Thanks so much for the tip about swapping out the nib on the Euphoria for the TWSBI one! I also have (and love, but don't use enough because of the nib) a Matcha Latte Euphoria and mainly use EF. Definitely going to try! Love your videos always and thanks again!
I also had the same problems with Platinum Carbon Black in my 2025 weeks 😢. I switched to a Platinum Classic ink and it’s been better. Still some ghosting as expected ,but no bleed through so far.
I've switched to the standard black cartridges from Sailor and those work pretty well too. Just a little sad that we can't really use the Carbon Black 😢
I‘m nodding along as I’m watching this. I also got a pen from Stilo & Stile on FPD, am opening the Diamine Inkvent the night before to avoid spoilers, and Dandelion Diaries is my go-to for the daily inkvent videos. 😌
Love your two new pens! I had my eye on a couple of pens on my wishlist, but neither were available and/or discounted. I am a little disappointed with my weeks mega paper. I also like to use platinum carbon black. I’m going to try sticking with it for the first few weeks and reevaluate if in need to try a different ink or pen.
Hoping you'll find them with a nice discount some other time! 😊 Hopefully the Platinum Carbon Black won't have too much bleedthrough in your weeks. I've tried some more pens and inks now and so far the Carbon Black is the worst, but other black inks (that aren't archival, unfortunately) work fine. I guess I'm finally going to work my way through my stack of black Sailor cartridges 😅

Thanks for this video! I am very tempted by the Earl Grey pen. So, so tempted. It would be my first and only Benu pen. Thanks also for showing the bleed-through issue in your 2025 Weeks. I'm crossing my fingers that my A6 Original (English) won't be affected. I'm curious: have you tried gel ink or low-viscosity ballpoint ink (like Pilot Acro or Uni Jetstream) on it? My plan, if I have the "bad batch" paper, is to just use either my Pilot Coletto multipen or a Uni Jetstream multipen in my 2025 planner. I really enjoy your videos. They're informative and fun.
Thank you for your comment! I've tried the Uni Jetstream in 0.5 and 0.7 and those work fine. Also tried a Zebra Sarasa in 0.4 (that one is usually quite 'wet') but that one works fine as well. So far only the Carbon Black ink is giving me problems. Hopefully you won't have any issues at all with your planner! 😊
I got the cousin and its worse than the weeks I dont know why but I did ink test in the back and it totally bleeds all the way through what a waiste of money time and effort if I would have known it was gonna be that bad I would have bought a blank notebook that I know would hold up to the ink and used that like the GLP Creations The Author 68gs tomoe river so nice I love that paper its excellent I might have to buy another one fast
Oof, that's really sad to hear! So many of us buy the Hobonichi for the great paper, so it sucks when the quality just isn't consistent. I'm really hoping they manage to solve the paper issues for next year. I hadn't heard about GLP Creations before, will have to take a look! 👀
@@ruonpaper Yeah they F'ed up Bad! the paper is no wear near the quality it was two years ago such a shame that they had to go out of business and change the way the paper is made they could have spent a few more pennies and had them make really quality paper or make it with 68gsm paper that would be a chonkey book but it would be totally fountain pen friendly :)
