So glad this is on RUclips. Memories never forgotten! I sat here *air bowing* the whole song, and I haven't heard it in years! Love good music. Miss orchestra so much man.
@@EarlYuHi_Earl_is_awesome i dont think their group officially sight read the piece. i think they just had to learn and perfect the piece for the concert within a week or something
I remember playing this my Freshman year of high school, it was an instant fan favorite. I just recently played it again and realized again why it was a favorite
i love this song so much, my orchestra class is performing this next month. i'm very excited and i hope everyone who watches loves it as much as i do!!! probably one of my all time favorites!
The six grade orchestra at my school is doing this for our spring concert! I'm so excited! I absolutely love this song! Especially the beginning (violinist)
Violas have the best part. We get the sad violin part AND the jazzy baseline... and still have time to practice the intro and the accompaniment. Nobody plays violas though, this makes me sad :(
Dana Custard I knew we were playing it because I volunteered last summer to alphabetized the music library and Mrs. Wickman told me we were going to play it
We were going to play this piece last year, but many violins weren't up to the challenge, and sadly the conductor decided to take this piece off, and we were going to play it on UIL.. :( oh well
I have to play first violin part, I’m only a seventh grader building off of a few years of spacing out in public school group lessons, WHAT DO!? I SO I’M SO SCREWEDDDD…
Nah (I'm not Ilia Urgen) my conductor was Susan H. Day and we played her piece Tango Mysterioso. She didn't fix all the problems though, so the concert went wrong.
Played this in 9th grade. I am sure it sounded less than ideal. But is top 5 all time favorite pieces I have ever played. (Cellist)
Probably because of 1:32
MrDwangar ima 7th grade and I'm doing this year
I'm playing this in 9th grade rn. I'm the only bass
Played this in 8th grade, 1st and 2nd violin for chamber orchestra group last year.
I love the beginning. 6th grade advanced orchestra is the best.
So glad this is on RUclips. Memories never forgotten! I sat here *air bowing* the whole song, and I haven't heard it in years! Love good music. Miss orchestra so much man.
I play viola, and i can hear my part very well in this piece. Very well done.
Played this for districts. Viola! Hecks yesss!
Measure 94 and 130 for violin ones are death
TRUEEEEEEE
FACTSSSS lol
i could not agree with this more
134-138 for Violas are also death.
130-148 is a bitch for the seconds lol
I am in 8th grade in chamber orchestra and we are sight-reading this for festival :D. I'm sure it'll impress the judges.
How did you know you were going to sight read it? You aren't supposed to know which song you will sight read.
for our festivals here we pick the pieces we play for festival but they need to meet a certain level of playing.
@@EarlYuHi_Earl_is_awesome i dont think their group officially sight read the piece. i think they just had to learn and perfect the piece for the concert within a week or something
I'm playing this for orchestra this year.....help! I'm a cello and i looove it!

My orchestra played this one last year! Definitely one of my favorites!
Ah, playing viola for this this year and it's so fun!
Haasiophis Sahel especially because it's pretty easy until the measures near the end

I loved the cello's rhythm at 110! :D
#CellosAreAwesome
#CellosAreAwesome
not at 23-39
All the way
Cellos are the best instrument! With harmonics, they can actually play higher notes than violins can!
I am sad I did not get to play this piece but who is the melody 2nds or 1st or bass Or cello or viola
I played this in my sophomore year of high school. I love this piece!
The six grade orchestra at my school is doing this for our spring concert! I'm so excited! I absolutely love this song! Especially the beginning (violinist)
Im playing this! This is like one of the best songs.
Violas have the best part. We get the sad violin part AND the jazzy baseline... and still have time to practice the intro and the accompaniment. Nobody plays violas though, this makes me sad :(
Definitely! I play the viola and I LOVE our part
Same
I love this song i played it for UIL competition last year with my orchestra
Casual bass player, dont mind me.
Same here brother. Playin' easy music while the rest suffer.
@@atmorton0440 best part lol
Literally the 16 bars of rest 😂
@@bluegalaxy7705 this happens to viola players too lol
This song is incredibly hard to play and i have to play it for auditions among MANY other songs like the evil eye and the hideous heart
Bass parts are the best. #2019GMEA All-state
This piece was fun to play - first chair HS viola player
I played 2nd for this in HS. I LOVE this piece!!
I played this for ILMEA! That was so fun
Yess so excited to play cello for this!
I love this song😝
Dana Custard I knew we were playing it because I volunteered last summer to alphabetized the music library and Mrs. Wickman told me we were going to play it
Me: This piece is great to hear *happy tears to play this*
Me again: Playing it *sad tears after losing control from measure 1-7*
I’m playing this right now as a seventh grade 2nd violinist. This is one of my favorites ever. Some of my parts are boring
1:35 is my all time fav part
i can't wait to play this song!!
Violas really have the best part. I don't understand why parts of it aren't the melody
Omg so relatable. My class has a tiny viola section so we have to play really loud.
Ikr i played it for the Viola and we have like no melody really.
You biased viola saying you have the best part🙄
@@Cursed_Baljeet Yes and? Also I never said I was the viola 🤨
The intro was amazing that really got me
Of course the double bass part is the best :D

I play it on the viola so its a lot easier but on the violin the notes are still very simple
+Ela Jane Sorry if this is a bit late but I can give tips for first violin. I JUST played this for a festival last week.
leopardstar100 I LOVE UR PROFILE PIC AND UR NAME 👌🏻👍🏼💖❤️💛💚💙💜
I played this in 8th grade and the turn out was amazing. I loved playing and now I'm a Freshman and I want to play it again cx.
Bit out of tune, but for a school orchestra, it's pretty good.
loved this song but HATED the seventh position harmonics on the last page, as a violin...
Sounds fun XD
3:10 is one of my favorite parts
I want to play this 😮

I miss playing double bass I played it for 7 years
Amazing.
We started playing this today and I'm scared already 😂 (I'm a violinist)
Yes! Viola power!!!!
I played this piece during the 7th grade. It's a Medium / Grade 4 level piece, which is playable for junior high orchestras.
i hated practicing for this song but i loved preforming at my strings concert though
I'm in 7th too.... we're doing pretty good but if we don't improve soon then our director said she was gonna cut the piece from our performance.
Jackie Rose I'm 3 years late, but did she end up cutting the piece?
Im playing this for a concert and competition. (Violinist)
those cellos must fucking love staccato
I have to play this whole song for auditions into symphonic...
I like the melody, but I'm wondering, what is this music about?
+chappy0423 The name of the song is old english for driven, which is the theme of the music, pushing forward.
chappy0423 The composer had cancer and this was to represent pushing through it.
About a sail boat going through harsh weather conditions in the deep sea. The composer has a memo on it.
I love this song so much the 8th graders are playing this at my school
Played this in the Middle School Advanced Program
We were going to play this piece last year, but many violins weren't up to the challenge, and sadly the conductor decided to take this piece off, and we were going to play it on UIL.. :( oh well
I have to play first violin part, I’m only a seventh grader building off of a few years of spacing out in public school group lessons, WHAT DO!? I SO I’M SO SCREWEDDDD…
Was gonna play it at LISFA but we had too many songs and our conductor, Susan H. Day removed it and I'm sad
Are u serious?? I am also in LISFA, and im disappointed, too! See U there!!
Ilia Urgen Your conductor is Susan Day? We played her March of the Intrepid last year! It was a wonderful piece
Nah (I'm not Ilia Urgen) my conductor was Susan H. Day and we played her piece Tango Mysterioso. She didn't fix all the problems though, so the concert went wrong.
I was in the middle school division. Were you as well?
Yes she is our conductor!
I playing this song in a couple months at contest
