They got babysitters for your dryer 👍 You can't when win , you can turn your back and it would happy . Glad your up and running , that Thanksgiving bring a smile to everyones face👍🚜
I'm amazed at the wheels on the small dryer, that a single axle and what looks like a car tire can hold all that weight when the dryer is full. Glad you were able to get the belts on the dryer ok, without unloading it. I don't know if they still make them, but my dad always kept what is called a V-los-belt. It's a belt of infinite length that has segments and about evey two inches is a rivet that holds the a segment, and a segment can be pried off or added to make the belt longer or shorter or be put on a shaft where it's a massive job to take apart to get a new regular belt installed. They make terrific emergency belts. We ran them on our light equipment that took 1/2" to 7/8" wide belts and they worked decent. We also had belt power, that gave slipping belts traction as often times the machines got oily, and often the belt wasn't tight enough, but the powder really helped. Those things kept us from shutting down until we could install the correct new belts.
Ahhh, ok, I didn't notice the jacks, they would be like a tow truck or latter truck would have.. That makes sense. I revisited the video and noticed the front set on wooden blocks. But I am still amazed how tough tire on some tractors and equipment are. Thanks for your replay, always enjoy your videos.
We are finally starting to get Northern fronts to come all the way down into Texas! We are getting one on Sunday. Will have some mid 50 deg. F. nights and Mid 80 deg. F. days for a few days !
hi Tyson ,murphys law especially drying grain ,turn your back once and disaster strikes.glad you got her up and running.thats a nice trailor on the liner can we get a closer look.keep the videos coming.hope you beat the weather.keep her lit.
Glad to see the end of harvest is going good for you guys, we just finished up on Thursday. Wish we had as many tandems as you, I prefer trucking with tandems over using semis
Damn the yard behind you shows alot of hard work and hours... Im talking about your hay bales... And those batch dryers uggggg... Stand and watch them for hours and nothing happen... Step around the corner to pee and wham every darn time... Great to see you again Tyson you take care...
I've been watching your channel for over a year and you do a great job. One question I have is how is Shawn related to you? Your brother, cousin? And would you ever do a video on how the farm operation works between all your family?
Since i live in Balkans, i don't reealy know how do you far up north. On your channel i learned a lot. By the way in Serbia canola is winther crop and it's harvested alongside wheat.
What fell on that roof of the damaged bin behind you in the video - could it be repaired? I was wondering after you said storage space was getting tight as you draw towards the end of combining. Being forced into the marketplace at harvest time is never good financially!
We're just getting ready to start shelling corn here wet week set set us behind. How's the John Deere Combine running for you. Hope you have a great day and talk to you later
Have you ever tried the power twist belts? You buy them by the box an it's a adjustable by removing or adding links . May not work for you but I find if its only a bad spot you can replace that area of the belt an keep running. They seam to work and last good on the type of equipment I'm working with And its one size fits most .
Couple reasons....First off if we left it standing it would still be some greens and it wouldnt be ready till late November...second it would be all shattered out from the wind. There are a few varieties now that dont shatter as easy though.
Most of the guys here ise a straight header for cereals like wheat and barley. But most farmers still use a swather for canola. We use the swather for both crops. When you swath the crop it drys out.
i know all about the hard work then a damn 50 cent piece of metal cost you lots of time & money. no fun Hope you have fixed that door for good by now tack weld it or like you said tie it up no matter what " just do it " seems like a nike commercial stay safe have fun b/c life is short
Running out of time, hope you beat the bad weather. Dryers are always a lot of work to keep them running. Thx for the video!!
They got babysitters for your dryer 👍 You can't when win , you can turn your back and it would happy . Glad your up and running , that Thanksgiving bring a smile to everyones face👍🚜

The tires are just for transport... jacks are down and blocked up
Ahhh, ok, I didn't notice the jacks, they would be like a tow truck or latter truck would have.. That makes sense. I revisited the video and noticed the front set on wooden blocks. But I am still amazed how tough tire on some tractors and equipment are.

Good video. That's the trouble in Northern Alberta..............winter is just around the corner
Yea.. if the spring planting wasnt delayed it would have been fine
Good to see ya got the dryer fixed quick. I bet them belts were not cheap.
78 dollars... got a good deal.
"Only those that never do" think that farming is easy! You did well to get the dryer working! Stay warm, Ill have to send you a Red Wings hat!
Hey I dont mind the wings lol
We are finally starting to get Northern fronts to come all the way down into Texas! We are getting one on Sunday. Will have some mid 50 deg. F. nights and Mid 80 deg. F. days for a few days !

Glad to see the end of harvest is going good for you guys, we just finished up on Thursday. Wish we had as many tandems as you, I prefer trucking with tandems over using semis

Yea I know.. dont really have a huge need for it at the moment though
another great video! glad your dryer is back up and drying good day from Lancaster New Hampshire
Thanks Steve
Are you planing to purchase a bigger combine to try and do harvest in shorter amount of time.
Doesnt matter how many combines you have...if the crop isnt ready to combine yet. The Late Planting is what put us back
Since i live in Balkans, i don't reealy know how do you far up north. On your channel i learned a lot.
By the way in Serbia canola is winther crop and it's harvested alongside wheat.
That sucks, but at least it didn't dump all of it on the ground!
good job
Thanks Sam
Hello,Great videos. How many acres is your farm?
erika bourdain Hi Erika....it’s about 2000 acres
Should show video of loading and unloading the dryers
Ill try
great video!
Good job.
What fell on that roof of the damaged bin behind you in the video - could it be repaired? I was wondering after you said storage space was getting tight as you draw towards the end of combining. Being forced into the marketplace at harvest time is never good financially!
That is one of the wind damaged bins.... still waiting to take it apart to scrap most of it
Keep them running. Do you get a heavy frost at night, that stops everthing?
Lol frosts are a few weeks ago... its freezing at night now
Assumption bites another 1 in the ass. 😉😉 are the snowmobiles ready for action. Sounds like it won't be long.
DOnt worry... hour and a half away from me they are already sledding... The got over a foot of snow
Still working on our beans in Manitoba, before the snow lol
Hows the beans doing?
You have thanksgiving in October ,
In Canada yes
Hey where the international combine lol, low heat on that canola beats oil running
No Ih combines here lol
Hello from Sweden 😀
Hello (waves)
We're just getting ready to start shelling corn here wet week set set us behind. How's the John Deere Combine running for you. Hope you have a great day and talk to you later
We just finished.. The deere broke down at the end of the night as well as one NH
Is that a 1992 John Deere 9600?
how are the yields and the prices for canola ?
Always something huh guess it could of been alot worse great video
Indeed!!
Do you raise conola for oil
Canola is what I meant
Yes... they mainly make cooking oil from it
Glad to see you got her up and going again brother it's a wee bit cold up that way for sure have a good one be safe man
Yea its getting cold for sure...not much for drying weather anymore
Better Than Us In Athabasca We Got 1 Foot Of Snow In A Day, Lots Of Crops Still Out
Im Going To Go Snowmobile After The Vid LOL
I know... I saw that... there was sled tracks in the ditches already..... crazy
What direction from Athabasca? Not nearly that much towards Ellscott.
Which is more profitable for you?wheat or canola?
Have you ever tried the power twist belts? You buy them by the box an it's a adjustable by removing or adding links . May not work for you but I find if its only a bad spot you can replace that area of the belt an keep running. They seam to work and last good on the type of equipment I'm working with And its one size fits most .
Never heard of them before... hmm
How come u swath it? Wouldn't it dry better standing up. Or do u swath it to kill it? Are those both TR 96s?
Couple reasons....First off if we left it standing it would still be some greens and it wouldnt be ready till late November...second it would be all shattered out from the wind. There are a few varieties now that dont shatter as easy though.
And yes they are both TR 96 combines...one is a 1986...the other is a 87
Jake Ziegler it dries better swathed
Why do Canadians often windrows before they combines.
Most of the guys here ise a straight header for cereals like wheat and barley. But most farmers still use a swather for canola. We use the swather for both crops. When you swath the crop it drys out.
@@Northern_Farmer Ok, thank you.
Man, I'm hoping for no snow for a couple of months yet. Not that I have crops to worry about, but, I do have a serious dislike for shovels. ☺
I dont mind it ...justlater
What year was this?
2018
You really would need a Finnish dryer with some nice automation... no more babysitting.
Or a new GT... its all computerized
That would just piss me off
It did.. I swore lots that day lol
i know all about the hard work then a damn 50 cent piece of metal cost you lots of time & money. no fun Hope you have fixed that door for good by now tack weld it or like you said tie it up no matter what
" just do it " seems like a nike commercial
stay safe have fun b/c life is short
I think it’s sean turn to drive that truck
minor spill
I got offered a job last year in Alberta but it was 100000papers to send in. I gave up. Iguess i will come as an 17yo afghan instead
Thats to bad
Shawn is very quiet, he must be camera shy;;;;;;
