- Recorded in October 2021, for online Limmud Stockholm 2021.
Meron is a tiny town situated on a mountain, near the city of Tzfat, in Galilee, (northern Israel/Palestine), hosting the tombs of some of the most famous rabbinic figures as Hillel, Shammai, and Shimon Bar Yochai.
Every year, on Lag B'Omer - the 33rd day of the counting of the Omer - about a million Jews, from ultra-orthodox to secular, meet to celebrate one of the biggest parties in Israel with singing, dancing, and bonfire. More info: en.wikipedia.o...
The celebrations are accompanied by Meron nigunim, a repertoire of instrumental dances, created by amateur Yiddish and Arabic-speaking Hasidic musicians during the nineteenth and earlier twentieth centuries. The melodies are usually accompanied by Arabic rhythms and percussions. Source: Feldman, Zev. "Klezmer, Music, History & Memories" New York, NY: Oxford University Press, 2016. Pg. 389.

Great music !
Thank you!
This music feeds my musical soul.
As a moroccan (Arab or Arabian) music lover (jazz soul blues ethnic etc...) i recognise that melting cultures usually brings the best results. Nice job here and keep on performing.
Thank you!
In a room with just my dog, made me get up and dance.
100% truth, I wear 3 leg braces.
Powerful, beautiful, electric.

Wow clarinetist is fantastic! If she stop thinking about her breathing she will b able 2 circular breath!
Thank you SO much!! 🥰
PS: I actually do circular breathing but not on this piece as I appreciate the short silence of breaths. 😉

Hola muchos saludos!
Which one exactly? The "Fun Der Khupe" repertoire includes a series of tunes played during a Jewish wedding, at the moment when groom and bride are under the wedding canopy. Therefore, different melodies are actually called with the same name of "Freylekhs Fun Der Khupe". 🙃
@@Gabo-nv6xg "freylekhs" means joyfully in Yiddish, so they are all more or less very joyous. 🙃 Do you have a link to the one you mean?
Beautiful 😍
Thank you! 😍

Idee gut. Ausführung verbesserungsfähig.
Danke für deinen Kommentar!
We had indeed a problem with the accordion microphone and noticed it too late! 😔We edited the sound at best we could, and decided to publish the video anyway. It was a good lesson for next time! 😉
@@zerozerosettebond Grazie! 🥰
Áre you amazing in other too,me too

Btw, What’s Klezmer?
Jewish village music
Traditional Ashkenazi music, blending ancient eastern musical styles with European instruments
Traditionally featured at Jewish weddings. Draws from Eastern European Yiddish traditions, etc.
ça donne envie d'allumer le feu
Merci beaucoup! ❤🔥
Music not for the stupid among us.
Saw today on History that a lot of people have a tradition they are from Israel and now genetics says it´s true! The twelve tribes are true which I have said.
NICE BAND SOUND , BUT THE DRUM SOLO AT THE BEGINNING OF THE VIEO ISNT BEING PRODUCED BY THE DRUMMER .WATCH FOR HIS HAND POSITION , THERE IS A NOTE WHEN HE IS NOT HITTING THE DRUM
Hello! Thank you for your comment! Though I was there playing and I made the video: I can assure you that every drum sound is produced by the drummer. Maybe, I haven't synced the video and audio perfectly but I really assure you that the sound is what was played. Peace, Valeria
