If not, extra joy if I can keep up for whatever time. If I have the electro, extra joy for keeping up extra time. Damn, you can reduce the asistance if the current setting feels like not proper training (if that was the case...) But just pushing your wheel on him or passing him when you know it is the battery... C'mon. No true cyclist fan would ever overtake a pro. You now you can't in "apples to apples" scenario, so respect that. He is also a person doing his job. And you don't know go hard the rest of the ride was/is going to be. Nor the following/previous weeks... Just freaking let him do his job and don't bother. If i were MVDP i would go full incognito but maybe he doesn't mind every tourist on good legs or an e-bike hanging on the wheel 😅 E-bike girl gunning it on the steeper sections is hilarious
I’ve thought the same thing, but apparently there’s an anti-doping rule that they must always be in their kit when riding/training. Michael Rasmussen got booted from the TDF in 2007 because he was training incognito to avoid doping controls.
@@Labot700 Exactly. They have to always wear their team kits. In this case - rainbow is an honor to wear so why not do it? Obviously getting recognized might be tiring at times, but I would gladly do it ;)

@@ciaranmcmahon3024 highly doubtful. Pros usually don't have any ego on their training rides. They stick with their prescribed training zones regardless of what's going on around them. If you get on their wheel on a low intensity day and pass them, they'll pretty much never chase. They know far better that the key to success is to do their training as prescribed and leave the racing for the race day.

Interesting it’s not the first thing you think of (out solo climbing long hills) when you think of MVDP. You look at Pogi and Remco now and unlike previous generations of classics men MVDP appears to have shifted to a warm weather climate with BIG climbing days to prepare for the bergs of Belgium and Cobbles of Northern France. Reckon WVA is doing similar too. The level is incredible!
Makes sense though. Even if MVDP is not a 'climber' it's still a much better way of doing quality blocks of training instead of the flat, cold and rainy roads in The Netherlands.
Proof that sometimes when training on the road and you see Rainbow Stripes, it's actually a guy that earned them. Awesome!
I’ve never understood people who are wearing them but haven’t earned them… Shouldn’t be allowed. Takes away the value of it in my opinion.
