Just Wow The guns are from the Gneisenau!! What an increible place, Really surprised that it wasnt destroyed during or even after the war! Thanks for sharing
Oooh wow what a treat, really good share and the music was very fitting too! 👌 eery place, interesting to see! Thanks for the video, Ceri and Kat ☕ ❤ 🗺 🧭
That was really interesting to watch, so many gauges and valves. thanks for sharing & Great job on providing the historical context. Very well done indeed.
Gorgeous, very nice video👍👏👏 a quality channel. I'm looking forward to new videos. God bless you and your family🙏🙏. I wish you healthy days. Let's stay connected. Greetings from Turkey and love 🙋♂️🇹🇷🌹🌹🌹🛎👉
Interesting to see a piece of history and good to see the inside workings. You really get a sense of what it must have been like to operate the guns. Cheers. Eddie.
The plane take off in inclement weather was scarey enough. Great music. We must of course, never forget the violence of WW2 as a deterrent, but unfortunately those who do not pay heed to history are destined to repeat it.
In US there are four Iowa -class battleships, two South Dakotas and uss North Carolina, all with WW2 triple turrets. Each one of those ships has three triple turrets, so at least 21 of those 16inch triples are left. At least uss Missouri and Wisconsin were in active service during the operation desert storm at beginning of nineties. So, the cesar-turret from Gneisenau is not that unique, still interesting place and well worth a visit.
Schade das die Beschreibung nicht auch in Deutsch ist. Die Aufnahmen sind aber gut gemacht. Daumen Hoch für Dich. Gruß Rainer Too bad that the description is not also in German. But the shots are well done. Thumbs up for you. Greeting Rainer
WOW 🤩 i love seeing things from the past just makes you wonder what life would have been like back then, this is amazing though to see the engineering that went into one and that it actually still is operational 👌🏾
KMS Scharnhorst gave one last fire, even if it was from beyond the grave, by that time most if not all the Royal Navy battleships and heavy cruisers had been scrapped,
Many thanks for sharing my friend. I see it all as a great memorial never to do anything like this again. It's always frightening to see what the Nazis were able to do, all of which was only possible under inhumane conditions and prisoners of war. Big like for reminder!👍#36
It has been welded stuck. But the Submarine Diesel Generators powering the fortress is still working and started from time to time. Massive canon never the less :-)

Stay safe my friend.
Thanks for sharing this historical event.
Not active. Think they also welded it stuck
very cool, the 280mm guns!
That looks great 👍 a lot of technology for 1940s
This turret is from Gneisenau battleship. Museum is opened in summer time only.
Yes. This was a private tour in January.

Complicated kit to work. Doubt it will fire again unless people trained to use it. Hope there is never a need to fire it again.
Hi friends great nice videos friends super like videos friends 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
KMS Scharnhorst gave one last fire, even if it was from beyond the grave, by that time most if not all the Royal Navy battleships and heavy cruisers had been scrapped,
Nifty. Still ready to protect the Northland!
Why don't you try it?
Think it been welded stuck. But the generators and mechanics still work.
