brilliant,,,great shots that bring back happy memories . as a young lad ,this was an everyday encounter on the wcml near to us at whitmore and stableford.
Thank you very much Stuart. It must have been wonderful to see Britannias and other west coast motive power everyday. I'm pleased you enjoyed the video.
@@Milepost90.25 i am afraid we took it for granted, but we were just youngsters.sneaking around crewe north shed on a sunday was the highlight of the week ,cycle ten miles home just in time for tea and a bath ready for school on monday morning.i would be twelve or thirteen at the time. i saw my first brit on a very wet saturday afternoon on stoke station, the 17.05 manchester picadilly to london,,,talk about being overawed!!. happy days.
Thank you very much Callum. You do raise an excellent point about 70000's ability to whistle. The toots at Marston Jabbett were a bit lacklustre, but she certainly made up for it later! I hope you enjoyed the video.
The clip after Hemel is a couple of miles north from Northampton station. These are the co-ordinates for the foot crossing (52.268295,-0.923506). I was approx. 200m south west of the crossing. I drove up the track from the entrance to Nene Way, off Mill Lane, for about a mile to reach the spot. I hope this answers your question and I hope you enjoyed the video.
They run most weekends throughout the year in varying locations around the country. I hope this answers your question and I hope you enjoyed the video.
Like a recurring dream
Power in coal, oil and steam"!
Thanks for these well-caught scenes of a favourite locomotive.
You can't really go wrong with a Brit. Good solid engines! I'm pleased you enjoyed the video.

Brilliant shots. Although I would hasten to add, Has Britannia ever blown a whistle which isn't almighty? 😅
