Brat I resemble these remarks :D)... even if the new kid recognizes the differences, he rarely ever really "gets it" till he's lived there several years. Canon should not have these "new cool kid" issues at this stage in their game. Put the on/off switch where everyone else does, support Tammy, Sammy, Sigma, etc... their kids need to eat also, and get with the full-HDMI picture. That said, great camera! Even though I just purchased an A7iv, Canon is still my favorite user experience overall.
Hello Dan. Long time fan here. Question: if I press the record video button and Im in photo mode which video settings will be used. Can it be custom set like the R5 where it goes to C3 video settings ?? I need this function and my current R6 or my A74 do not support this. Please check or test. Thank you.
Would love a video on comparison of the top Sony, Nikon, Canon cameras at extreme ISOs... I.e. If there's just not enough light and you have to shoot at ISO 12000+, are some models significantly cleaner / clearer than others?
On the power switch… it’s not even similar to the one on the R7. Not just for the movie mode but also it turns in opposite direction! I won’t have both cameras but I can see it could be very annoying for some people. And there was no reason to mix things up.
@@frankfeng2701 absolutely, I was not referring to the whole layout, I agree with you on that. As per today R5, R6 and R7 have completely different power switches. I just find it inconvenient if you own two of those bodies. Nothing that affects overall performance of course, just awkward.
Would LOVE to see a photo comparison between the R6 and the R6 II. My wife shoots photo weddings on two R6 bodies. She’d love to add an R6 II but is concerned that with the new sensor the colors will be different and require color matching.
@@77dris "R6 original was a bit off". Are you referring to the yellow-ish hue every one was talking about? Also, is the yellow hue only evident when shooting raw (post-processing)? Or does it show up when shooting JPEG/ HEIF formats as well?
I have all the RF L primes and the 15-35 and 70-200. Don't feel like I would even want to own any 3rd party lenses so I'm happy with Canon's choice. Red Ring Gang. I'm just waiting on that RF 35 L at this point. The R6mii is a solid choice for sure.
@@kenjiyamamoto8765 once again, you don't need them but there are others that do need them. Sony has a 24-70mm G-Master that goes for $2,300 us dollars. Sigma has a Art 24-70mm that goes for $1,300.00 us dollars. Tamron has a 28-75mm that goes for $900 us dollars. Rokinon has a 24-70mm that retails for $850 us dollars as well. Sony's 2nd lens that is on the $1,000 dollars level is their 24-70mm F/4 that goes for $800 dollars. The build qualities are all different for the 5 lenses but the prices are the biggest factors in people going with the brand. And if 3rd party lenses weren't that important, I'm pretty sure Rokinon, Sigma, and Tamron all be out of business right now. Canon on the other hand, cannot afford to lose money on their lenses or cameras which is why you will never see them go on sale until black friday. Sony wins easily because they allow 3rd party lens development.

Opening video was sick Dan! You’re definitely one that has got the art and the tech down! Have had the R6 for about 1.5 years and it’s been great with the exception of overheating on a couple jobs. Latest firmware update, a couple settings to make sure are on, and recording externally on Ninja V, pretty much corrects the overheating in video. Now just recently picked up an R5 and on the latest firmware I don’t get any overheating recording internally and externally. Using the R5 as main and R6 for 2nd body. Not sure if the R6ii is spec’d enough to upgrade my R6 while the R5 is my main body. I like the Photo/Video switch but it’s in a completely different position than R5 and R6i. I’ve always felt the power switch should always be on the right side so you can operate the entire camera with one hand. I do like the face only video focus option (should add to other cameras via firmware), the uncropped 4k60, and unlimited recording (granted I can get unlimited with Ninja V). So looks like the options are: • Sell R6i and get R6ii • Sell R6i and get a used R5 • Do nothing
For photography, if you currently own the R6, then the Mark II is not much of an upgrade. Unless you're a true hybrid shooter - 50/ 50, then yes, sell your current Mark 1 to get the Mark II; I reckon the color sensor from the R5 would complement the R6 II better. Or simply keep the Mark 2 as a back up camera.
My spouse would appreciate option 3 - do nothing. But, that won’t quench the inner hunger for a better camera. It’s a never ending endeavor in the pursuit of perfection. I am only human. And I crave to tech temptation. 😂
Dan,Informative & Impressive Video as always. While seeing some initial reviews from others about R6 Mark 2, i came to know, While Recording in C-log 3 with View Assist Turned On, the False Color WON’T WORK. Pls test it in your final production camera & tell to us. If Yes, try this technique : we can set the View Assist & False Color to two separate customise buttons & Turn Off View Assist while using False color & turn it on ( View Assit ) after using it ( False Color ). We don’t know whether we can set the View Assist to Customise button. ( like to know this too ) Also, want to know whether Zebra works while View Assist Turned On. Waiting for your Secret Project Video & also for Full Review of R6 Mark 2. Thanks Have a Nice Day Dan. 😊
Thanks for the video. Do you see improvements in IBIS performance in video (wobble)? And do you know if you can toggle the IBIS off in settings while leaving the RF lens IS on? That is not possible on the R6. And one more question: Are the C1, C2 and C3 program modes now also available for video?
Thankfully the latest processors handle 422 10bit better but yeah, a few years ago it was a major problem...either had to shoot 8bit or transcode. But I have no issues editing on a 2021 or newer Mac with an M1 or M2 processor

Would this be an upgraded from a Canon 80d?
Absolutely... Big upgrade
Thanks!
Dan, in your opinion, is 24 mp sufficient for resolution? great presentation.
Thanks! Yep, 24MP is plenty. Maybe product photography/advertising could use more (and the R5 works for that), but for everything else, 24MP should be good
Great video & footage. Agree that the only deal breaker on this camera is the lens selection ( or lack of) compared to its competition.
And what about the lens adabter??? Than you can use all yes all lenses . So i dont get it why you guys keep saying about the lack of lenses lol look how many you can put on you will never ever spend that amount of money in your whole life to get all.
The current RF lens selection are fine. Quit moaning like a spoiled child, lol...
I was hoping for it to have shutter angle
You don't get that but there is a new flicker reduction mode that allows you to fine tune your shutter speed
Canon or sony colors?
Amazing content Dan, is it possible to display clean HDMI via external monitor and still record in-camera at the same time?
Important question. The original R6 was super crippled when you have HDMI connected
Same as the R6 I believe regarding HDMI although I thought you could record in camera as well with the original R6 but not positive as I haven't tried that
Same frame rate for mechanical shutter (r6) and 40 electronic (r6mk2), would it be possible for the r6 to do the same with firmware update?
2:23 as a mirrorless user, theres a habit of turning off the camera to conserve batteries.
Canon did the right thing because now you can turn off your camera with just 1 hand.
I still think it would be better to switch from photo to video with 1 hand
4k 60 record limit means that you can record maximum of 40 mins at 1 go, but once you stop you get another 40 mins?
There is no record limit on the R6II. It can overheat after 40 minutes in 4k60 depending on conditions but only if the temperatures rise. At that point, you can either switch to a mode that doesn't overheat (4k24) or wait for the camera to cool off. That's how most cameras work when they overheat
Hi Dan. Do you know if they have dual native iso? And how does the R6ii lowlight performance compare to R5 in video mode?
It didn't seem like it. I tried to figure that out and I haven't found any dual native ISO. Will definitely be doing some comparisons as soon as I get the camera back in my studio!
When adding a monitor can you use the camera screen to tap focus?!
As of now, you cannot
How does the AF system compare to the R5 in high frame rate photos and video? I’ve found the R5’s video AF to bounce around a lot and not always be reliable, any update here?
This has improved thanks to the deep learning and subject recognition aspect. I'll compare it directly soon but yes, it has been more reliable
Do you review Fuji at all ?
Yep... Have reviews on the XT4 and XT3 and just got the XH2 in so more on the way
Well sd is not the problem, angelbird make an over v90 sustain wright speed sd that give me 11seconds of 30fps burst at 100iso on my R3, the buffer is mostly the problem! Yeah yeah same digic X but R3 has dedicated memory on the sensor... but anywaygood sds v90 will work the best and if your sandisk are not v90 rated it is not accurate to use those, and they are the worst quality/ price ratio
Great video Dan! By the way, may I ask how the production of Portkeys LH5P II and Sony A7IV video is going?
How nice of Canon to dress everyone in contrasting clothes or set up the contrasting environment. I wish they would trickle the firmware update to remove the limit in video to the R6 because they use the same processor and it doesn’t have any limitations for that. R6II doesn’t seem like a worthy upgrade to the r6. Maybe RP or R.
R6make II, is it still overheating to shoot video, or can it only shoot 30 minutes of video, or unlimited time video
Unlimited up to 4k30
Great review!! Does it remember faces? If my subject is dancing in a group of people, can it remember to keep only my subject in focus at all times? And how would I set this up? Trying to decide between Sony a7rV vs this one. Thanks.
Another great review!!!
Thanks!!!
I might be able to afford the R6 now 😂
I included a link in the description, first sale I've ever seen on it!
Is IPB. A problem?
Nope. All-I edits better on older computers since it has less compression and is technically higher bitrates, but for almost everything, IPB is fine and has no noticeable loss in quality...just smaller file sizes which are REALLY convenient for the type of stuff I shoot.
Two words Bloody Expensive
It's the EXACT same price as before and the exact same price as the A7IV. I'm not saying it's cheap but it's one of the only "upgrades" I've seen that didn't come with a price hike! The Sony A7IV is $500 more than the A7III for example
NO ONE BETTER THAN DAN WATSON ❤ Such an incredible video! Plus your hot 🔥
Why is the resolution so low.
24mp thats more than 10 years ago.
Bad for photography, the only thing i care about.
And still no new affordable mirrorless camera from Nikon. So disappointing.
First impression: nice
Second thought: can't afford it
Last consideration: I'll stick to my d3200....
Fuji H2s has stacked sensor
It's not full frame and it's still $1000 more
When is these mark something something will end. It’s getting boring seriously.
Were you scared that you might drop the camera off the cliff and into the ocean? I was. That made me nervous 😬
Haha...I would have been if it was mine (don't tell Canon lol)
@@learningcameras I promise, I won’t tell them 😂
Nice reviews, but I have to say that camera manufacturers are becoming irrelevant.
Begun the clone wars have.
Hahaha
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Got the R6 II this week and it's amazing! The high ISOs and shadow recovery is about 1 stop better than my 5D IV and the AF is soooo bang on. Even my adapted Sigma 50mm 1.4 is perfection, and I still can get full H+ high speed FPS shooting with this lens. Wow.
Another cool thing is that the electronic shutter goes up to 1/16000s... not even the R5 can do this.
Do you like more files of the R6 II or the R5?
R5 is slightly clearer and a tad more resolution visibly, but side by side photo print almost indistinguishable. R6 mk ii is really good.
With the new 24 MP sensor, did they fix the "yellow-ish" hue skin-tone a lot of photographers were noticing on the Mark 1?
That sequence off the top!!! I like that Canon has implemented the lock button into the switch, I just wish they stayed more consistent. On the C70, C300 Mark III, and all of their cine line of cameras the power switches always go (off, on, lock) so I don't understand why they have it (off, lock, on) for the R6 Mark II. Very minor gripe, great review as always!
Thank you, great video...just ordered mine to replace my R5.
Me too! (Great video and just subscribed)
5DmkIV or R6mk2? :)
look forward to seeing your reviews.
Do it slow, and do t right the first time Canon.
micro hdmi and rolling shutter...with that, im out!
Cold but true... just getting into mirrorless with Canon R6 MK ii so I'll have to get acquainted with this stuff
I.e. If there's just not enough light and you have to shoot at ISO 12000+, are some models significantly cleaner / clearer than others?
still no tips and tricks video on this camera
Great for your preparation and creativity
On the power switch… it’s not even similar to the one on the R7. Not just for the movie mode but also it turns in opposite direction! I won’t have both cameras but I can see it could be very annoying for some people. And there was no reason to mix things up.
To be fair, R7's button layout is a lot more different from R6's than is R6ii's from R6's.
@@frankfeng2701 absolutely, I was not referring to the whole layout, I agree with you on that. As per today R5, R6 and R7 have completely different power switches. I just find it inconvenient if you own two of those bodies. Nothing that affects overall performance of course, just awkward.
Great review! You answered so many questions other reviewers failed to mention. Looking forward to more of your content
Sold.
CANON is KING! Always has been! 💪
Would LOVE to see a photo comparison between the R6 and the R6 II. My wife shoots photo weddings on two R6 bodies. She’d love to add an R6 II but is concerned that with the new sensor the colors will be different and require color matching.
On the way!!!
Colours should be close as they always are with Canon (though the R6 original was a bit off). I'm mostly concerned with low light and shadow recovery.
@@77dris "R6 original was a bit off". Are you referring to the yellow-ish hue every one was talking about? Also, is the yellow hue only evident when shooting raw (post-processing)? Or does it show up when shooting JPEG/ HEIF formats as well?
@@learningcameras Where? 🤔
6:54 - HDR for moving images. Is this perhaps a sign that Canon has the technology now to implement DGO for video in their smaller mirrorless bodies?
I have all the RF L primes and the 15-35 and 70-200. Don't feel like I would even want to own any 3rd party lenses so I'm happy with Canon's choice. Red Ring Gang. I'm just waiting on that RF 35 L at this point. The R6mii is a solid choice for sure.
but there are so many people who can't afford canon's RF lineup that they do prefer 3rd party lenses.
100% i have canon R6 also 24-70 2.8 and RF 50mm 1.2 i feel i dont need any 3rd party lenses too,.
@@harryvuemedia5106 dude as a canon shooter it does't matter to me if 3rd party lenses are existed, i will always shoot with native lenses,.
that's arguments are just coming from sony users,. we canon shooters doest care other camera bodies because we know are camera brand is no.1 and reliable,.
sony camera bodies depreciates like sh!t in aftermarket,. thats how bad sony comapies are., 🤣
very disappointed, the lack of a full size hdmi port is a deal breaker. Had so much trouble on my Sony A7R111 with that.
The solution is to wait until companies have make a camera cage and then typically those will have a cable lock
@@learningcameras Thank you Dan but I want as less weight as possible and having a monitor only on my gimbal is all I want. Best to you.
So looks like the options are:
• Sell R6i and get R6ii
• Sell R6i and get a used R5
• Do nothing
Personally I think some of these features will be added to r5 via firmware
@@ljs2274 hope so, unless Canon plans for a R5ii.
Any issues with R5? Reviews on b&H not giving me confidence
( like to know this too )
Also, want to know whether Zebra works while View Assist Turned On.
Waiting for your Secret Project Video & also for Full Review of R6 Mark 2. Thanks
Have a Nice Day Dan. 😊
Great video Dan - excellent initial review. Loved the intro video! Fresh - differentiated you from the other reviewers!
Appreciate that Heiko
Hi, does it shoot video on shutter/aperture priority mode?
Thanks for the video. Do you see improvements in IBIS performance in video (wobble)? And do you know if you can toggle the IBIS off in settings while leaving the RF lens IS on? That is not possible on the R6. And one more question: Are the C1, C2 and C3 program modes now also available for video?
I left Canon due to how awful the 4k 60 codec was to edit. Happy camper with my Sony systems.
Thankfully the latest processors handle 422 10bit better but yeah, a few years ago it was a major problem...either had to shoot 8bit or transcode. But I have no issues editing on a 2021 or newer Mac with an M1 or M2 processor
@@learningcameras Good to know Dan. Thanks for the information and keep up the great reviews.
