      I just picked up this Quantum Dot 4K ULED 58” for 42% off of $599.99 at 379.99 I’m pretty confident I got a good deal on it but to be honest with you I wasn’t really on a budget and I really wanted a better more vivid picture than my current 65” UHD. Do you think this TV I have on the way will be noticeably nicer than my TCL UHD TV?

    • @sevbait
      @sevbait Год назад +2

      Just to update, this tv looks better than the ks8500 that it replaced, and I got it for $350. The local dimming has its limits but it's surprisingly good. I was shocked at how great Life of Pi 4k UHD blu-ray looked, it never looked as good on my previous edge lit tv. Also, the built in firetv os has been quite nice and I rarely use my roku ultra anymore.
      My biggest pain point was moving over from the Samsung One Connect box, which meant running only the one large cable into my in wall pass-through. I had to buy four new long hdmi cables, pull them through the pass-through, and zip tie them all to the mantelmount frame for a tidy look. I'm using ARC port 1 to feed audio to the soundbar mounted to the frame with the TV.

    Steve. Late in 2023 Amazon began, & still is selling a 65u6HF, and also a 75" version with fire tv. I can not find any specs on this model. Hisense doesn't even mention this model on there website. So being a later release than the 50 & 58"; would this TV have similar specs to an older 6h model or 6k model. Thank you Steve as I'm interested in purchasing.

    I just ordered this from Amazon. It’s on sale can’t beat the price. For me Iam not looking for the best picture and sound but for the price it will do. My Samsung 50inch blew out several months ago. That tv I bought in 2015-2016. So this model would be better in pic quality. From the review the pic looks great especially for the price. For me this will be a knock around and in btwn tv until I get my entertainment center ready for my room. I can see already that I will like the tv.

    I bought and returned this tv because despite having many picture adjustment options, the one it absolutely lacked - or at least I couldn’t find it ANYWHERE - was ANY ability to turn off the motion smoothing to get rid of the soap opera effect. Other Hisense models seem to be able to but not this one. Watching a movie looks like a daytime soap opera almost. Horrible.

    • @Twelvegoldteeth

      The moment I walk into a persons house and I see they have that ridiculous effect on their TV…no matter the relationship, I immediately think differently of them.
      WTF is up with that motion smoothing and why the f^ck is it even a thing on TV’s? It makes every show/movie look terrible.

      I’m trying to decide whether to keep mine, a 58” model bought during Prime Day, for the same reason.
      I can’t notice any soap opera effect from excessive interpolation on either of the discs I tried with (Charade for a very well preserved filmic look; John Wick for a recent film with a lot of motion), which leads me to wonder if a) interpolation is only on when the Game picture mode is selected, and/or b) if this- like some other Hisense models- uses black frame insertion, which I’m much more fine with. It’s frustrating that between the manual, Hisense’s site and Amazon’s listing there’s no useful information about what kind of motion smoothing technology the TV actually uses!

    I've got a Vizio D55-F2 and it is not very bright, even with the backlight maxxed out. I'm actually looking for more of a large screen computer monitor. Amazon has this Hisense 58U6HF for only 350 USD right now, and beyond that Amazon is offering their Amazon Pay option (not a credit card of any kind) dividing the payments into 29.17 a month for 12 months. The first month plus the total tax is due at shipment. It almost makes me think that there is more wrong with the TV than they are letting anyone know about. Maybe it's just that it's a Fire TV an Amazon is promoting it. I obviously don't know. What I do know, is that just about anything has to be better than this Vizio that I have now.

    I have the google 55" U6H. I like it quite a bit except for dark scenes in SDR. Dark browns/greys and such, well not so much. The tv doesn't know how to handle this and gets a weird shady black. Those same scenes in HDR, then there is not problem. I think this might be what is called 'crushing'
